Really impressed with this jacket, it’s slim fitting, high-quality and feels premium and well made. I received this jacket in a size Small, I’m 6 ft tall and have a slim build, and the jacket fits really well. It has enough length not to be too long, and there isn’t too much excess material on the arms that make the jacket look out of shape and bulky. Usually, I’ll go for winter jackets to be slightly larger to accommodate thicker clothing worn underneath the jacket, but even in a small there is enough room for me to wear thicker clothing. The inner lining material is made from a polyester type fabric which but feels high quality. I personally wouldn’t opt for the red/blue colour, but that’s just my personal taste – if you like the colour scheme the colours are nice and really pop from the jacket. The Hydroshell fabric layers have substance and inner padding to keep the heat in and increase comfort. Its waterproof but breathable to keep you warm but not overly hot. The openings for the arms can be adjusted with a Velcro-strap if you have larger or smaller wrists so you can set them just right for you. There is a cord at the bottom of the coat that you can use to tighten it around the waist if you want, and the hood itself has its own dedicated cord so you can tighten it up in strong winds so it doesn’t blow off your head. The jacket zipper is decent and allows you to quickly zip up if stepping out into the cold. I guess the only negative is that the jacket does not have any internal pockets, the only packets available are two large external ones on the front. The jacket also comes with a product lifetime guarantee from Berghaus, which shows the confidence they have in the product. If you found the photos & this review helpful, please consider clicking on the helpful button below, it helps me out!

This is an excellent coat from a well-respected outdoor brand. There is nothing particularly innovative about it, in fact it is almost identical to a Berg’ I bought in the early nineties for a few quid more and wore for years out in the wilds and daily on the train. In those days the material was called Aquafoil, a cheaper version of Gore-Tex, and now its HydroShell but rest assured they all do the same thing by keeping you dry and warm without suffocating you in the process. The two tone blue is very smart and although the front zip is not protected it does not let the wind through. The Velcro cuffs serve that purpose for your wrists also on very cold days, you can fasten them over your gloves if they are long enough for extra snugness. The collar zips nicely up to your chin to protect you from the elements too. The lining is thin and light which keeps the bulk down and makes it usable multi-season, it is up to you how to layer it underneath depending on the temperature. The sizing is quite generous and there are only two external and no internal pockets but at this price point (less than seventy pounds for an XL atow) it is a steal.Update, this has now been thoroughly tested on several wet and windy winter days and definitely proved it's worth

This Berghaus jacket is perfect for wet and cool conditions. Firstly it is lined which means that it is more than just a shell - the insulation does provide some warmth, although not as much warmth as the combined fleece/jackets that Berghaus also produce. The men’s small size was a generous but very comfortable fit for my female 5’5 and 161 kg frame and weight. The two-tone red/blue will ensure that I am visible on the road when hiking and the hydro shell is waterproof which means that I have excellent protection from precipitation. The zip is great quality and wide tooth and the jacket zips up to under my chin to prevent both water and wind ingress. The adjustable hood is a perfect fit and there is a peak front. The waist is also adjustable with an inbuilt toggle. Further, there are Velcro adjustable tabs around the wrists.A couple of negative observations: unfortunately, there is no capacity to roll the hood away. Plus, whilst this jacket has two rather capacious zip up and lined front pockets, it is lacking hidden inner pockets or even a top pocket - all of which are ideal (and will be missed) for phones, keys, wallet and other assorted and miscellaneous paraphernalia.

