This was bought to replace my old slow cooker which had cracked. For the price it is ideal. It has a larger capacity than my old one and because of this it does take longer to cook which has taken me a while to get used to. However the food tastes just as good. For someone who needs to put the slow cooker on of a morning for all day cooking it’s perfect. I haven’t used the high setting yet so can’t comment on how that cooks. It’s a nice looking small appliance and would suit any style of kitchen

I cracked my last pot whilst cooking, went straight to Argos to replace, I viewed the item first with a member of staff who was beyond helpful and couldn’t do more for me, got home & started using new slow cooker, it’s light to lift, east to clean & cooks well, it is built to a high standard & looks stylish in my kitchen, I think it’s great value for money. I’ve tried both settings and used the warm function, no issues at all, I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a new slow cooker

Bought this to try slow cookers, so didn't want to spend too much. Also wanted a large capacity one, so this was ideal. Good price, so simple to use. Have used it 3 or 4 times now - got a chilli bubbling away in it right now!For the price, it is good value, but ideally if it had a timer built in for reheating, also, the outer metal skin gets extremely hot, so great care is needed when handling, maybe some insulation here, which would actually speed up heating. All in all, good value product.

Model bought in 2012 and have used it regularly but the plastic around the wire connection disintegrated recently so I have bought the same model again. I can use the crockpot and lid from the old one in the new one so I now have a spare. I am happy with this model which is large enough for batch cooking for a family of 4 and happily fits a large chicken or gammon joint with room around the sides for some veg. It cooks slightly quicker than the last one so lost one star but happy customer.

I have had slow cookers for many years and wouldn't be without one, I have to say this one absolutely holds it's own against the more expensive ones I've owned and I'll most definitely buy another when it inevitably comes to the end of it's days. It's straightforward to use and so far reliable. I personally love the size even though there are only three of us at home as it allows me to cook a whole large chicken as well as stews and chillies etc, I bag up and freeze the extra for later dates.

Cookworks slowcooker is amazing, we're a family of 5 so went for the 6.5L & it's perfect for us! First use had that new smell but after that first cook we didnt have that smell, cooks food perfectly, meat is so tender & falls apart, veg potatoes & stuff are so soft & tastier than ever, very easy to clean, the bowl is quite heavy but that's expected it is a little cooker after all lol, you also get a little leaflet with recipes in that's a nice touch. Argos is great, delivery staff so polite.

Had to replace a very old cooker which stopped after years of service. Delighted to find one of equivalent value and into which my old pot also fits. Considered paying more for one which can be used on the hob, but given comments on the weakness of the non stick linings of those models decided to stick with tried & tested & continue to use an old cast iron pan to brown things first. Luckily I am reasonably strong - both items of kit are quite heavy, but its good to keep the muscles in use!

I bought this oval and larger slow cooker because I want to do more with it. There is nothing wrong with my smaller 3.5 litre slow cooker ( also an Argos Cookworks product) and which I bought in 2001!. I have already used the large oval pot to do a joint and a full chicken in and both turned out fantastically well!! So onward's and upwards Argos and for potential buyers please don't get sidelined by manufacturers who charge more for a similar product, this one is worth its weight in gold.

This was a replacement for my previous one that was damaged when the glass surface protector it was sitting on exploded (don’t ask!). This new black shiny one looks great and although the crock pot is quite heavy, that is to be expected as it is 6.5 litre capacity, compared to my previous one which was 5 litre. I mainly use my slow cooker to cook roast beef and this cooked it to ‘melt in the mouth’ perfection. It was also good to have a larger cooking pot size as it wasn’t packed so full.

I got this to replace my last big slow cooker - I use them to make bone broth and this one seems to cook very hot - it may be due to the very liquid nature of the dish and may be better with a denser meal, but it has quite a high power output so may always be a bit on the high side. I have 5 slow cookers for various dishes, this seems to cook at a much higher temperature than the others (they are all lower power output but some only slightly) Apart from that I do love it, great capacity

I bought this after my previous cookworks slow cooker needed replacing after many years of use. The new one is practically identical but I like the black outer and inner crock pot as opposed to the white I had before. I considered paying more for one that you can sear the meat in the pot on the hob first but I didn't think they would last as long as the traditional pot which is virtually indestructible! The controls are simple and easy to use, hope this one lasts as long as the old one.

I purchased this cooker within 10 mins of my wife saying she would like one.As a new family to slow cooker we cannot fault it, the whole thing is very well constructed and does exactly what it is designed to do. We have had 3 meals in 1 week and other than the first where you get a slight burning smell, (due to the newness and told about in the instructions) all we get now is the fantastic smells of what is cooking. Be warned though makes you so hungry as the aromas start flowing.

Needed a large slow cooker be easy for creating multiple portions for freezer at a time. This Argos Slow Cooker is ideal, and really holds 5.5 litres. In the few weeks we have owned we have created :-Bolognese Sauce (24 portions) Low 6 hrsCottage Pie Mix (16 p) Low 6 hrsPork Casserole (12 p) High 5 hrsChicken Casserole (14 p) High 6 hrsVery easy to clean, careful of ceramic pot weight. Glass lid to see what is happening. Outer metal case thin, so careful to not damage/dent.

We have owned a 3.5l slow cooker for25years, we till have it. I am working in Belfast, have my own apartment and needed a slow cooker to keep me nourished. This 6.5l Cookworks was a "no brainer". Good brand name, excellent capacity and price. We now own both a 3.5l and now a 6.5l. Even though we appear to be moving towards "Electric Slow Pressure Cookers" these cost a small fortune. With this Cookworks, and, having all of the time in the world, my freezer is now well stocked.

Purchased as a replacement for a 6 yrs old slow cooker where the controls on the front were push fit and had disintegrated due to the heat! The controls on this one are part of the outer layer so no chance of that happening. I use a slow cooker quite regularly and for anything and everything. First thing in this new one was rice pudding, cooked to perfection. The most essential cooking utensil I have ever owned. I couldn’t be without one. I would recommend this to anyone!
