This is an excellent quality, waterproof shell jacket from Berghaus that comes with some great features. It comes delivered in a clear bag with all the tags still attached and the one I chose was the Monument/Grey Pinstripe coloured one in size medium.Normally I am always a size large in jackets and coats, but this medium fitted me perfectly, so I’d say it’s a little oversized. The whole jacket is waterproof and the main zip goes all the way up to your neck and I love the adjustable hood as when you pull on the elastic cord it tightens around your head stopping it from getting blown off from the wind. For how lightweight this jacket is it really keeps the wind and cold out.You can pull the waist cord to prevent any draughts and the cuffs are also adjustable to create a tight fit round your wrists. The main and two pocket zips are smooth in operation and all have pull strings attached to make them easier to use especially when wearing gloves. The jacket doesn’t have a loop on the inside to put on a coat hook.Being a waterproof shell jacket, any small marks or dirt can be wiped off easily with a damp cloth or if needed it can be washed at 30°C and tumble dried on a low heat setting. Due to the nature of the fabric anything sharp that goes near it will likely cause a rip or hole to appear so caution should be taken around sharp branches and the like.Overall, I really like this shell jacket, it looks great and performs excellent when its wet and windy, its perfect for me when I walk the dog. The Hydroshell fabric is excellent quality and feels very durable and the stitching is done to a high standard. Sizing seems a bit larger than normal as it was a size down for me than what I usually wear but apart from this it’s a great jacket and one I’m very happy to recommend.

Excellent Quality lightweight 100% waterproof Berghaus Men’s Deluge 2.0 Shell jacket, but do size up as this one is slim fitting. The sleeves are a good length with neat adjustable Velcro straps, the bottom of the jacket has an adjustable toggle for a closer fit in heavy rain, the hood even adjusts with a toggle at the back that tucks away neatly. The seams are all sealed in waterproof taping to ensure no water gets in keeping you dry and warmer. The material is Hydroshell a fabric that’s 100% waterproof yet breathable with a lifetime guarantee from Berghaus. It feels soft and cotton like finish outside but more traditional waterproof feel on the inside.Berghaus’ logo is on the hood and front left chest. It has a strong zip that does up high to above the chin and two outer side pockets with matching black zips. The inside of the hood and jacket body is grey. My hubby wears a medium /large in other quality brands usually felt this jacket was small for a large, he’s a 42” chest, 36” waist if that helps you. He wore it out in the rain for a hours walk and it kept him dry, it didn’t feel ‘clammy’ inside either as so often waterproofs can feel. It’s a smart waterproof shell jacket that does the job with a lifetime guarantee from a well known company I recommend, just go up a size, maybe two sizes if you plan on wearing thick jumpers underneath too. It’s machine washable at 30 degrees and can be tumble dried on a low heat.I’m giving the jacket 4 out 5 stars as the sizing is small, please see my photos of my shy hubby modelling the jacket, he’s asked me to cover up his face for privacy, the last photo is of the inside sealed seams making them totally waterproof. I hope my review has been helpful to you.

If you are looking for a jacket that will keep you dry and comfortable on a walk in the countryside, this is a great choice. But it isn't designed for the mountains.I tested it this weekend in Wales - on Saturday on a strenuous and relatively speedy climb up Cadair Idris, and on Sunday on a more gentle walk in the pouring rain around the Elan Valley. There are lots of positives for the price:+ The jacket is thoroughly waterproof - I was walking in pouring rain for an hour or two and being buffeted by wind, and stayed completely dry. The water repellent finish works well (though, as always with these finishes, time will tell how long it lasts).+ It is reasonably breathable - on the steep Minfford path up Cadair Idris it didn't get too sweaty inside.+ It looks good and is comfortable. However, I definitely wouldn't recommend it if you are planning on hiking in mountains, or navigating:- It doesn't have a map pocket - the pockets are clearly designed more for e.g. dog treats or hands, not for a map, which was annoying.- The fit of the jacket is not designed to have lots of layers underneath - it is slim fitting - great if the weather is predictable, no good if you might hit a mountain storm.- The hood doesn't have a drawstring, meaning that when the wind gets up your only option is to hold it in place with a hand, or get a smattering of rain in the face. For a country walk, I will gladly reach for this over my existing jacket. However, it definitely won't replace my hiking jacket for longer, more technical days. And for the price, that feels right.

