I knew our older cat from birth (it was a mates cat who was the mother), and shortly after 8 weeks she was homed, very smart appearance so we were happy for her to go with him, then 1 week later he brought her back, saying they don't know how to look after her, and she was not the same cat we knew, and although I said we would never have a pet again after our dog's passed, I was not going to risk her having to go to anyone else, because when I slept over there many times while helping them decorate (the place was a mess and they didn't know how to do numerous things), and she always slept with me, and one night her mother came to sleep with me as well, and she chased her away lol.Anyway 7 years on,and what ever happened has left a life long fear, she is terrified when the hoover goes on, when the door goes, when she hears other voices, when people come in, if you look out of the window too much, and even if you get up too fast, she flies up the stairs and under the wardrobe like an Exocet missile, that is how scared she is, so you get an idea of how badly affected she is from that week elsewhere, so you can get an idea of how hard it is keeping her safe and happy. Then we thought that getting her a playmate would help her, so when she was approaching her 1st birthday we got her an 8 week old playmate, initially she was fairly close with her and we thought it would develop and help her be more confident, unfortunately she didn't turn out to be a cat, she was a Ninja in disguise lol ?‍?She does not approach things in a simple way, and when she is in minx mode everything is a target, and she does not understand how to play nicely, instead she goes in for the kill, as nature has implanted on her (I have the scars to prove it lol), so when they play it often ends up in tears, so we are giving these to her as well, in the hope of making her play a bit more casually, instead of going in for the kill, but she is also affected by the work next door, because when they took a wall out she was as scared as our older cat.Now to these pills, we had cause to ask for help with her stress levels a year ago when the council sent out roofers to swap the old cast iron gutters, to modern plastic ones, so they were up and down with ladders and towers, and these eased her a bit, roll onto today, next door are having extensive building work going on for the next 6 months, with a roof conversion, and a substantial rear extension, involving the sewer line as well, so we have quite the journey ahead of us.Last time I bought these I only got 10 as it was a short period, so getting a big pack like this was a no brainer, and even after a few days, they are already making a difference to her, but the jury is out on the Ninja lol, today they are ripping into the roof structure, so lots of sawing, hammering and banging etc, I attached 2 pictures, one is when I asked her if she was OK, and she reached out to shake 'paws' lol, the other is with loud hammering and cutting going on, she is still on high alert, but as I said it's only been a few days so far, but before getting the pills, what was going on when I took the picture with her laying there, she would of been upstairs and under the wardrobe before the 3rd bang.So this alone is a major breakthrough with her, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this if you have a similar situation, BUT, Always read the label, and don't use them for long periods without a vet's backing, ours is a rare(ish) situation as laid out above, but I will be watching her each day and if I see she is becoming more relaxed with all the noise, I will start cutting back from 1 a day, to every other day and so on, and reverse it if she shows signs of stress again. But make sure you know your pets weight, if you have scales, weigh yourself, then pick your pet up and weigh yourself again holding your pet, and the excess holding your pet is what they weigh, no scales, then approximate using bags of sugar as they are set weights of KG, so figure out how many bags of sugar you would need to hold, based on what your pet feels like when holding, then just add up the totals on the bag(s) and you have a reasonable estimate of your pets weight, this is important because they have more than one strength of these, so the 75mg here are for smaller pets, if in doubt see a vet, hope this helps.

