This is a really nice blended whisky, I've always liked Ballantines and I won't bore you with a review of its various flavours and notes but I would say that they are very subtle and quite delicate, probably due to the age of the whiskies used and as such it's quite easy to wash them out if you take your blends over ice or with water etc, just something to be aware of and maybe use a little less ice/water.The other thing I would say is if I am honest, that this a full price is quite expensive, I know it's a 17 year old from a reputable blender but I still feel it's a little pricey for me at least, personally I would prefer to get a couple of bottles of Chivas Regal for the same price,

This is a famous blend that has won many awards in the past. I stopped drinking it when Ballantines reduced the ABV to 40% - a mean and underhand trick. It is still a good blend but at over £50 needs to be presented at a higher strength rather than statutory minimum. The higher the strength the more flavour is attached. So, come on Ballantine's, you can do better than this.

This is a well balanced, cultivated blend that would easily fool many a single malt purist!Honey and floral notes with a a gentle spicy tang and a pleasing slow burn nearly matching the refinement of a good Glenlivet.Slightly over the price I'd happily pay, considering the alternatives in the price range but one I'd suggest is worth investigating.

On first opening I was underwhelmed. I think i should have let breath in the glass more. Really started to enjoy this about one third down the bottle. Would buy again. Maybe the best blend i have sampled. Will give plenty of single malts at this price point a hiding

My dad's a whisky drinker of some 50 years, knows his way around a good product, and he's raving about this one - "incredibly smooth....& with a small booja booja - unbeatable" was a recent observation. He's clearly loving it, and is normally more a malt man.

was a present and ok as product, i could buy it cheaper on duty free in airport (and save also expensive delivery cost) but i wasnt keen to take a risk if i couldnt buy and bring with me in international flight.

Oh this is sublime stuff indeed - smooth, classy, slightly smoky and a lovely full lingering finish. There's a slightly herbal quality at play - which becomes quite addictive. Highly recommended indeed

Well a friend bought this from Amazon , what can I say about this than I think this is the best blend I've ever tasted, a must have for blend lovers,- and well worth the money

One of the best blended whiskies out there. Worth the money, as good or better than many single malts. Smooth and rich, no harshness, with or without a little water.

Do not listen to the single malt snobs, this is a beautiful, deep, complex whisky. Little smoke, a bit sweet. An absolutely lovely dram well worth the money.

Superbly smooth, almost too smooth. Real mouthful with no kick. One gripe is that it was advertised as 43% when in fact the bottle that arrived shows 40%.

It's good whisky, I could write a whole load of adjectives describing nose and palate etc. but, ...well... what are words compared to taste?