Overall an excellent jacket and I'm now looking for a hoodless version! Was on the lookout for a genuinely waterproof jacket for work. I'm working in a very hands-on role, outside, and didn't want to spend a fortune due to likely rips.I picked this Deluge Pro 2 up at an offer around the £50 Mark which I'd decided as an upper budget for work. Arrived quickly and upon unwrapping I was surprised at how little there was to it. Didn't seem a lot of coat for £50. I tried it on and was pleased with how snugly the jacket fitted, my chest measures 43" relaxed and I'd ordered a Large. During the autumn I've been wearing a Tog24 Appleby fleece with a T-shirt under it and been comfortable with warmth and movement also reasonably breathable under normal use.The jacket material (single layer)is actually quite durable. I've had a couple of occasions where I've snagged on a rough surface and upon warily inspecting the jacket found no damage. However the inevitable happened and I did rip it on the arm. Again I was impressed that the rip didn't run for the few days I was waiting for my repair kit to arrive, still wearing it daily for work.I didn't really want a hood but bit the bullet with this as I was struggling to find the ideal jacket within my budget. Also, this was for work and I wasn't too concerned about making a fashion statement. However thd hood actually works well and some thought has been put into its design.Would I pay full price for it? No. Too expensive for work and I wouldn't have a hood for normal use.

From back in the day when i was at school Berghaus jackets were up there with some of the best gear around and i often sat envious of the kids whose parents could afford the stuff. Now i'm older and i have a good job i can afford the stuff. Berghaus stuff is great. This jacket is a good example of how good their gear is. It is super light weight, very nice looking and has a couple of useful features too.The jacket is fully waterproof, always good because if you do use it in England you will undoubtedly get wet.It has drawstrings at the neck/hood area and at the hem of the jacket which enable you to get the seal nice and tight, essentially trapping warm air in and stopping the wind and rain from penetrating. The fact this has a couple of good sized pockets is a win for me too. All too often waterproof jackets have no pockets. The pockets are a good thing. Lastly the look of this jacket. It's a good looking jacket. I have the carbon coloured one which is a dark blue/charcoal colour. It has a nice looking red zipper on the pockets and as the main zip.Incidentally the zips are good too. I have found that even in some heavy rain the pockets are dry inside.Overall then TL:DR. It's a lovely jacket, looks nice, good waterproofing and a British company based in the North East. What is not to like!

I have the Berghaus fleece which I love so when I saw this water proof jacket thought be great to wear over. The jacket is amazingly well made as I would expect.Well sealed seams, real top quality smooth running zips. The cuffs have Velcro so you can pull tight round wrist and neck zips up high and hood can be adjusted. This will keep you dry and protect you from weather.Has 2 side pockets and as in all Berghaus jackets they are deep and securely zipped.I was so excited to try it out.So rainy day in London I wore t shirt,Berghaus fleece which is very thin and put waterproof jacket over and it was so tight, wouldn’t even close at front??I had to check I’d ordered medium and not been sent small by accident.I am a size 14 on top and this was so small,my daughter tried it on and it was just a little loose but she is size 8? I realise these are made for men but I like the style but I did ask my husband to try,he is normally a large but couldn’t even get his arms in on medium would have torn it if continued to try.I have given 4 stars because quality of jacket is excellent and covered by lifetime guarantee but sizing is terrible, you need to order next size up or possibly 2 sizes up if intend to wear over layers or jumpers

I've already got a Berghaus Hydroshell Elite lightweight waterproof jacket which has worked perfectly (ie been waterproof) for over three years, so I was very pleased to be offered this one to try.I received a medium one (the same size as my existing one) so I knew it would fit okay. I'm 5'10", slim and with about a 40-42" chest. It's more of a traditional waterproof fabric than the Hydroshell stuff but it seems robust, light, very well assembled (in Thailand) and you can adjust the hood, cuffs and bottom edge. There are two zipped pockets. There's no separate collar, but it still looks smart with the hood up or down. You'll need to buy one a bit bigger than you expect if you're going to wear several layers underneath it,but to me it's more of a warmer months jacket and you'll probably buy a different one with the usual removable fleece (etc, etc) if you want something for the winter. It's obviously early days yet so longevity will have to wait (although their lifetime guarantee is reassuringly excellent), but for a Berghaus jacket, I think it's well priced and I'm very happy to recommend it to you.

I agree with some of the reviewers that the sizing of this is a bit unusual, but for my part, it is a good thing because I get the long arms I require along with a fairly slim tummy area (not that I'm slim, but I like it to sit tight around the bottom/tummy area). There is still plenty of room for moving freely and the bottom of the jacket doesn't "crawl" up under the bag.I was worried at first that it wouldn't breathe well because whereas it is very thin and light to carry, the inside materials feel very much like a standard raincoat. However, I had no issues when I walked to and from work this week. I wore a sweater and a fleece under and the temperature is about 10 degrees. It kept me warm without gathering the dreaded condensation on the inside, so that's a great result. It was only raining a bit, but there were no problems. I'll of course update if there are issues in worse weather conditions.I like the look and colours and design of it. The price is premium, but so far the quality and look have lived up to expectations.

