I bought a slow cooker years ago and never used it as it was too big, but then my daily routine changed and I was finding it hard to get dinner on the table at a reasonable time so I decided to buy a new one. This size is perfect for our household. It makes enough for a family of 4 to have a decent size meal, or when there are just 2 of us I can reheat leftovers the next day or freeze them. There are lots of lovely recipes out there, but my favourites to cook in this are beef stew or pork loin in red wine. The meat falls apart after slow cooking for 8 hours, and even the cheapest cuts taste wonderful. My only concern was that it doesn't have a timer, so on long days away from home I was still stuck, but I picked up a cheap timer plug for less than a fiver which meant I could dump a preprepared freezer meal straight into the pot early in the morning and have it start cooking 3-4 hours later (if you haven't heard of dump meals, you really need to look them up. They were a game-changer for me).As far as cleaning goes, I take the pot out of the cooker, give it a quick rinse to get rid of any leftover food pieces, and throw it in the dishwasher. Simple :)

Very pleased with this - the stoneware insert is not too heavy or bulky so easy to wash up after and the glass lid is far better than the plastic ones I saw when looking for a new slow cooker. As I bought one listed 'damaged box' I made sure to test it on arrival and it works perfectly. The retro-vintage look of the appliance looks great in our new small galley kitchen, very homely and doesn't take up a lot of space on the worktop. We recently downsized from the empty-nest family home to a retirement property so needed a smaller slow cooker to replace the behemoth 6.5L one and this 3.5L is a perfect choice for us - enough for us to enjoy supper one night and lunch the next or to freeze leftovers for a quick meal another time.I'd buy this slow cooker again and recommend it to anyone needing a small but efficient slow cooker. The instruction-user guide is a bit spare so download a better one from the maker's website, and invest in one or two slow cooker cooking books for delicious recipes and how to adapt 'regular' recipes for use in the cooker.Read full review...

It seems to me that there are 2 styles of cooking with slow cookers - one where lots of liquid is required and one where little liquid is used. I am from the low liquid school. A while ago I was tempted to buy an expensive Heston Blumenthal multi cooker. Fro me it was a disaster as a slow cooker. Then I read the instruction booklet and found it required far more liquid than I would ever use. The I bought an Andrew James. Again a disaster - the carrots and potato were just not cooked. So back to the good old crock-pot and finally I can eat slow cooked food again. carrot and potato at the bottom, chicken in the middle and mushroom and onions at the top. 1 hour on high + 6 on low.I did continue for and other 2 hours on low as a test and food was still fine. The only liquid not already in the food was a small glass of white wine. Off to buy some pork loin for my next experiment.I have now cooked chicken, pork and beef - all with veg, mushrooms, onions and a glass of wine - and each time the result has been tender meat and perfect veg, changing my rating to 6 stars

My first slow cooker. Pleased with this product, especially useful in the colder months, very easy to use with good results. The red one has a useful power-on light. I was worried that it might be a bit on the small side but the capacity is generous for 3 adults. I would like the inner pot to have easier to hold handles but their size/shape looks pretty standard between brands. Have used it for pasta sauces, stews etc - be aware that the slow cooking produces a lot of liquid so you don't need to add much initially. Only downside is that spare lid/inner crock don't appear to be available in the event of breakages but, again, this looks to be the same for other brands.Would buy the same again.

I am loving my new slow cooker - I put it to use 10 minutes after it was delivered (Amazon Prime's same-day delivery service, at no extra cost in this case). My first attempt was a lentil and carrot soup and it was simply delicious. You have to be patient as it took 3 hours but the end result is definitely worth it.The manual comes with some recipes which I have not looked at yet, but I highly recommend the BBC Good Food website as it has a lot of yummy looking recipes to try, and in a lot of cases has specific instructions on how to adapt them for slow cooking. The next best thing, apart from the affordable price, is being able to wash the stoneware pot and lid in the dishwasher!

