I bought both this 1/2 drive set and the 3/8 push through set. This review is for the 1/2 drive push button/switch ratchet set.Pros:Ratchet balance and feel were great. Felt like a quality tool that could take some punishment.Excellent semi-soft folding case: compact but well-laid out. Why the higher end socket mfrs don't offer similar cases is beyond me.Surprisingly nice screwdriver chuck.Nice smooth ratchet mechanism with great locking quick-release button.Cons:The set as a whole is badly compromised by the terrible QC on the sockets themselves. The indifferent laser etching (not even centered on one face--don't believe the photo),the sloppy fit on the ratchet head and the milling on the interior of the drive square where the locking ball seats screamed CHEAP. The same socket would "lock" on two/three different faces when its only supposed to lock on one. The sleeve that holds the sockets in the case was very loose meaning the sockets would nearly spill out when opening the case up--(the 3/8" sockets suffered the opposite problem). Run don't walk away from these sockets. And I wouldn't consider throwing them on an impact. While the ratchet had a solid feel and decent length it also felt unnecessarily clunky. It would be fine for occasional use but not a tool you'd want to work with all day--then again folks using 1/2" drive all day aren't really the market for a set like this.I liked the case a lot--but if you are a real grease monkey I can see this case (which is ballistic nylon wrapped around something like coroplast) getting nasty real fast. A more "gym mat" material that can be wiped down with buttons instead of velcro closure might be better. Very minor complaint though. The spinner sleeve on the extender is a good idea, but why Wera decided to go with a piece of thin plastic instead of knurled steel is kind of baffling. Obviously a weak point and another thing that just says CHEAP.Ultimately I decided to return the set--although it was difficult decision as I like the ratchet. Nonetheless keeping a $200 set just to hold onto a $65 ratchet seemed foolish and I had already made my mind up to return the 3/8" drive set for even worse QC. For $300 a very respectable SK, Armstrong, Wright set with more pieces, a comprehensive warranty, and far better fit and finish can be had--serious tools. If this set was under $100 I would consider it a good value (but still might consider Craftsman superior), but ultimately it doesn't justify costs approaching really nice mid-level professional tools. The real value proposition it offers is some innovative features, ergonomics, and a decent case. The QC was alarmingly bad though on the sockets and the 3/8"s ratchet and sockets were just as bad if not worse.
