This will be a 'triple' review, just to save myself some time. I have three pairs of Vibrams ... the KSO EVO, the V Train and the V Trail. I'll just cut and paste this review to all three. Some general background to give perspective on where I'm coming from when I review these ... I'm pretty new to Vibrams, so I've never worn any of their older models/styles. I'm also new to this kind of minimalist footwear, but I have been wearing wide, flat shoes for quite some time now ... usually Reebok Crossfits. Finally, I had been using 'toe spreaders' for a few weeks before I got my first pair of Vibrams. If you are switching from a super padded, super supportive shoe straight to ANY minimalist shoe, particularly Vibrams, your life is going to suck for a while, IMHO.KSO EVO!!Awesome! Bought these for the gym ... great shoe for lifting and movement based workouts! Wanted the laces to be better able to modify the fit ... other than that, they're like a slipper with toes! Form fitting, grippy, comfy! I did have to order a size up ... many other reviews reflect this as well. The toes are a bit shorter compared to the V Train/V Trail. These are super basic and seem to keep to the original barefoot idea that started the company ... or so it has been explained to me.V Train!!The most like an actual shoe. Has much more structure than the other two. Heavier and more rigid with the least ground feel of the three. What you'll think of these depends on your starting point ... if you go from regular sneakers to these, they're super light and minimal! If you go from the KSO EVO or something similar to these, they feel overbuilt and heavy. I got them for an 'everyday' shoe ... I wear them to work in a warehouse as well. These have a break in period ... especially the top of the foot where the straps cross. Pretty uncomfortable at first! Now I don't even notice I'm wearing them. Really like this shoe for general use, but I would stick with the KSO EVO for the gym, unless you really need something heavier or need the rope grip feature on the instep.V Trail!!I read a bunch of reviews that said these were uncomfortable, overbuilt and gave no ground feel. I feel EVERY rock, root and piece of debris. Definitely more ground feel than the V Train. Light and flexible, very slipper like. Not so sure about the 3D Cocoon technology. Doesn't feel much different to me except right on the ball of the foot. I use these for working out in the park and hiking. Not sure I would ever actually run with theses, at lease not with any speed. Nicely padded tongue, a little more cushion overall, and very comfortable right out of the box.

I won't try to make this a long review but there's the long story short - these are a training shoe first, minimalist shoe second. As someone who's been wearing VFFs for 6 - 7 years now, I have come to appreciate the various shoe models and their intended purpose.Trying to use a trail runner for road running is a no go as the sole on a trail runner isn't designed for road surfaces and impacts. As is the case with these, these shoes were designed for sport and training use and therefore have design elements reflective of such. Case and point: the rubber feeling molding that goes across the top of the foot (and the source of MUCH controversy among VFF loyalists). While I can see the point of contention regarding this design element (it does SLIGHTLY interfere with the flexibility of the shoe); I can also see why it was included (for gripping various objects with your feet while providing the necessary protection to prevent sore spots for those areas). As someone who does weighted hanging leg raises, hanging knee raises, and lying leg raises, this mold has proven to be more than worth the loss of flexibility (which isn't that much BTW).Vibram COULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT THE VELCRO STRAP AS IT IS REDUNDANT WITH THE LACES (another common point of contention and one that I totally agree with). These are a good arsenal to add to your collection and for use as a training shoe. I wouldn't run in these at all and probably wouldn't dare go on a hike with them either. But for all things training related - these are a solid pair of trainers.

I've been wearing Vibram FiveFingers for 6 years and these are the best so far! MANY lingering problems and issues were solved with the V-Train Cross-Trainer. The sizing discrepancies seem to have been solved (Some versions were sz 43 and some were sz 42 to fit me) which caused many issues with ordering different Vibrams online. They thankfully got that right a couple of years ago. To find your correct EU size, go to a shoe store and have them measure you for EU sizing. One of the biggest issues I've had on past Vibrams have been the upper shoe material itself. It was either too rubbery or a cloth material that would tear or wear away quickly, especially around and between the big toe.I would have holes there before the soles were worn out. The material on this version is MUCH stronger but a cloth polyester mix thats just right on your foot. The sole is a little harder than previous models but I assume that to allow the "Rope Climb" instep to hold up. I'd prefer a little softer so they didn't wear out so fast since I use them for road running but I'll live with it! I just burned thru the first pair of these (about 850 road miles on them) and while they aren't clean as new, they are 100% intact except for the worn out soles. Just switched to my second pair and I just purchased the third pair to make sure I had another! Will continue to buy them as long as they are available!