My kitty was stressed, Felliway had helped, but not totally fixed the problem till we tried Zylkene which really did the trick. Read on for the whole story...My 3yo neutered tom (who was always so boisterous and pushy) had become a timid and delicate wallflower. We've had a few changes in the house recently, and the vet suggested Felliway to alleviate the over-grooming (poor kitty was going bald and giving himself a nasty rash that got infected all the time - and trips to the vet to sort it out didn't help the stress).Felliway is great, don't get me wrong, but things have calmed down now, and even two Felliway plug-ins haven't stopped the itch/scratch cycle he seems caught up in (although its much reduced). Then we re-homed another, older, neutered tom, and kitty accepted him into the house right away - primarily because of the Zylkene he started taking the week before. When he has his zylkene, he's more cheerful and out-going, he wants to play more, wants more cuddles and attention, but sulks less, and certainly sleeps less as he's a lot more active. Now, new kitty wasn't used to being messed with all the time, and he started getting fed-up with my 3yo always wanting to play, and so the hissing and spitting started. Now they're both on Zylkene and the house is happy again, and I've reduced the Felliway altogether. They're both big cats (well, not literally!), not fat but still 5.5kilos each (bigger than the neighbour's dog! LOL), so the pack instructions say give them 150mg, which I've split into two doses, mashed into their food. (it must taste nice cause I can't get it ready fast enough!)Once Bonfire Night is out of the way, we'll start weaning them off the Zylkene, and see how we go. But so far, we've had great results: new kitty has finally settled into the house's routine and my 3yo's fur is regrowing. Its brought the cheerfulness back to his personality that was missing, and new kitty has started to trust us.It only took 48hrs to see a difference so if you're unsure, you could get a strip of 10 (rather than 100) to try them out.

I was apprehensive about medicating my anxious 8yo rescue cat, Nero, initially so looked in to the pharmacology and spoke to my vet and the animal behavior expert before ordering a trial 2 month supply. Since giving him one capsule daily and making a few recommended changes around the flat to make him more comfortable, he is now the calmest and bravest he has ever been. He's been having a capsule sprinkled on his wet food in the morning for about 6 months now (I don't even mix it in and he doesn't mind, so it can't taste bad). At first I was using them in combination with a Feliway diffuser, but now I only put that on for him if we are expecting a lot of guests. He has always been nervy and easily spooked by loud noises and sudden movements but has recently stopped hiding under the bed when I vacuum or use the hairdryer, and is getting more and more social with new people when we have visitors. He sat with me and my 18mo godson last week, and (although tentatively) even let him pet him. After I finish this box I'll give him a break for a bit and see if the bravery stays now he has learned the world isn't quite so scary, then keep them in reserve for when I'm away and we have a cat-sitter in or there's vet visit due. Overall, I couldn't be happier and I'm so pleased to see Nero feeling more relaxed and less terrified of everything, and I've seen no side-effects at all either.

Having a multi cat houshold a new female stray was introduced to the clan, one of my females who is the boss of the girls took it upon herself to show her distaste in a new female being brought into the house. She started to uriniate in large pools around the house, having never been dirty before in the nine years we have had her. At first I thought she was ill and she had a visit to the vets and blood tests done, it transpired she was stressed and was showing her dislike to the new female by urinating everywhere. Some of the boys decided to join in by marking their teritory.Having nearly pulled all my hair out a decision had to be made regarding the new girl. She had already suffered a terrible life and was wanting to be friends with all the cats.Having tried various types of plug in calmers and cleaning urine up with recomended soulutions we were at our wits end. Our vet recomended we try Zylkene and we have never looked back.Every day I open a capsule and place them in the cats food. The boss girl only eats dry food, but will happily take the capsule split open in water or dirctly to her mouth.Zylkene is non-addictive and does not drug the cats only makes them calmer it contains milk protein so I understand. It can be used short or long term. I have been using it for several weeks now and the urinating has stopped.

We have a very anxious cat (for reasons I won't bore you with) and have recently moved house to add to his woes. His main symptom - aside from being overly vocal compared to any other cat I have ever met - is that he sprays - and sprays everywhere. We had been recommended this by the vet previously but have to say on first use a year or so back (for only a few weeks admittedly) it didnt seem to make much difference.Decided after we moved house that we would give this another go - having found it on Amazon for much less than the vet was charging - and 2/3 weeks in we seem to be seeing an improvement. Certainly after just a few days the spraying lessened and we have now been spray free for over a week.As I say early days but at the moment seems to be working. We have learnt over the 3 or 4 years we have had problems though that what works for one cat doesn't neccissarily work for another so really the advice is to speak with your vet and work through the various solutions until you hit the one that works for your moggy. All I can say is that second time round this seems to be working for us without any noticeable side effect on the cat himself.Note for anyone buying though is that the tablets come as a plastic capsule and realy need to be emptied into their food or treats to get them to eat it.

