The cooker is big bright and impressive. It is quite a bit larger than expected (even though I knew the capacity and the dimensions ! ). It does all the things it is supposed to do,and very well. The reason I only awarded it 4 stars (I would give 4.5 if the system allowed ) is that every time I have used it so far, the condensation gathering inside the glass lid, runs down to the outer metal edge, where it hits the hot flat rim of the cooking pot, boils, and then splatters steam and condensed water droplets over the pot's rim onto the surrounding work surface.I have solved the problem ( I think ) by fitting a thin metal clip onto the offending lid rim, which lifts it by maybe a third of a millimetre. This seems to be just enough to stop the problem.I don't know if all of this model of cooker do the same, or if this is just a quirk of my set-up. I also know that turning down the heat from HIGH to LOW will stop generally stop the problem, but I can't always be around to do that.Otherwise a good value and efficient slow cooker which suits my needs very well.Read full review...

Had Breville with Auto setting before so bought same again. Much hotter than 1980-1990 slow cookers, be careful. Most meat cooks in 3-4 hrs. No vent hole in lid so steam cant escape, except by lifting and rattling the lid, and trickles go down into outer container - hard to clean off, baked on. Grease dish before use. Great for summer - doesnt heat kitchen. Roasts beef joint 3kg beautifully on low setting 6-7 hrs. Add little Port and herbs. Use BBQ meat thermom with cord to test when done.

Great size for a family of 4 with big appetites! Tried several dishes already, but the slow roasted (pulled) pork has been the best to date. Great for convenience and planning meals in advance. The glass lid allows you to see how the food is cooking, the various heat settings enable you to speed things up or slow down cooking.. Lifting the dish to the table, saving on washing more pots and keeps any seconds warm. Very easy to clean. Great value for money against competitors. No regrets.

I had a perfectly functioning 3Ltr slow cooker. It was fine for 2 of us and to batch cook curry's, spag bols, stews etc. However - not a lot of use when the family here. With my new 5.5Ltr Breville i am getting more use out of it than ever before. I can batch cook adn do pot roasts that were just too bit for the 3 Ltr pot. Using it more and saving more money as I don't have to use the oven half as much. I can boil a whole large ham and don't have to keep topping up the pan. Great.

Starting with price, well that was fantastic. Chose for ceramic inner pot instead of one lined with a non stick finish. Really like the auto cook setting choice which is great for start in AM and let go all day. Auto states starts out on high temp then eases off to lower setting as the hours proceed.I do like the glass top you can see what is going on without letting heat escape. The reason for low design rating is the entire outside stainless gets EXTREMELY HOT, Be VERY AWARE!

I enjoy cooking and so I never expected to love my slow cooker this much! It takes a lot of the effort out of cooking, there's no frying, just chop and chuck everything in. Very easy to use, extremely convenient when you have other things to get on with. Food tastes delicious. Great product. The only slight downside is the weight of the ceramic pot. Also, some people may find it useful to have a timer but, if not, then this one is perfect.

we hadn't used a slow cooker before but thought one would be useful as we work full time.found this product to be excellent value for money, and have made loads of stews so far. My only critiscism would be that judging the amount of water to add has been difficult, as too much and a stew or casserole is too thin, too little and its too thick, so we still experimenting, but think we got it right now, but overall a very useful product.

This product is a great size, meals cooked in this serve our family of three twice. Ideal for batch cooking.Good quality, easy to clean, reasonably priced.Bought as a replacement for our 3.5l slow cooker, the capacity is much better for slow roasting joints of meat.Would have given 5 stars but I would prefer a "keep warm" function rather than the "Auto" setting, but this is a personal preference.

Good size for cooking joints with lovely ceramic bowl. Delicious results. However a word of warning, the first one I bought had large dent in the front, the replacement one had a very ill fitting lid, third time it was ok. Maybe check it before you leave shop. The lid still moves around but think this is how its supposed to be so long as there are no gaps for the steam to escape. Happy cooking!

I bought this slow cooker as a present for my daughter. She says it is proving a real asset, since both she and her husband are out at work all day, so she can prepare the meal and then leave it to "do its own thing". She has had a slow cooker in the past, but apparently this one is so much better because it has "bells & whistles" the other one lacked. She really does sing its praises!

Cooks over a period of time without need for further attention. Excellent for making soup and stews. On 'Auto' setting it can be left to cook on cheap-rate electricity overnight ready to serve next day.The ceramic bowl is convenient for serving at the table and is easily washed.Mains lead is a little too short, but assume this is dictated by relevant regulations?

Excellent product for making large quantities of stew, soup, chilli, bolognaise, etc have one meal for 3 out of freshly cook meal then store and freeze remainder especially in this curent economic climate. Large bowl, easy to clean does what it says on the packet. Down fall - only 2 recipes in instruction book we bought another book for slow cooker recipes.

Bought this when oven part broke, never used one before but so pleased with itIt’s so easy to use and the food cooked was delicious, everything can be put in together and at the end of day a meal is ready without anything else to do.Its simple to clean as there is only the inner dish that needs washing I wouldn’t be without it now and highly recommend

We needed a slow cooker large enough for when cooking for our family or friends, we also wanted one that was nice enough to look at and where the cooking bowl could be put on the table without looking too bad like a glass bowl would. This Breville one ticks all the boxes, very pleased with it so far. One star deducted as a bit on the pricey side.

I should have bought the smaller version as I think it's too big for a family of 4. Still it's doing exactly what I wanted and the food is so succulent - pop the food on and switch it on lie in the morning and when you get in from work a lovely home cooked smell greets you! The meat is do succjent and falls apart in your mouth -mmmmmmmm yummy!
