This crystal growing set was bought for my daughter for her 5th birthday - and it is utterly brilliant. It says from age 10+, but my 5 year old(along with our help of course) loved every single experiment. She did all the mixing, and was absolutely fascinated watching the crystals grow - and the great thing now is that she has them for keepsakes :) The great thing also is that there are 16 experiments, and you normally have to wait a day or so in between experiments... meaning that it lasts for more than 2 weeks! Every day she would come home from school and ask to do the next experiment. I would say this is a great present for an inquisitive child!

I bought this for my great nephew, but he doesn't live near me' so I couldn't see him make any crystals, but his mum said he made a large crystal, which developed overnight, and put it in the treasure chest. It sounds so fascinating that I may buy a kit myself!

Went down very well , and not just interesting for Christmas, Importantly kept their attention long after with different stages and the possibility of making animal shapes. No negative comments so far, so 365 days of smugness till next Christmas

Bought for my daughter, and she liked it very much.She learned a lot about crystals and the experiments were all easy to carry out.A few extra containers were needed, but nothing expensive, so I would recommend thisproduct !

It is complicated at times, and there are chemicals involved, so you have to supervise at all times. The wait for certain experiments a little frustrating for my 8 year old, but the results are worth it. Great home science.

Purchased for my soon to be 10 year old grandson. Looks good but I haven't actually opened it yet so can't really assess but I think the child would need to be 10 or so for safety reasons and handling sensibly.

Bought as a present, result not known yet. I spent many years in an old fashioned wet lab, long before everything went digital, and thought it looked excellent.

This was bought for my 12yr old grandson. Well worth the money. Has given him hours of fun as well as expanding his knowledge of how crystals are formed.

Excellent set - contains most things needed to make the crystals. Great present for my 8 year old daughter for Christmas, and well loved already!

My son loved this, he got it for his birthday. Easy to use, a bit different from a general chemistry set. Very happy with product.

Great for my 9 year old. Some crystals grow better than others, but on the whole great fun.
