Although it says 8 years plus my younger boys love anything science experimenty so I made these with my 4 year old. The instructions were easy to follow and it was easy to make, except for the fact that there were so many different languages all together in the booklet rather than each language having its own section. There were a few extra experiments/variations on the main bath bomb. The balance of powders they have provided in the kit doesnt seem right comparing citric acid to the bicarbonate- I think we will run out of one and have the other spare. I was also suprised to see they had provided citric acid and bicarbonate but we had to provide cornflour (and oil- but I would expect us to provide that),luckily we had some but not everyone would have this in their cupboards. The bath bombs themselves expanded so overflowed from the mold, and were very crumbly and did not stay in shape. We made one batch of each of the three colours straight away so we could make layered bombs and so had enough mixture to make 6 bombs but only mold for 4 so we tried to shape the last few into balls but they just crumbled. They dissolved very quickly in the bath, but my boys enjoyed feeling them fizz on their hand under the water. They were so excited that we put all six in the same bath- and this may be why but their skin was really oily/greasy when they came out. It dried fine and didnt leave any oily marks on their towel but their hair the next day looked so awful and greasy- they normally have dry hair that never appears to need a wash so this was a nasty shock.I'd buy this as a nice crafty/sciency thing to do but I wouldnt bank on getting good quality bombs eg to give as gifts

All kids love to create something that they can use and this Mini Lab bath balls is great fun. Needs some adult supervision and help for younger children, only due to the chemicals used to make sure they don't rub their eyes or lick their hands! The excitement of using the bath ball afterwards is fantastic as the child feels a sense of pride as they had made them.Great for the budding scientist too. For older children the explanation of how the bath balls work adds to the educational element.

These are a lovely idea for any kids that like science and so they can get to do something they like while doing something they dont (taking a bath). The instructions are clear and so they are easy to make (once you find the English ones) but I did find that the bath was left in an awful state and I had to shower off the kids afterwards to make sure all the colour was off them too. But nothing that could not be sorted so all in all a great fun bathtime toy.

A fun activity with the kids. The enclosed instructions are straight-forward and the bath ball is fun and colourful. A good combination of play and getting the kids to take a long soak - something to do on a rainy day.Make sure to wash off well afterwards both kid and bathtub. We didn't have any issues with skin irritation etc. but of course this is something to be aware of and to test for first.

This seemed quite expensive for a one off activity however it was fun and the children I helped with making these enjoyed it. The instructions are easy to follow which is important as when it's a fun activity or game no one wants to delay too much trying to decipher how to use it. Good for encouraging an interest in science but also encouraging cleanliness from something you've made yourself! :)

My son loves bath balls like this, so it was really brilliant to be able to make some with him. Easy to make, and a great activity to do together. They do produce quite a lot of colour, so you will need to clean the bath afterwards (and maybe your child!).