This isn’t the best jacket I’ve had but then, it isn’t the most expensive either. To put it more succinctly, it’s good value for money. It’s a very simple design with just two zipped side pockets, which are well protected from rain by cover-flaps. The central zip is also protected by a drip cover at the top. I’ve used it in heavy rain and it’s been perfectly waterproof. Both the coat and the hood have insulated linings, which are fine (for me anyway) at temperatures down to freezing. Below that, I need an additional layer, such as a gilet. There’s room in the coat for that. I bought the ‘M’ size. I’m 5’6” tall with a chest size of 40” and I find it a very comfortable fit either way.The hood is a little skimpy for my liking and there’s no wire-supported peak. That means it isn’t perfect for keeping the rain out of your face, especially if you’re wearing a woollen hat. So I tend to wear a baseball cap with it if I’m expecting rain. The insulation in the hood compensates for the less warm headgear. Although there’s a volume adjuster at the back of the hood, there is no way to alter its shape around your face, which I find odd. But, all in all, it's a very serviceable coat.

This came in a size small and fits our eighteen year old son really well. He needed a coat that was thick but not a bulky fitting one, one with a hood and not an old fashioned styled one. This one he thinks ok for wearing when walking the dog and being out in the cold weather as a good fit and pockets big enough for putting a small torch in whilst he’s putting the ducks away at night into their house. For the money I think it’s about the same price range as a lot of these so called insulated waterproof jackets that seem to be all in fashion. This one though not only fashionable but also waterproof too and wind proof as son says after being caught out in a bad windy storm whilst walking the dog.I did think a size small would be slightly bigger than this as have tried this make myself and found them to be on the slightly larger sizing scale but maybe just different according to styles. One happy teenager though who is now warm and dry whilst putting the animals to bed at night. I would look at this make myself when needing to replace my outdoor dog walking coat too as not bulky or on the big side size wise so would be ideal for myself.

I already have a lightweight Berghaus water proof summer coat that isn’t really up to the winter temperatures so I was grateful when the opportunity to try this one came along. I am a 42” chest and the large size is spot on for me. The first thing I noticed about this coat is it’s lightness. My other Coat is light weight but the lining in this one gives it the appearance of a much heavier coat. The lining is quilt soft and has a lovely warm feel to it. The side pockets are deep and have a very noticeable soft, warm feel too. They are zipped and have flaps designed to keep out the wet. The coat is fully water proof and insulated and like other Berghaus products I think the clothing is designed to be layered? It comes with a lifetime guarantee against defects. I did notice a bit of difficulty fastening the lower part of the zipper and it has a tendency to trap the lining. I went to put my phone in an inner pocket and found there weren’t any which is a shame. I found the hood is great and especially like the peak. The hood stays put too even when it’s windy. I could do work some trousers of the same quality now.

This is a quality piece of kit for hikes, as you'd expect from the brand. The padding / lining is excellent - it's really nicely insulated, and is a bit like wearing a light sleeping bag when you're walking in the cold wind and rain! It's also a bit longer than some outdoor wear, which I found a good thing as it keeps you covered up beyond the waist. Water is drawn off it like from a duck's back (tested in the wet and wild Edinburgh weather) so it absolutely does the trick in that department.Style-wise, it's nice and plain in all black (actually very very dark navy in sunlight) with the small Berghaus logo on one side of the chest.I think it actually looks quite trendy as it's a fairly slim cut - no bad thing. As outdoor wear it's something between a regular light coat and something more heavy duty, offering enough protection for weekend walks and rambles. Light enough to squish into a small rucksack, it's really convenient for the ever-changeable weather, too. All in all, very impressed.

A jacket for the outdoors. And for men. It's insulated. And it really is very good in that respect. You can just feel how much of that there is when you first try it, which makes it really well layered and nice and cosy when out and about in the cold. It's also waterproof.Full washing instructions can be found in a label at the bottom. There are also two pockets, in the usual position of such things in that they are low down each side at the front. They are diagonal in the opening, with zips. So you can slip your hands in there if you wish. Or put things in there and do them up securely. It zips up at the front. Very sturdily. There's also a hood built into the body of the coat, and that stays up very well.Almost a perfect product. But it would be even better if had an inside pocket or two. As I do like to keep things like phone and wallet in those when out and about. But so it goes. Even without that, this is still a very good coat, and well worth trying.

