This is an incredible game. So different to anything i've played before, with very unique controls. You use the left analogue stick to control the movement of the older brother, and the right analogue stick for the younger brother. You then use the L2 and R2 buttons to control the older brother and younger brother's actions respectively. This style can take some getting used to, especially when both running and you tend to concentrate on the left stick more as that's the one you normally use in games.Throughout the game you encounter a wide variety of puzzles and challenges to progress. Most of these are simple enough once you figure them out, some require quite a bit of concentration to make sure you control the right brother. These puzzles add some nice elements to the game, and prevent it from getting boring. There are also some lovely (and some sad) cutscenes throughout the game. One of the highlights for me was the scenery! WOW! This game is beautiful, all the scenes, especially wide shots, are stunning and a lot of effort has gone into the games design. Now the reason I couldn't give this game 5 stars is down to just how sad it is! Especially the ending. The game starts off sad but once you get going its fine, until the end! I won't spoil it buy my god I really didn't want to have to do one part at the end (anyone who has played should know which bit i'm on about, involving dragging), but I did it to finish the game. At this point I just sat stunned, until the final bit of gameplay begun, then once this bit was done and the last cutscene played, I just sat stunned and emotional again.Don't get me wrong, the story is brilliant, and I can see why the game makers took this choice, but I was really hoping there would be a twist at the end to stop it being so depressing, but nope.I still truly recommend the game though just to experience the unique gameplay, the lovely cutscenes and story, and the beautiful scenery.

I don't want games where you KILL EVERYTHING!Why oh why have games become ultimate killing machines..?So BROTHERS is a delightful change to the norm.Visually STUNNING in many ways, with PUZZLES and CHALLENGES rather than machine guns to keep you entertained. The concept is simple a ONE Player game, where you have to coordinate 2 brothers through the endless puzzles and challenges. In many respects very much like the classic game ICO, where you have to ensure that you work as a team, rather than the individual.Controls, if you're into games are easy, but I am not, so have found the use of 2 controls on one pad a bit difficult, but you get used to it.Slight downside is that though the game is visually stunning, there is no real chance to Free Rome the landscape, it's all guided gameplay...Otherwise it's a GREAT, Visually STUNNING game, that heralds back to great games like ICO, but somehow doesn't quite make it.This is why I only rated this a 4 STAR game.

What an incredible game, one of the best on the PS4 in my opinion. You play as two brothers who go searching for a cure for their ill father, you control each boy independently with the two analog sticks, it's a little tricky at first but you get used to it quickly. Gameplay involves a bit of platforming but mainly puzzle solving, the puzzles are more fun than challenging though, I think it benefits from this as frustratingly hard puzzles would have taken something away from the game. The graphics are ok but don't have the sharpness you expect from a PS4 game, they look a little rough, the art style and environments are incredible though and the music compliments the game perfectly. It's just an amazing game full of memorable moments.Highly recommended.

From the get go of this gem,you could be forgiven for thinking the controls are a bit odd and there is no english. But it soon dawns on you,the controls are relatively simple, one side of the control for one brother the other side for the other. The language is not actually a proper language or important,it is what the brothers are implying with their actions, you just have to figure out how to get them past obstacles.Once you get the hang of it,it is absolutely brilliant, something unique,i was hooked. The problem now though,it is way too short, you could certainly finish it in a few hours if you're quick enough to figure out the little puzzles.A huge shame as it really is something special.Easily worth 5 stars, but i was gutted that it ended so soon.

I agree that the game is a little short(time wise)but is epic in its ambition.Fabulous graphics, beautiful landscapes..there are even benches dotted around where you and your bro can go and sit and take it all in.At first the task of controlling both boys at once feels a little clumsy but it doesn't take long to get used to a very good use of the ps4 controller.Lots of puzzles to solve..climbing..swinging..flying..swimming..great storyline full of surprises, emotion and mutual trust and dependence.Needs no dialogue as is self explanatory.Breath of fresh air..yes I also love FPS games etc but I crave more games like this to grace the ps4.Excellent!