Our cat came from a cat rescue centre, and had spent several months in a cage in a garage. He was the quite one, we wanted to give him a good home so we took him that day.I have always had cats so have a lot of experience, but nothing prepared us for M, he was feral scratching biting and sinking his teeth into us when we tried to stroke him , he would be so loving then turn on you for no reason. He would lay calm on the bed at night then start kicking himself in his head, it was a nightmare. He is also terrified of visitors he would hide under any dark surface and stay there until guests left, often laying in his own urine. We tried making him a high space that he could climb onto,a dark quite den he could go into, played with him so he was panting to get rid of energy, grooming, different diet, everything. Felaway did not work, the vet then suggested Zylkene. M has been on this for a month, the difference is amazing, no more kicking himself in the head, he is so loving now, I have not been bitten in two weeks ( he would attack every day) friends visited yesterday and he removed himself from the house and just came back when they left no drama, bliss. Well worth a try, it's still early days but so far it's working for us. Side effects None, the only thing we have noticed is increased grooming!!!

My eldest cat's position as the alpha cat in the household is being threatened by our youngest (as well as possibly a new cat trying to take over her exterior territory) and there have been quite a few squabbles taking place recently, normally in the middle of the night and very early hours of the morning, leading to chases taking place throughout the house and out into the garden. We took her to the vet so she could be checked for any medical problems and, whilst everything came back clear, he recommended we give her these tablets as an additional supplement to the Feliway diffuser we have in the house. The capsules seemed to have an effect within 24 hours; she became much calmer and was backto her usual self within a week (the vet recommended one 75mg tablet per day over the course of ten days). The capsules can be given whole (this is the method that works best for me as she is an easy cat to medicate) but alternatively the contents of the capsule can be mixed with food.Feliway works well in individual rooms in the house but the Zylkene has enabled us to target treatment to the one cat that has needed a little additional help, wherever she is in the house and garden. It is certainly worth a try/discussing with your vet, if your cat (or dog) is exhibiting different behaviour to normal.

We have tried other natural calmers for our Border Collie for each bonfire night as she was so hyper overfireworks noise. None worked and we were convinced we would end up this year at the vets and get her on Diazepam-which i really didnt want to do.Instead we just gave this product a try. It reminds me how some painkillers work for some humans and not with others-so it is with this product. But for our dog Lexie- wow! -what a result! Within half hour she was so chilled out and her eyes like half closed as if she been smoking dope lol.Not that she wasnt awake or alert- just her higher sensories really dulled down. Coping with the fireworks was MUCH easier for her- I wont lie and say she didnt notice them at all- BUT given the right other circumstances such as my bedroom,a mattress aside my bed in a tight corner, curtains closed and tv quite loud...well that was that was sufficient for our dog to pass this year with very little trauma.I can honestly recommend this as worth a try. It may be like us you are dubious as to whether it will work- but hopefully like us you may end up very very surprised and very very relieved and happy! I no longer fear Nov 5th next year!

Our border terrier gets very anxious and we tried other remedies such as DAP collars without success. Our vet recommended we try Zylkene. It's the best £35 we could spend. .Molly has 1x75mg capsule sprinkled on her food in the evening. The difference in her behaviour is night and day.Without Zylkene she is afraid of EVERYTHING. The slightest noise or quick movement makes her jumpy and she refuses to settle, instead, creeping around the house, afraid of her own shadow. On Zylkene she is her old happy self. There are no side effects, and we have a calm and happy dog again. These aren't a quick fix, however. It took at least a month of 2 capsules a day before our dog was noticeably different. Once,we ran out and she missed 3/4 days of Zylkene and it took 2-3 weeks to get her back to normal again. Now she's settled she has 1 capsule a day.If she has an 'episode' or we know she's going to be in a stressful situation such as going to kennels, we go back to giving 2 capsules a day. Having the ability to manage the dose is very useful.