These are so comfy. I always loved walking barefoot as a kid and these remind me of that. Because of the woven material on top your feet feel cool in the cold weather but the good sole doesn't let the cold through from the ground. They will be especially good in the hot weather but are fabulous at letting your feet breath during exercise.I have used them for circuits class, pilates and weights work in the gym the grip is great and they're so light. They are pricy and I was hesitant getting them but am happy I invested in the V-train with the slightly sturdier sole. For the fit: I'm a female who wears a eu43 or 42 depending on the cut/fit/shake off the site. I am a eu42 in these. The only downside is that Amazon only lists them in UK sizing which can be confusing as some companies now do eu42 as a 9 instead of and 8, luckily vinram do the older way. Go with your EU size from the chart in the listing. I got the larger one first and had to exchange it but Amazon made it so easy to do that too. They are quite wide but with the lacing and velcro it just makes them very adjustable so you could wear thicker toe socks in the winter too.The box they come in is great, printed on it are the instructions for putting your vibram five fingers on the easiest way.I hope you liked them as much as I do.

Slightly hard to get my toes into since I'm not used to it, but once I get them goin' it's amazing. Great shoe and would recommend to anyone. It doesn't feel much different inside the house, which is where I decided to walk around first. I felt really comfortable wearing them, and knew it was worth taking outside. Once out on the street and in my yard, they felt even more amazing. I instantly felt the nostalgia of running barefoot as a child at the park. They're amazing! The big toe fits perfectly, while the other toe sleeves are juuuuuust slightly long. Don't worry, the shoe is sturdy and it the length will not cause you to trip. The length almost protects your toe even more, allowing the rubber bottom to position itself on the front of your toe while in motion. Anyway, I love these things, they're just a bit stiff for now and difficult to put on. I know they'll break in over time and become softer around my ankle, and I know I'll get used to putting them on soon as well. So, all in all, my issues will be solved in time. If you're going for the super minimalist feel, the added strap might be too much for you, however I advise you give it a try since they hold the laces in place so well. There's no pitter-patter while moving if the laces are tucked properly!

These are a very nice all-round pair of “foot gloves”.They suit a short, broad foot with a high arch and instep. I can’t speak for other shapes of foot; I only have two and they’re almost identical...The treads are adequate for most kinds of surface. Vibram’s trail running models are best for off-road but these would serve almost as well. The closure is by standard lace and Velcro. They achieve a really secure fit and the minimalist style just makes you want to run and keep running. They are made to encourage forefoot running and this should be built up to gradually if you’re unaccustomed to it. It’s a very satisfying, springy, low-impact way of moving once you’re used to it,but you have to give your body time to adjust and avoid overdoing it, as with anything. The “green” model is a very light shade of lime green - almost yellow. The material is durable and the heel section gives more support than you’d expect from a pair of barefoot runners. There’s decent support for the arch, too.In general, they feel more substantial than some of the more “extreme” styles of minimalist footwear, and would therefore be a good place to start to accustom your body to forefoot running.Choose a size a half or full size down from your normal shoe size.

Right now I love it. I will update this review in a few weeks to see how these hold up under various conditions i.e. hiking, lifting etc. I don't write long reviews: Scale of 1-5Grip Interior 5Grip Exterior 5Possible Strength of Quality 4Comfortability: 5 (I usually wear 8.5-9, that's the size that I got. It is a toe nail size bigger)Foot mechanic and lower extremity benefit: 10 (3 years in profession coach & certified)Day 1 7/22/17 Park (paved concrete & grass) weather was hot and humid. Feet felt great. I could feel some of the tiny pebbles that I stepped on, felt great on grass and the concrete. Sticks to your feet really well but still easy to remove.Day 1 7/23/17 Gym Tested, Dog Tested,Walk Tested, KB Tested, Deadlift TestedAs you can see I wear various shoes. I love these shoes. I've been wearing vibrams for years, and these feel like cloud-lined ninja booties after they've been broken in and warmed up. I lift, run, and walk in these. They honestly have made me hate all my other non-fivefingers shoes. *important note- when I first got these the plastic shield on top that houses the laceholes was digging into my instep wicked bad and I thought I'd have to return them. But, I was kinda stuck with them as I ordered them for a trip and they were the only exercise shoes I brought. So after wearing them in for a bit that plastic digging went totally away and they are really like a glove now. Great temperature and moisture control, excellent grip and stability (as it's allowing your foot to behave naturally which sets up your movements for proper body alignment and form, in my opinion) and has a bit more structure then other vffs. I say get em. If you're looking for a hiking or trial running shoe though, vibram makes more specialized ones. For overall gym and urban adventures tho these are the ones. The only reason they get 4 stars is because that break-in period sucked, tho it was very quick.