Pot is easy to clean and not too heavy. Quite neat in comparison to some sc that look bulky to sit on work surface. I have used it four or five times and it has functioned well. I prefer to brown meat in a pan before slow cooking for appearance and for flavour. You would need to do this in another pan and then add to slow cooker. I can't comment on durability as I have not had it long. It is such a simple concept I cant imagine there is much to go wrong. Not much versatility in use, but of course you can use it for many things apart from stews eg adding a steamed pudding in a bowl with water in the slow cooker. You could cook meat for a pie and simply finish off in the oven et etc

Crock-Pot has never failed me! This is a very sturdy little machine, I've had no trouble with it. It is quite small - works well for dinner for the two of us, or for some meal-prep. The red is quite good looking. If you've never had a slow-cooker, it will change your life. Stick dinner on before you leave the house and it will cook itself. Nothing sticks in the pan, or burns, it can only dry out if overcooked. It also has a warm settling to keep food at temperature while you serve and prevent spoiling. I've already made apple butter, fajitas, and a big batch of marinara to freeze. It's like having a personal chef.

This is the best slow cooker.!!I had one of these before it was my best friend but when it came to moving house i had to give it up. I thought long and hard if to try a more expensive newer digital one.. but i went with what i know and by previous reviews.I must say i am pleased i did . Cooks well.. i plug mine into a timer... so it switches on if I am out at the right time i need it too.My family have loved everything ive cooked in it so far .It also can go in the dishwasher which is fab as no mess clearing up either . Cant wait to make hot choc in it for xmas :)

Well pleased - I have had of these before so the quality & practicalities were no surprise. The great thing about slow cookers is that they are so easy but the crock pot, because it has a ceramic bowl is way above anything else - you can produce really tasty meals with only a teaspoon of liquid added, which means that meat cooks in its own juices, although I always lay it on a layer of potatoes, leeks, onions or some such thing. It goes on in the morning & by teatime, with no effort on my part at all, I have a really tasty meal. Excellent & well recommend

I’d been eyeing up this crock pot for awhile and finally decided to buy it. When it arrived the pot had clearly been returned once already, as there were finger print marks all over it and a few scuff marks on the pot. Very disappointing. After speaking with Amazon on live chat, I decided it was going to be more hassle to return the item so have kept it. The product itself works well. It’s not super easy to clean, but that goes for a lot of pots made of a similar material. It takes a lot of stress out of cooking, which is what I bought it for.

I had this crackpot for more than 1 year now and I must say that it really is an essential part of my cookware now.I prepare dinner quick and easy early in the morning before and leave on the longest cooking time and by the time I am back home everything is ready. It made some days very hassle free when it comes to cooking. It is very easy to use, just go with the instruction and look upon the internet for recipes. I would definitely reccomend it to everyone, in fact now my mom has got one too. great value for money

I was given this slow cooker as a Christmas gift and its the best gift ive ever received it use it most days and I love it --- the ceramic dish is easily removeable for cleaning.it has a low high and warm option and there is a small red light that lights up to show when its on it also comes with 3 utensils - I really love the colander one as it means if you cooking something with gravy you can scoop out the contents and the gravy doesn't fill up the serving like it would if you were using a ladle.

Was dubious because element in old one was on the bottom and no matter how little was in would still cook perfectly. Have used an up-to-date one with element heating the sides which did not cook half as well when not full. Was recommended to buy a Crockpot and i am not disappointed only cooked one meal so far chicken curry but it was cooked just as good as my old one would have done. It also has a "keep warm" setting which will be very useful. So far a very good buy in my opinion.Would recommend

Bought this as a 'distress purchase' - we had no kitchen during building work, it was too cold to BBQ and I was bored of microwave jacket potatoes. Our evening meals were transformed - lasagnes, sausage hotspots, lentil casseroles & stews could be made with only a little prep beforehand.I was dubious about slow cooking before buying this product, thinking It turned everything into mush but I was wrong. In fact, I'm such a convert that I'll carry on using it after our kitchen is completed!

I'm new to the slow cooking world, I don't know why it's taken me so long! I didn't want to spend too much as I live alone but wanted one big enough to make 2 or 3 days worth of food sometimes. I also wanted something a bit nicer to look at. I saw this and thought it was eye catching and looks quite traditional. What can I say? It's brilliant! So far I've cooked spag bol, curry and Chinese. I've become a bit obsessed. I keep thinking of new ideas to try! It works perfectly and the food is lush!
