A good compromise between ease of use and magnification, for kids or others not used to binoculars. The x6 magnification makes them ideal for looking at birds that are fairly close - say on a bird table, or at a zoo - which is ideal when you are learning to use binoculars and would not be able to quickly focus on a dot in a hedge. They have a nice weight in the hand and feel comfortable for small hands. My only real criticism is that they don't come with a neck strap. This may be for safety reasons but for my own kids I would want a neck strap - there are fixing points for one if you get the right (thin) cord to thread through; I would then use a thicker strap to fix to the thin loops.

At this price point you get what you pay for. Cheap and cheerful, but nevertheless of acceptable quality and for a youngster these seem to be a very good starting point. Once he is a little older and more competent - and uses binoculars more regularly - then I will move him onto a proper set. Nothing wrong with these as a starter set. Optical quality is good and adjustments fairly simple. Only knocked one star for pretty poor eye relief as the rubber rings could be better quality and deeper.

I bought these as a Xmas present for my 6 year old granddaughter as she likes insects! I thought she may enjoy general nature watching. She thinks they are great and they go around with her most places. I went on a walk with her and tried them out. They are very easy to adjust, the quality is very robust, and the magnification is very good and clear. We're very pleased with them. Her older brother now wants his own pair so I can feel another Xmas present coming!

Gave these to our granddaughter for her eighth birthday. On her first trip out with them, we spotted a kingfisher which landed the other side of a lake, not visible to the naked eye. She was thrilled when she managed to see it with her binoculars. Her sister tried them and asked for a pair for her tenth birthday the next month. They may want adult ones in a few years time but these light weight ones are ideal for them at the moment.

Bought for a 4 year old. The optics are acceptable, given this is a cheap product. They're easy to use (adjusting to eye width and focusing), even for a small child.I bought these alongside an adult pair of similar price; these were preferred by the 4 year old in terms of appearance and they were certainly easier to use.

A proper roof-prism binocular, not the normal tacky plastic "kid's fare", but a proper optical instrument. Have now bought two of these (the other branded "Bresser") for 6-yr old grand-children. Robust enough to survive childrens' handling and good enough that they are delighted with them and use them a lot.

Just ordered these as a Christmas pressie for my niece. They look really great. Only problem was the Amazon description says a neck strap is included, but unfortunately it is just a wrist strap, which was slightly disappointing, as I think, for kids, a neck strap might be handier.

I must say I am very impressed. They feel sturdy and the image is very clear. Easy to handle and also easy to adjust with the central wheel. Now if my son has the patience for it he may enjoy them as much as they do. We will use them for bird watching. So far, very impressed!

Definitely a step up from a toy, but not a serious bit of kit either. Basically a good test to see if they get some use. If so then they will need upgrading pretty quickly.Modest magnificationSloppy rubber focus ringNice gripGood size for kids

I bought these binoculars for my six year old granddaughter and she loved them. The magnification is x6 and the image is very sharp. It is sturdy, so suitable for a child, but an adult would also like them. They are compact and have a carry strap.

Well made sturdy binoculars as an introduction to young nature lovers. Good focus if a little difficult to adjust for children but worth the effort. Definitely better than cheap plastic ones usually offered for children. Would recommend.

Unless another one we purchase (which didn't work at all) this is Perfect! Functions properly, easy to use and seems to be sturdy! Spend a bit more money on a quality product like this and you can't go wrong! It's worth every penny

These were an instant hit with my grandson. In fact all my grandchildren love them so might be getting some more next birthday. Good quality easy to use and good visual. As good nearly as my husbands expensive ones!!

Good make (Bresser) and look well made with a proper lens (not just a toy). Good value. Only small disappointment is it comes with just a wrist strap not a neck strap, which is not ideal for adult or child

Very good quality and for my 2 n a half yr old daughter .. better than those fake toys that could damage your eyes.. although we only let her use them away from direct sun light just in case