I have a lovely Maine Coon girl, just 3 years old, who has malabsorption and IBS. On top of these two she is also extremely aggitated at all times, running away if you so much as look at her. She gets enzyme additives for the malabsorption, but that didn't cure her completely. Her number 2s were terribly terribly soft and plentyful. (I know this because I have to clean up her toilet!). Having tried Zylkene for my other Maine Coon when grooming, I thought I would try it for this one and see if it would help her IBS and her aggitation.I have given it to her now for nearly 4 weeks, and the change is noticeable. She is calmer, much calmer, without having lost her fun, and best of all, instead of filling one sandwich bag of number 2 each day, it now takes 3 days to fill one. Not only is she producing much less, but it is also less soft. She also eats more and is happier to eat, so I can safely say that it works for her.I must also say that I didn't buy the Zylkene on Amazon but from somewhere else - sorry Amazon.

My vet recommended this for one of my cats who suffers from Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disorder which is sometimes triggered by stress (although quite what a spoiled house cat has to be stressed about is beyond me).I have also used it for separation anxiety (e.g. when I go away on holiday and they are looked after by a cat sitter) and it DOES make a difference. The cat sitter was convinced I only had one had one cat as she had never seen the shy one - until we started sprinkling Zylkene on the wet food when suddenly, shy cat appeared as if my magic. It seems quite palatable - mine will eat the capsule contents out of my hand - and it is a "nutriceutical" - made from naturally occurring substances found in food (casein)and not a drug, so I feel comfortable giving it to my cats.If you have a shy, stressed out cat, give it a try. I also give it to mine in the run up to and around fireworks season as they are both frightened by the booms and bangs. It definitely helps them cope.

Our Vet suggested theses for our cat when she started behaving strangely last year just before our dog died. They worked a treat, she became more relaxed and the strange behaviour stopped very quickly. They were expensive so I went on a search for another supplier. We kept her on the tablets for about 12 weeks , there is no withdrawal problem with them and we were pleased to see her strange ways seemed to be a thing of the past.We decided to order some more and get her back on them a week before we were due to take her to the chattery for the holidays because she gets stressed in the car and thought being on them whilst she was there wouldn't harm her, just make her more relaxed.I ordered from this seller which I hadn't used before, the order came in three days which we were very pleased at, it came well packaged and does the job.I would recommend the product and seller.

I adopted a two and a half year old cat about six months ago from some folks who, as much as they tried, just couldn’t keep her due to her aggressive behaviors towards them and their newborn child. Since she came to live with me, her fear based aggression has been a source of near constant anxiety for both of us. For the last two weeks there have been renovations going on in the apartment above me and her attacks became nearly intolerable. Thankfully I found out about this product about a week ago and decided to give it a try as no amount of behavior modification or Bach flowers or calming spray or even Feliway seemed to be helping. Now, after just 5 days on Zylkene, she is playing with abandon, eating her food without trying to bury it, coming to sit on my lap, and, thank goodness, no more attacks! I can’t express how happy I am that she is no longer suffering.

Was prescribed zylkene from my vet for my cat jenx who is 12 years old. Having tried feliway and seeing no improvement (which is annoying considering its price!) im only saddened i didn't know about these tablets before! My cat suffers with nasty urinary infections caused by stress. We have another cat and its a Cant live with or without each other situation. They were rehomed together. We moved house and of course jenx got another uti. After using zylkene for a month I've just ordered some more. So impressed! My once shy cat is now purring round the feet of any visitors instead of hiding. He is even being more tolerant of my two year old son. Im so pleased as all i want for jenx is to live out his days happy and care free.I really feel this product works! And that its keeping jenx from another nasty (and costly) uti x

We have a 12 year old JRT who suddenly developed separation anxiety which would result in the onset of panic attacks, destructive behaviour and urination when we were out of the house even for a short time. After two trips to the vets to check for any physical issues the vet recommended Zylkene. I wasn't overly happy about giving him this everyday and tried everything else I could think of first but nothing really helped. After researching this product and understanding a little more about it I decided to give it a go! At first we noticed a slight difference in his behaviour not a great deal but he seemed more relaxed, now after taking for 12 days the recommended dose he is almost back to his old self.Anyone having similar problems I would recommend giving Zylkene a go but don't expect major results straight away.
