I don't mash a lot of potatoes, and when I do, I usually use the mixer, but you need a masher, right? My 30 year old one broke, and this one is cute, and fits well in the drawer. It's not big like some mashers. So far, I've only used it to mash berries for jam, but it worked ok for that. The slots are pretty small, so it takes a lot of mashing, and if you like chunky potatoes, this might not be what you want. It's ok.

Overall happy with the product. The smasher part of this is a light grey... it appeared more green to me in the image. If you’re not worried about the color, it’s a good buy.
