This game is a spin-off of the Valkyria Chronicles series of games. The game has gone down a more action-rpg route than the original strategy based rpg title. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, don't get me wrong I loved the first Chronicles game, if you are looking for more of the same then I suggest you stick with that game.Story wise this game is set in the same world called 'Europa' and granted it does take a few hours for the story to develop and unfold. I have now clocked in over 9 or so hours and I am quite happily doing the free missions to level my squad of characters.Gameplay fits the mould of an action rpg, you take control of 4 characters in battle.

Wow I read some of the 1* reviews and I can't belive people just buy a game for its name without basic research like watching a trailer.It's not the same style as valkryia chronicals with turn based its now free roam waiting for a bar to fill to attack again type of game but it's more than that you upgrade your magics and choose what u wanna equip and weapons,research weapons,make you clothes with items at a clothes store upping your stats. There quiet a few charachter's to choose from and by pressing up on d pad u can changet to anyone in your party at any time. The story isn't bad but not the best told in the series but also it's not just story missons you get side missions like clear out

I love the VC series and what many people don't know about this one is that it is a spin off. It doesn't follow the style of gameplay from VC1,2 and 3 but it offers a good fast-paced and quite strategic hack and slash with element of melee shooting and mana. I appreciate this and despite the graphics and voice acting is a good style of change though the original will be superior in my opinion. The story I have to say is very engaging though it is more cutscene that gameplay I for one who love stories in games love this. If your thinking of picking this up with out playing the original it will be a good to satisfying game. If you have played the original it will be a hit or miss.

Looks good totally different from the original valkyria game wether that's a good thing I don't know but a good looking game in it's own right

Vastly differs from other installments in the series, but is still entertaining.
