Edit: Since my original review some time ago (below), we have recently loaded the game and I assume that the terrible 'Cannot Save' bug has been fixed! The good news is that slot 1 game loaded back to the point where the bug originally manifested, and we didn't seem to lose gold bricks or discoveries (which is a big relief). Yes, the game is now very playable and my son is back on it as his go-to game. There are still some glitches which need to be improved, and the game isn't without the occasional (few times a weekend) total crash and required reboot of the xbox console. Some way to go, but a promising re-ignition of this game for our family.Old review (now worst bug appears to be fixed): Iwould not be giving this game a one star review if it weren't for a major bug that has brought all participation of this game in our household to a grinding halt. My 6 year old rates this as his favourite game and despite many minor glitches - which have not largely detracted from the enjoyment - it is now completely unplayable. It has been reported extensively and as yet I am not aware of any major push to fix it, because it has been months now with no resolution or information in sight. Any gamer now playing is straddling a razor's edge that they are unlikely to be aware of. After many hours and progress everything (including starting new game slots) is now reporting a message that the game cannot be saved. Some have advised that deleting worlds has restored some action, but not in our case, because that option seems to be unavailable and the galaxy is unresponsive and lacks any of the worlds. When this bug (which is clearly what it is) is fixed, I will upgrade the game in terms of stars, because I think it is pretty good when it works.

People compare this game to Minecraft, i don't.Lego worlds is a fun yet tedious experience; having to collect 100 gold bricks (that you find in limited worlds) to unlock the freedom there was in the early access version of the game is satisfying but it can get boring after 30 gold bricks or so. I can understand the theory behind this: whilst you collect gold bricks (which become rarer as you go on), you have the chance to collect new vehicles (including roadrollers, diggers, planes, motorcycles, cars, ghost carriage ecc) as well as new characters and new biomes you can select when creating your own custom world.BUILDING: Building is very frustrating at first but is something you can get used to as you play along.Building brick by brick is grat but can become difficult if you're planning to build something massive.COMBAT AND WEAPONS: The weapons in this game are amazing. They include weapons like a paintball gun, rifles, pistols, swords and so on. The best part about it is that you can fight (and play) in first person! Combat is simple.COMPARISON WITH MINECRAFT:Minecraft never really surprises you that much. You can't ride planes, have a paintball fight, ride elephants, ride cars, build roads with roadrollers, flatten the terrain with a simple tool, create mountains, find volcanoes, paint a tree with lava, find active towns with cars ecc. In lego worlds you can. Having said that, the building in minecraft is soooooo much better (control wise).PROS AND CONS:Pros:Great custumisationyou can ride anythingamazing weaponsIt's fun, reeeeally funThere is a first person modePlay with friends online (first lego game that does thatNever stops surprising youCons:Multiplayer is limited to 2 peopleBuilding is tedious

At first this will seem to be another Minecraft clone, but if you actually play it you realise its more than that. If anything this is closer to being a No Mans Sky clone than anything else. You have to gather resources which the game calls "discover" this allows you to copy most things in the game (plants, animals etc) although you may have to do a little quest before hand before you can take their "blueprint"The game is fun to play and follows the same sort of gameplay as other Lego games. Just a bit more open world. You collect studs which is the currency, this is used to "buy" the things you have discovered allowing you to use it.The story mode is pretty fun and you find yourself wonderingaround for hours trying to find all the unlocks. You do get an option to freebuild but you have to unlock the different bricks you can use, by stopping these creatures that carry them. All in all a great title, yes its easy to compare this to Minecraft but it really isnt. It's more like No Mans Sky with the exploration and resource gathering.Eitherway if you like either of those games and like the usual "lego" humour the games have you will like this game!

This game was much anticipated in our house and it hasn't disappointed. It is graphically very pretty and the game play isn't bad at all. I have played this for a number of hours and although is has gotten a bit samey, it is still very cool. There is a multitude of things to see and do and its a lot of fun. The game can be a little tricky as there are a number of different things to control, this can make game play for younger children a little problematic. The build mode is fun but can prove tricky until you get used to it.I have found a few bugs in the game but nothing too detrimental so far. Mostly just requires a restart. I have found that the ship isn't always accessible after you have been exploring for a while, restarting resolves this. I also found that an image of the B button appeared over my characters head and would not go away regardless of what I did - again, a restart solved this problem.Overall, I am really enjoying this game and while it has been a little samey so far, I will continue to play it to unlock all the build mode items so that I can access them all.

I didn't play this game on other platforms, but being a fan of LEGO and Minecraft - I thought this would suit me a lot. I'm amazed LEGO took long while to create this experience. The little disadvantage would be that it doesn't run as smoothly as Minecraft, loading times take longer, there's not such an element as adventure mode which I love in Minecraft.Instead, it does have a decent Discovery mode, where you accomplish different tasks and collect Golden Bricks, so it's nice to play when I have some short time to kill. It's also super cool to rebuild the Lego sets you have at home in the game, and with different sizes and shapes of bricks - it trumps Minecraft and allows you to build some impressive and realistic buildings. It's a nice experience, and I'm sure the developers are going to be bringing more to the experience with years to come.Follow me on Youtube/Facebook (PuzzleMeAJigsaw) for LEGO and jigsaw puzzle time-lapse build videos and reviews.