Not one to write much reviews, but reading some previous ones made me sceptical of this purchase, hence I bought it through Amazon Wardrobe. So here is my honest review. It’s a great coat, really lightweight and makes you wonder will it ever be waterproof. But sure enough it held out the water very well.. personally I think if you went on a long hike the buildup of sweat and condensation from within will make the inside damp. My walk was 45min-1hr in a good downpour with heavy gales, to which I’m pleased to report that I remained dry inside. Time will tell of it’s longevity and keeping water out, but as always it’s all down to maintenance and looking after your coat. One word of caution, now I’m not a large frame individual and I was torn between ordering a small or medium. However I ordered a medium and it is a good fit, they appear to be a slim fit type coat.Anyhow pleased with the purchase, time will tell if it remains waterproof, if it lasts nearly as long as my NorthFace Summit Series coat then I’ll be pleased.

This Berghaus Shell Jacket has a number of positives from the quality of finish to its light weight to the very attractive sandy yellow colour. It will deal with a rain shower and some windy conditions without problem, but be clear this is not a garment that is meant for extreme weather of any kind nor does it try to pretend to be. It zips up tight at collar and waist, features a hood plus Velcro strapping. The big issue with this jacket is sizing-it is not generously cut and you need to go a full size up to feel confident that you are going to be comfortable especially if you hope to wear some substantial layers underneath. Talking of which if you do some hill walking or other physically demanding activities you may well start to sweat up in this fabric.Having said that, this is still a useful rainproof jacket which folds up small, won't weigh you down and works well in British weather. Just perhaps more suitable for walking the dog or an afternoon on the terraces than a serious trek across the moors.

Berghaus Men's Deluge Pro 2.0 Waterproof Shell JacketThe jacket. This is a waterproof coat with zipped front and two zipped pockets. It also has a fold out hood.Quality.It is very well made and the zips are strong and work well.Wearing.I have been out dog walking in it and it has certainly proved waterproof. Even the pockets keep dry after a deluge. The design works very well.Size.I usually take a large and this jacket is just about right with a thin top under it. If I had a fleece type top it would probably be too tight so I would go for a size above what you normally have to get a good fit.Overall.A good quality rain proof jacket with good pockets and fully adjustable waist and cuffs.Get the next size up if you are going to wear thick tops underneath it as the sizing is not that generous.

This is a stylish jacket that looks really good in differing shades of grey. It's very thin so it folds up small to go in a rucksack, but still offers good protection from rain due to its Hydroshell material. The sealed seams, adjustable toggle hood and hem, adjustable velcro cuffs and high neck all add to the protection. The jacket is obviously high quality, and has smooth-running, sturdy zips and deep zipped pockets. It's a slim-fit design, so if you are bulky around the stomach area or plan to wear it over heavy jumpers then you may wish to go up a size. The only flaw in the jacket in my opinion is a tiny but annoying one - there is no fabric hook on the inside to hang it up with!As such I'm either going to have to keep it folded up or sew in a hook myself, which is a shame.

Sizing is a bit difficult with this one because a large size just about fits my teen who is normally a medium top. In the pics, he tries it on top of shirt (no jumper or blazer) and I'm not sure a medium will work. Son is 6ft 3in with long arms and the sleeves are perfect. Wearers with shorter arms will be able to use the velcro strips at the wrist to hold up the sleeves if necessary. The hood is a good size and it comes with ties at the back to fit a variety of head shapes and sizes. Hem also has ties. Pockets are good and deep. Jacket is warm and waterproof - son wears it on plain shirts (no thermal vests or jumpers) for daily school walks in winter without any complaint. Very comfortable and light. Will recommend but consider sizing up.

6"4 tall - 15 stone - overweight with a belly.I ordered the Large size and instantly regretted it, however once the coat arrived it actually fits me well! Yes it is cut slim so if you like a lot of room to move around size up, but considering my size I am very happy with the fit and it even hides my belly! The jacket is a good length and covers my long body, the arms are also long and cover my long arms. The neck is high up so when you fully pull the zip all the way up it reaches just below my nose. This is fantastic to keep cold winds away from your mouth. The zip is very well constructed, all the seams are extremely well made. Two zipped pockets at the front. This does feel more of a fashion piece rather than a utilitarian jacket.
