I am using this primarily to transfer and store high MB images from my digital cameras to an iPad Pro 2019 when travelling; I then copy them from the iPad to a SanDisk SSD drive. The iPad runs under iPad OS 13.3 and transfers are made using the Mac Files app.I am confused by one review which does not in anyway match my experience.It works perfectly with my SanDisk cards and both my iPad and MacBook Pro. - both of which of course have USB-C ports. Whilst I also use a SanDisk USB-C reader - which also works perfectly and has the advantage of being noticeably cheaper - this Apple reader is more compact and therefore ‘packable’ and in use appears quicker.

Ignore bad reviews on this product, it absolutely works brilliantly. I am able to send raw files from my medium format fujifilm gfx 50s at very high speeds to edit in lightroom cc. I owned the original lightning to sd card reader on an older ipad and was completely underwhelmed by it's slow and clunky performance, but that is very much not the case with the usb-c version. Highly recommended

Unlike the SanDisk SD Card reader Apple stocked when USB-C first came out, which was finicky and a general pain to use, here's something that finally works and without any issues! Speed is fast, cuts out one dongle (I'd been using the Kingston USB3 reader with an Apple USB-C to 3 converter), and appears to be well built.

If you have Apple just buy Apple cost is there for a reason! Originally bought an after market multi adaptor for my MacBook, which I had problems with connection speed, freezing and transferring. Bought the Apple SD reader to transfer RAW photographs, works a treat no problems at all.

Works perfectly with my new iPad Pro.I use it with all of the sd cards from my Fuji cameras to import raw files directly into Lightroom. Import speed is pretty fast too. Not had any issues at all and it tells you that you can safely remove the card once done.

Genuine Apple SD card reader for Apple devices with USB- C/Thunderbolt 3 ports.It’s easy to use, but a little extensive for what it is.The read and write speed is good but will depend on the SD Card being used with it.

does what its supposed to. photos easy to select and transfer. default destination in files is downloads. option to drop into camera roll not found. pricey for what it is but its apple product

Worth buying the real deal for the speed of data transfer. Yes, it is expensive and there are lots of cheap options but who's got time for sitting around waiting for photos to transfer?

Works perfectly as intended. A few years ago I used a third party Lightning SD adapter and on first use it corrupted the SD card. This is why I bought the Apple version.

It’s a shame you have to buy dongles in the first place but this isn’t too much of hassle. Works perfectly though and very fast delivery. Would definitely recommend.