OK...first things first - this game has a few bugs, can be a bit laggy in split screen mode and the 'chunks' of the world sometimes take a while to load in (I am talking a few seconds rather than minutes) but it does kind of interrupt the game play. That's the bad stuff over with - I judge this game on the amount of pleasure and gaming that my 8 yr old gets out of it - and it is fantastic. I play with her and go do the boring collecting stuff so that she can advance to the bigger worlds and meanwhile she gets on with the fun stuff - dropping buildings everywhere, 'role playing' with the amazing amount of characters and animals in the game. It is a joy to watch (I will not soon forget her attempts to teach a polar bear to swim)and along the way we have managed to pick up some rare achievements. This game suffers from initial release bugs etc but I am confident it will get even better with a few patches and updates. For the price this was a fantastic buy.

Lego worlds was a game that I had on my PC for a while and when I heard of its official launch to Ps4 I couldn't say no. It arrived earlier than expected which was good, it came in tight packaging and suffered no bumps or marks.Once I fired my PS4 up and inserted the game disc I noticed that the frame rate was considerably diffetented even for a console. I started to play and it is definitely a fun game. I asked my brother if he wanted to come and play and he did. As soon as another player joined the game it got much more laggier. What amazes me though, is this game only took up 3gb of space unlike other games that need 40gb and they don't lag.Other than the lag/frame rate issues, I'd say get this game.As it has just gotten out of beta I'd imagine there is some bumps in the road that needs sorting out, they've got a good game here which I doubt the Lego devs will abandon.

When I 1st heard about this game was a bit curious. Having played minecraft and put some serious hours in. I watched a few game trailers of lego world's. Seeing it was only 18.99 decided to take a gamble on the game. Only payed 16.99 4 the game has it was a pre order so amazon knocked 2 quid off. The game it self is a little slow 4 the 1st 3 levels has these are learning levels. The game has loads of other levels but can only be opened via collect gold bricks from previous levels. The only issues I have with the game is its a bit leggy in places. In 2 player mode. The game has crashed due to lag. Xbox t xbox 2 player works better. Apart from these few issues it worth buying.

What a fantastic game. Me and my son play all the lego games as they are kid safe and contain hundreds of hours of fun. This game is never ending, its filled with lego items from all the sets. You have to travel lego space to find all the lego items and explore lots of different lego biomes. You can build structures ride animals, drive land sea and air vehicles, paint the world, destroy the world with explosives or machines and build whatever you want brick by brick. Every lego fan needs this gamer or not.

This was a Christmas present for my 5 year old son, I did wonder if it would be too complicated for him but he seems to have grasped the basics and has a lot of fun just exploring. I'd imagine that this game will get better for him as he gets older and can fully read too. If your child can't read I'd recommend that you sit with them as they play as the missions are all text based. The game has a lot to it and there is a big community that are contributing their own creations too.

I love this game it looks good and plays without error, mostly but occasionally I’ve found flight controls a bit difficult to control but it’s no major deterrent to game play.I’ve said that it looks good as graphically it’s textures are either bright and vibrant or cool and atmospheric. Level structures are mostly the same with some variants and it’s not really difficult but does have its moments. Combat is very hit and miss though but still enjoyable.

Official PlayStation magazine reviewed this as 5 out of 10 in review but I must say, I think it deserved a higher score. I'm really enjoying it and would recommend. I find it lots more fun and easier than Minecraft. It's good that kids can drop in and play whilst you continue to progress the game at the same time (because this is fun for adults too!) Fun for all and graphics are much nicer than Minecraft. Lots of exploration in this open world game

Fantastic game, really hard to put it down although there isn't really much story line but that doesn't matter. Who doesn't just want to build things then smash them down, kill zombie lego men, travel to a candy land, dive to the bottom of the ocean or even fly an airplane through a jungle......I could go on and on. Honestly fantastic game so happy brought this and look forward to see how they keep this up to date with different updates.

Have only played this for a couple of hours and so far it is a good game. Huge open world type and very good graphics. More of a build what you want type game than running round killing and slapping people. I am a very big lego fan but I do think that the games are getting a bit samey. I keep buying them in case I am missing out on something, and yes I have pre ordered lego city for ps4 but in the mean time I am more than happy to play this.

You can make whatever you want whenever you want. This is the best game in the world. You can make you're own character or choose from many Lego TV characters (like Ninjago). You can create cars, bikes, helicopters, planes and boats - then explore your world with them.(Review written by Evan, aged 9)You can also play split screen in the same world with your children, and it's a nice way to spend time with them.(Written by Evan's Dad)