My original pair, purchased almost 6 years ago, finally gave up on one of the toes. Where the mesh met the rubber bottom tore, and now they're moderately uncomfortable to wear. But, I've put hundreds of miles on these. I've hiked, swam, waded, and worked out in them. The build quality was great! So I ordered the V trainversion. They seemed similar to the KMD Sport LS that I previously described. I ordered them in the same size, and almost wish I'd have chosen one size down. They're almost too big, but not quite. Perhaps they'll tighten up with some use and better fit my foot. They feel great and I really like the lace option. The stretchy bungee string on the previous pair eventually had issues holding,so that's probably the reasoning behind the upgrade. Overall, I love these shoes. I'd wear them nonstop if my job allowed, so away from work will have to do. I highly recommend the five finger design. We were naturally designed to walk barefoot, not in stiff shoes, so these really get you back to your roots while protecting your soles from the environment. 5 stars for everything!

I got these shoes for rock climbing and trailing running. So far I haven't been able to do either with them, due to timing. But their sole is very firm at the heel and ball of the foot. The orbital pattern is very good at traction on wet smooth surfaces like asphalt and concrete. The toes have great flexibility. My size (I wear a 10.5 US) was a good fit, with a 44 EU size. The only issue I had is that my toes dont quite go to the end of the toe slots, except for my big toe. So I wouldn't be able to size down to a 43 as this would be too small for my big toe. The feel of the interior lining is quite comfortable without socks. These shoes have ZERO ability to keep moisture out. They are thin enough at the toe area that dew on grass in a first step will get some moisture inside. I dont mind it as this isn't why I bought them. The laces are a bit too soft I think. They dont have enough grip on them to tie it super tight like say a converse lace. Overall, great shoe so far (day 5 of owning them) (this is my second paid of Vibram Toe Shoes).

I purchased these in 43 my foot is exactly 10 1/2 inches long from heal to largest toe. They have a bit of play so I bought toe socks to take up the space the reason I didn't return them to get the 42 s is the size jump. Some one I know purchased them and the difference was enormous I would ratherThey be a bit big than to small. I use these for gym shoes and I have no problems with them I would recommend them just make sure you get the right size or the closest size you can get .also purchased the V runs in a 43 and they fit almost perfectly, they are just a smidge too big. I also purchased the kso Evo in a 42 and they were very tight.Month or so later wish I would have tried the 42 s theseseem to have stretched some and now feel to loose should have payed attention to comments of others about that.....

So I’m not going to say I’m an expert, but as you can see from the photo I do own a few five finger shoes. These have more support than most, so they are good if you are new to these type of shoes. They run a little larger than most (most run a little small), so maybe yo can say they are true to size. I like them for everyday (shopping, go out to eat) cause being a little large protects my toes from impact. They also are a little more discrete than most of the other styles.Update- so I bought another pair, one size smaller. The toes fit much better, but the shoe feels a little tight. If I were to buy them again, I think i’d live with the bigger size (maybe stuff a little cotton in the toes so my mom (89 years old)will stop saying “your shoes are too big”

I've been wearing Vibram 5 fingers for almost 10 years. I won't train or run with anything else. With that being said, these V-Train Cross Trainer shoes have become my absolute favorite.1) It fits like a glove. All of our feet are different, therefore we all will have different experiences. But for me, these feel incredible.2) Feels very durable. It doesn't appear that they will rip or get a hole easily. They feel as though they were made with training in mind.3) I didn't think I would, but I actually do like the laces and strap combination. I have flat, wide feet therefore the laces cinch up my feet well. The strap helps with keeping the laces in place so they don't get untied in the middle of training.I plan on getting a 2nd pair in the near future!

I bought this product knowing it was made for men.I was iffy on size but research showed that a 40 was a 40 in either sex. I needed a 5-toe shoe with a wider opening to accommodate inserts for heel/arch pain and the shoe fits well with inserts in place. The toes are larger than womens but this is not a problem for me.The shoe is wider than a womens so if you are a woman with wide feet this shoe may be for you. These shoes are grippy and have served me well so far. Getting in the shoe is easier than women's most likely because of the wider opening. However, this larger opening will allow debris to get in which I solved by folding the sock over the lip.I would not use these for winter wear as they are breathable with good air circulation to the foot.

Ok. I be never had so many strange looks walking / running. But that’s ok, because I’ve had ankle problems for many years and have not been able to walk more than 1 Km without pain. I walked 5km in the Vibrams forefoot to heel and no pain. 3 gym sessions and have fantastic stability doing 1 leg squats such as Bulgarian split squats. Again no pain like I get with normal heel to toe walking. I love these and will probably buy a 2nd pair.I should add that this version has quite a thick sole so I’ve not hurt my feet on stones and tree roots so far. If your unsure just buy them. They are great.I have noticed my calf’s have been very tired of walking forefoot to mid foot but in just a week strength is building.Hope to be running again very soon.
