This is an excellent and robust first chemistry set for younger children, which I think would probably be a disappointment to older kids due to its simplicity, but is excellently pitched for children doing their first experiments mixing things to see the results.What you're mostly paying for are measuring beakers, test tubes, scales and pipette - all chunky enough to be easily manipulated by small hands, and which should withstand being dropped, spilled and other experiments gone wrong. The measuring beakers are great, though I question why the manufacturers would include weighing scales without any actual weights marked on them - this would be a very simple addition that wouldn't have

I was most jealous when my sister received a chemistry set many years ago, for her birthday, so I could not wait to have a turn and do my own experiments at home.The box that this set arrived in was solid and most impressive. However, upon opening the box, I was left feeling a little let down by the paucity of its contents. Two large plastic tubes (test tubes) with a stand, a pipette, funnel, weighing scales (to weigh from 1-5 – no units of weight given) plus three plastic beakers with ml scales. The age range for this set is 4-7 years, hence the bulky, non-breakable, simplistic plastic kit.There are easy to follow diagrammatic instructions for the child and learning notes for the parent and these are excellent.

This very first chemistry set introduces simple scientific principles using ten experiments. The experiments are set out on cards so are easy to follow one at a time. The cards use pictures to show you step by step what to do and what to discuss. There is also a paper booklet which explains each experiment in writing if you need a little more help.The kit comes with plastic beakers, pipette, test tubes and simple scales (all chunky for little hands) and you will need a few basic household items such as oil, washing up liquid and shampoo. It's a lovely introduction to scientific thinking and because it doesn't require any special ingredients you can do the experiments over and over again.

Like other reviewers I remember my first chemistry set - it was a Johnny Ball chemistry set and I loved it. So I was keen to get my daughter her own chemistry set. She was delighted with it. We has great fun doing chemistry experiments and mixtures with child-friendly accessories. There are 10 experiments which are clearly explained step by step. This chemistry set contains: weighing scales, test tubes, beakers and a pipette. A booklet for parents enables them to help their children with their experiments. There are clear illustrated instructions with experiment sheets. This is a an excellent set from BUKI Mini Sciences which both educational and great fun too.

I had a lot of fun with my son with this set.I remember my first chemistry set over 20 years ago. I also remember getting some chemicals that are likely banned for consumer use these days.Moving on, this is very much a ;first' set. You get some basic plastic kit that although initially looks underwhelming works well.The booklet has some neat ideas to make use of everyday items and we were soon experimenting, having fun. My son now thinks he is on his way to finding a formula to turn himself into the hulk!

This is very much a first chemistry set. None of the chemicals that my brother stained the carpet in the spare room with from his chemistry set in my younger years will be found here. Instead you get easy to follow instructions, beakers, test tubes and pipettes etc to allow you to conduct your own experiments. You will need a few bits and pieces from home. This is a set to get young minds thinking and curious about how things work. Great fun.

This science kit has useful experiment sheets for kids and comes with various pieces of equipment. I find that these kinds of sets are well-intentioned but children need a lot of adult supervision in order to get anything out of them on an educational level. This set is perfectly adequate but a little pricey.

This is such a cute little kit for any budding scientists. My son absolutely loved doing the investigations. All of the instructions are say to follow and the equipment has been designed with little hands in mind. Great as a gift or to be used as a genuine educational resource. Brilliant
