I’ve tried a lot of trail shoes and kept struggling to get a snug fit on my midfoot. Finally, the Cascadia is a great fit! I initially ordered a 7.5 (my size in Hyperion Tempo) but they’re a bit large. I kept them for running in thicker socks in the winter and ordered a 7. The 7 is spot on perfect. To compare them to a road shoe, the upper fits like Ghost but with the ability to hit rugged terrain. Order the size you wear in Ghost.I’ve tried these on our local dirt trails which are a mix of dirt/mud/rocky areas. My feet did not slide around with the steep climbs and descents. I’m able to get a great fit and no heel slip even without runners loops (that’s a first).I haven’t had any issues keeping them tied either (I had issues with with the flat laces on Caldera 3). The cushioning in this shoe is just right - soft enough yet you still feel connected to the ground with no squish. I’ve also been able to easily take the roads and sidewalks that lead to our off-road trails. The tread is not overly aggressive. This is a solid trail shoe. I recommend it to anybody who is looking for a comfortable yet durable shoe to explore off the beaten path.

Before you read this review, I should disclose that I am a SUPER amateur runner/trail runner. As in, I've never ran a trail a day in my life up until a month ago. During this COVID-19 pandemic, I've resorted to outdoor activities such as running/walking/hiking. (I miss the gym) I recently discovered there is a park right by my house within a half a mile. Its a trail that off-road cyclists use, so its very up and down and bumpy. I decided I needed a special shoe to accommodate this new normal of not being able to hit the gym. This shoe fits the bill. This is actually my 5th pair of Brooks, but first time with this model. They are SO sticky on the trail. I feel stable and confident in this shoe.I am very happy with my purchase. One thing I should mention is that the half mile that I walk to get to the trail is on sidewalks. This shoe is meant for off-road, 100%. One thing I've noticed about the last 2 pairs of Brooks I've purchased is that they seem to run kinda big now. Hope this review helps!

Absolutely love these shoes. I've been a Brooks loyalist, so was really bummed when the Adrenaline Trail shoes were discontinued. I tried the Cascadia GTX 12's a couple years back as a replacement and the seam from where the GoreTex tongue was attached to the inner shoe continually bothered me - it feltl ike two rocks putting pressure and rubbing my upper food. Because of that, I tried a bunch of different brands (Salomon, La Sportiva, Hoka) to find a replacement, to no avail. I came back to give the newer Cascadias another shot, and they fit like a glove. No need to break them in, incredible traction, and comfortable.

These shoes are undoubtedly comfortable and with good grip. They transition nicely from trail to road. Love the laces. I can't give them a ringing, universal endorsement, though, because as someone with narrow heels, these shoes are unwearable for anything other than short, straight runs. I've tried a million different socks with them, but so far nothing has been exactly right. I recognize this as a great shoe, though, so I'm giving it 4 stars even though I personally can't really wear them except for on little mini jogs around the neighborhood. If there was a narrow-width option available, these would be a dream.

I’m a mature 78 year old walker. Cascadia have been my go to walking shoe for several years. The first model I wore was the 11. The 14 is as comfortable except in the snow, wind or rain. No longer weather protective. I’ve since noted for a cost I could have gotten the additional protection which came with the 11. A bit too expensive for fixed income! YET they are a blessing to my feet, I will pay the extra for my next pair, I just might have to wait longer. Now put that comfort in a wee bit dressier shoe for slacks and my feet will be thankful. Keep up your great shoe manufacturing.

This is a narrow shoe (I’m a C in Clarke’s gal) & it fits me brilliantly! Loved it off road but even though it is a hybrid & I have posh orthoticy things, I felt very vulnerable on the pavement & I’m no racing snake (roughly 9 min miles in case that helps anyone). Had to physically slow myself down due to lack of boing (instead of just running out of puff like usual) but my normal runners have that in abundance (Saucony Ride ISO) so this may just be me being cautious as I’ve previously suffered with shin splints.

I am in love with my first pair of Brooks trail sneakers! So far I've only logged about 15 miles in them, on rocky and dirt trails in SW NM. Got the Rock plate and I haven't felt a single pointy step! Have a mid soul strike and found these complement me well, with no heel pain upon waking which I have had in the past. Have a developing bunion on left foot and have enough support in my stride with these gems that I don't even notice it!They totally resonate for me. Maybe they will for you too!!

I bought this shoe for hiking and trail running. This is one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. They felt good right out of the box, no blisters or rubbing. My feet feel so good when wearing them that I have been wearing them around town. The soles are firm as needed for trail running, but still very comfortable. I have plantar fascia issues so I did have to buy Superfeet inserts, but I have to do that for all my athletic shoes. I am very happy with my purchase.

I have been wearing Cascadias for years. I really like the fit and the color of this shoe. So much, in fact, that I bought 3 pairs. I wear black scrubs to work and when I travel I wear black slacks - so this color works great - and doesn't show up dirt like a lighter color would. I have a very wide foot and the width and toe box fits well - even when jogging down hill - no pinch of the toes. I work in them, jog in them, hike in them, and walk on Europe's cobblestones with them.

I've worn a variety of Brooks shoes, including a few versions of the Cascadia. This version doesn't disappoint but I didn't notice a big change from previous versions [I did not have the 13, more like the 11 I think?]. Not a complaint, but possibly helpful to anyone loving on their older version of Cascadia. My only complaint is that the tongue seems to be stiffer and longer? It rubs against my ankle/shin as my leg bends which is more annoying than problematic.

The shoe is light for a trail shoe with good grip and support on non paved surfaces. I usually wear an eight in Brooks sneakers and this one was no different. I found the shoe to be comfortable but not as cushiony around the foot. When wearing no-show socks, I felt the edge of the sneaker rub on skin around the ankle. I haven't went on any long runs so I don't know if this would be an issue. All in all, a good running shoe and I would definitely buy again.

This is my third pair of Brooks Cascadia shoes. I started buying Brooks shoes at the recommendation of my physical therapist after a spinal injury. The support they give is amazing. I have less pain in my Brooks Cascadia sneakers than I do walking barefoot or in any other shoe I own. I use them for hiking and for just walking around. They are extremely comfortable and I look forward to wearing this pair down to the threads like I did the last two pairs.

These are my favorite trail shoes and I'm on my third pair after putting a ton of hiking miles on them. I'm a lightweight backpacker and these shoes are fantastic. No pain, great grip on the trail, and you don't have to deal with bulky hiking boots. I did the Torres del Paine O Circuit in Patagonia in these (80+ miles) and had no issues. My husband also hikes/trail runs in the men's version. Our family loves hiking/trail running in Cascadias!

I have worn Brooks for years—love the brand and customer service. Love the roomy toe box and narrower heel in the Cascadia, it’s not easy to find that combination. This is my second pair of Cascadias. The previous version had holes along the cuff/top line after 2 months of wear. My replacements have made it longer but have holes on the outer toe box. Something seems changed with the material—it is not as durable as before.

I have only managed to take them out once but it felt like I was riding on air and I liked the traction the soles gave on the trails I ran... granted they were gentler trails but I have the feeling these shoes will perform nicely on more technical terrain as well. I also liked the upper construction and have high hopes these will hold up better than my old pair of Cascadia's that started ripping after less than 100 mi!