In this game you will be guiding two brothers on a quest to find their father through what seems to be medieval rural Nordic landscapes. The sounds are minimal, the brothers don't say much relying mostly on gestures and a word or two when calling for action or pointing in a direction to go. The visuals are well designed and you will take the two sons through fenced villages and open fields and mountains with waterfalls and meet people and various creatures from Nordic folklore. In a time when almost every new game is some sort of a shooter, this is a very original and different game for people who like folklore, quests and adventure.

Cracking little game about two brothers embarking on their own Hobbit-like quest to get medicine for their sick father. The USP of this is using the two sticks to control each brother which sounds fiddly but once you’ve pushed your cart through the first gate or climbed the first rock is actually easy to use and only adds to the feeling of togetherness and teamwork of the two brave lads on their adventure. If you like simple but atmospheric games (Ico springs immediately to mind) then you will like this but be warned it is very short and quite bloody (literally) in parts, hence the 16 rating.

What a fantastic little game. Enchanting storyline, beautiful artwork - I can't wait for his next creation. I am a 49 year old female but my friends 10 year old boy also loved it so I don't think it has a limited audience although it's not suitable for those that only enjoy mindless violence! As well as the main story there are trophies to earn to keep you entertained and the two brothers have such different personalities which are quite amusing!I think it's a really clever idea to have both characters on one controller.

every now and again you will stumble on a game that is just such a pleasure to play that its incredible. This is that game. The visuals are excellent and the gameplay equally so, its intuitive and fun. Its not difficult to complete and you will probably complete it in a few hours, so if you are looking for longevity then this is not for you. What it offers is a beautifully crafted story about family and adventure and it is a pure pleasue to play, and at this price you would be criminally insane not to buy it and play it.

Brothers is a game which will stay with you for some time to come. This was a game I played with my 6yr old daughter. We played for a few hours each evening after school. The scenery is breath taking - the mood of the music enchanting. The puzzles are simple and never frustrating. You'll see some people moaning about the controls - I have no idea why. Once you get used to them the system offers a genuinely refreshing change from the norm. This was a beautiful game, one of the best I have played of this genre. Buy it.

A lovely little gem of a game. The controls take a bit of getting used to, but not much. Travel through beautiful scenery and help various characters as you try to find a cure for your dying father. Really sweet game, and rather touching at the end. Rather short, it can be completed in a few hours (add an extra hour if you want to go trophy-hunting) and just goes to show you don't need some big-budget studio to make wonderful games that stay with you long after you've played them. Highly recommended.

I didn't know what to expect with this game but when I started playing and the superb music kicked in at the beginning I was hooked. the twin joystick movement takes a little getting used to but please don't let that put you off or you will miss a masterpiece of a game. The game was a joy from start to finish I just wish it was longer than 4 to 5 hours. The twist at the end is one of the best twist ive played in a video game. please note im a 48 year old man and this is one amazing game a must play.

A really neat little game, unique controls, and surprisingly unnerving in places (man trying to hang himself / dead people hanging from trees etc). Main criticism is I completed it so quickly :( I wish it could have gone on longer, and I unfortunately read a spoiler by accident which totally ruined the whole plot of the game. Basically you are two brothers who have to get a potion to save your dad. Don't miss out on the sideline quests / achievements as this no doubt lengthens the gameplay time.

This is one of the best PS4 games I've played. No fighting, no shooting, no killing. A story of how two brothers set out on a quest for a cure for their sick father. The controls are interesting with the left stick controlling the older brother and the right stick the younger. It takes a little while to get used to, but boy, is it worth it. A fantastic story, wonderfully told with many twists and turns and some lovely puzzles to solve. All in all a magical, emotional journey.

I really loved this game. It's a game about 2 brothers that go on an adventure, looking for a cure for their sick father. It's a pretty simple game with little puzzles to solve and it's just a joy to experience. You control both brothers which can feel tricky at first but you soon get used to it. The games quite short but it's just such a joy and it gets emotional near the end. If you like this then check out a game called ico. Very similar games and booth are great.