Been waiting for several days for it to rain so as to really assess this Berghaus Men's Deluge Pro 2.0 Insulated Waterproof Jacket. At last this afternoon its been steadily raining, and often very hard. So I've worn the jacket when walking the dog and picking up some shopping from the local store. As promised the jacket it absolutely waterproof. Not a drop penetrated the outer skin of the material. The hood is excellent too, staying on despite the wind, and keeping what little hair I have left nice and dry. I also very much like the way the zip up front comes up right over my neck and chin. Keeping those areas both dry and protected from the wind. The jacket is lightweight with only minimal padding but is effective in providing protection from the wind. Perfect for cooler, wetter autumn and spring days, or cooler winter days along with plenty of layers worn underneath. A quality water[proof jacket that is well made and does exactly what it claims.

This is for the red and blue jacket.Took this for my son who is 5’6” so thought we’d be ok with a small, after all it is a man’s winter jacket and they will expect people to wear other layers. The minute I unwrapped it I was worried. It looked really small. With a t-shirt and a thin jumper underneath he found he could wear it but it is fitting around the waist area. He better not put on weight. It is well made and has a thin-ish quilted inner that makes it a bit cosier to wear. With the zip right up and hood on you look well protected from the elements.Length-wise it sits around the middle of your bum.It has two outer pockets that are zipped but no inner ones for a phone or walletIt looks really nice on and he is happy to keep it but,be aware, it is very fitting.

I received a small. Much too small for me but perfect for my 13-year-old son, it fitted him perfectly. The coat is comfortable and the striking two tone blue/red design is good and my son is pleased with it. He has worn this a couple of times to chilly football matches on blustery days and he stayed warm and dry. There are two side pocket (with storm flaps), but disappointingly not an inside pocket, for which this loses a star. The pockets that are provided are OK, not the largest, but big enough for my son to store his phone safely. On the whole a decent coat, thin, seemingly insubstantial but waterproof and very warm. Usual Berghaus quality.

I wouldn’t normally consider spending too much on a reputed weatherproof jacket or coat as I have so often been let down by what is described and the actual result. This jacket is excellent and I have really put it through it’s paces in the recent varied weather conditions. It is excellently rain proof, the hood doesn’t need the usual neck fastening to keep it in place but just the zip to the neck. It is warm, perhaps overwarm in milder conditions, and in windy conditions, defies the chill.I would thoroughly recommend, I have of course yet to see how the weatherproofing lasts over time but for now rate it excellent value.

Don't you just hate English winter weather with all that cold and damp and rain! What better way to keep warm than this jacket with its double layer of waterproof fabric. Even better, it's lightweight, not bulky at all. The hood is fully adjustable as are the cuffs and hem which can be pulled in to make a tighter fit, thus preventing drafts from getting in. The zip pockets keep things handy. This is, as is to be expected from this brand, as really well made, well designed jacket which, hopefully, will last many winters. Finally, it claims to be "planet friendly" thanks to the bluesign approved fabric.

First of all I need to tell you I did not purchase this product but it was sent to me by Amazon in return for an unbiased and honest review. As soon as my husband put this two tone blue jacket on he loved it; lightweight, waterproof, quality and warm.It has Velcro fasteners on the wrists - always useful when wearing really thick sweaters, a good single zip, two zipped pockets with weather flaps and an adjustable cord hood. Hood cannot be removed and does not have a foldaway pouch.A minor disadvantage was it had no inner pocket. Can highly recommend this useful quality jacket.

Review of the XL size which fits as expected for the sizing. The Deluge Pro coat is high quality as you'd expect from Berghaus. It's large so you can wear over several layers for long hikes in cold weather and it's also moderately long so will also give protection from rain if using to cover work clothes etc. There are two large external pockets but otherwise the coat is not intended to be used to carry lots of things in internal pockets. Although a large coat, fully waterproof and lined for warmth, it's remarkably light.Recommended.
