I had a small outbreak in one of my aquariums and had to quickly act since I did not have a quarantine setup for them. I used a series of Seachem products (Metroplex and Focus being the two others) that included this GarlicGuard.I ended up getting this after trying to mix the other two ingredients with food. It worked well as Focus is a great formula itself to bond the Metroplex to the food. However, the fish let a lot of it sink to the bottom, so I could only hope that the medicine escaped back into the water. At that point I decided it would be important to mix GarlicGuard into the food and medicine. I was happy I was able to find this smaller bottle at a great value on Amazon.I am further grateful that it worked out very well for mixing. I have even used it without the medicine on food and the fish react even more favorably than they do with their "favorite plain" fish food. This is a great additive, for sure. I am glad it is available as it is very important for certain diseases to be treated internally with the fish ingesting the medication. I appreciate the great products that Seachem provides. This is one of the more essential ones in my opinion.

My baby betta got sick a week before i left for vacation. He was laying at the bottom of the tank breathing heavily. I treated him with Seachems Kanaplex treatment for 3 days before i left. He was not showing any signs of improvement. I turned the heater up on his tank a little and turned the lights out and left for my trip. I returned 5 days later to find him up and swimming like crazy! It was like a miracle! I immediatley ordered this garlic guard and vitchem. His fins were destroyed by the time i got home. I feed him frozen cubes of marine cusine that i cut in little pieces and put in the tank so i did not add the vitachem or garlic guard to the food i added it directly to his tank water instead.Every day i add 2 drops of vitachem and about 5 drops garlic guard to the water. The end resluts of his recovery only a month later are AMAZING! I have added a before and after photo below. I love Seachems products. I use Seachem prime every time i clean the tank as well.

This saved my life. All my cichlids were infected with the “ich” or “white dots” or whatever the name is. Anyway I first bought the blue liquid medication and almost killed my fish cause I overdose and the white dots still on their bodies! I cleaned the tank and bought this garlic extract. At first I was a little worried cause my cichlids were very delicate at this point. I added this into their food and the next day my cichlids were swimming like crazy!! And the white dots almost gone. I’m so glad I found this, this saved my life and now this is a daily thing I use for my fish to prevent white dots or any other desease. I highly recommend!! I’m staring to feed my koi’s with this as well and they loved it!It says to keep refrigerated but I think as long as you have it in a chill area you should be fine. Also, it’s a big bottle and it will last probably more than a year.

This product is an absolute lifesaver, and my mandarin and angels can't live without it! I use this product for both freshwater and saltwater fish. When I purchased my mandarin (Jagger) about half a year ago, I was assured that he ate frozen brine shrimp. Sadly, the LFS sadly misrepresented my little guy. For about three weeks I used this product to train him to eat in one of the corners of my tank. It took using a pipette (not a baster, because he hated that), and a lot of patience, but he now eats his brine with gusto, and I owe it all to this product. I use it with my freshwater angels, and they love it. Occasionally I'll put it in with my Dempseys food, and they go bonkers.Best product made for food enhancement for your fishy buddies.

My Betta is an old man, who has trouble seeing his food and has become a finicky eater. I had to resort to using vacation feeders because he decided he didn't like any of the new pellets I was getting him. He also has an illness I've been trying to cure. I asked my cousin (an oceanographer) what I should do, and he suggested I give him garlic, because it'll help with his immune system. So, I did some research and found garlic guard - it has worked AMAZINGLY well for my Betta. He now eats all his food and even has an easier time finding it!When his food is soaked in the garlic guard, he now eats everything (and even has an easier time finding the food!)

I had an outbreak of internal parasites from a bad batch of fish shipped to me, and I started soaking there medicine in this. I heard it also helps their immune system, and well, it does seem to make their colors even brighter! Beware, it does have a STRONG garlic smell, - do not smell it directly lol you will end up on the floor!! - With that said though, I have noticed my corydoras and pleco have an easier time smelling their food after soaking it in this, so I started soaking food in this along with Vita-Chem mixed together at every meal :)

I've used Seachem Garlic Guard in conjuction with Selcon for the past 2 years with no fish diseases in my 60 gallon saltwater tank. My Kole Tang has never had ich nor HLLD. I soak all foods - Rod's Herbivore Blend, Spectrum NLS pellets, Formula 2 frozen, frozen mysis and brine shrimp with spiralina, and nori for 20-30 minutes prior to feeding 1-2 x week only. 2-3 drops on food is all that is needed maybe once a week. Too much garlic may not be good for fish. The garlic extract is powerful smelling so make sure to tightly close the cap.

When your fish look like dogs who just discovered bacon you know the product works. I used this originally to mask the taste of medicated food for a picky fish with a bacterial infection. When he cleared up and went back to regular food he gave me so much sass for not including his garlic water. I gave some to my fiance who also now has spoiled fish who go crazy for garlic soaked food. Very happy fish, the way they dance when they see us pull out the bottle is hilarious.

Although I've just started using this product I have noticed an increase in my fishes appetite. It's funny to watch them come rushing to the top of the tank when I lift the cover to feed. I have a couple of neons that have small spots of a white fungus on them. It hasn't gotten worse but it won't heal up either no matter what I try. I'm hoping this might help. I will update my review after they have been eating their food soaked in the Garlic Guard for a couple of weeks.

If I ever see a little bit of Ick on a fish I start dosing a small amount to the tank. Nothing seems to mind it, in fact, some fish swim through and suck it in to eat it! I had one fish looking pretty bad and I soaked some flake food in the garlic. Few days later no Ick.Haven't had an Ick break out since! Also, I have 3 reef tanks, two in one room, one at my desk in work. And I've never seen s vampire at any of them. Great for pouring around your bed too.

I recently purchased Seachem's Garlic Guard and I was very excited to try this product. I have a couple of finicky Bichir's, so I was curious to see how well this product would work. I soaked a cod fillet in some Garlic Guard and my Bichirs went C-R-A-Z-Y for it! I was surprised to see they didn't wait for the cod to fall to the bottom of the tank, they swan towards it to devour it! Great job Seachem, you amazed me with yet another amazing product!

Reasonably priced and it does seem to improve health and appetite in marine fish. They say soak fish food in this liquid but I sprinkle it on to cubes of frozen fish food before putting the food back in the freezer. When its time to feed the fish I put a cube of frozen food into one of those perforated plastic fish feeder devices and the fish crowd around eating the food as it slowly thaws and filters out of the small holes in the feeder.

This got my fish to eat! I had fresh baby brine shrimp that I had leftover from my guppy breeding endeavor and after a week of only eating that, my fish became extremely addicted to the quality. I sprinkle Hikari Micro-Pellets into a tablespoon and add about a milliliter of Seachem Garlic Gaurd, swirled it around, waited about 30s so the food can absorb it a little (makes it sink faster), and feed it to the fish. Works like a charm.

Put a splash of this with any fish food and the fish will go for it. Was struggling to get my MBU puffer to eat cockles, with no shell as he’s still a bit small, wouldn’t even touch it, kept to snails, brine shrimp and bloodworms, when I soaked it in this stuff he has actually started to nibble at it, so it does work. Not to sure about health wise but definitely attracts the fish to eat. Plus it’s SeaChem so no issues with quality.

I have a fish with swim bladder disease and she won't eat a whole pea so I make a sludge with the peas and this flavor and then attempt to hand feed her with a small syringe (no needle) - sometimes this works, other times not. As far as my other fish, none would eat peeled peas until I soaked them in this - so I hope to "keep them regular" and prevent any future constipation problems that come with eating mostly a dried food diet.
