Got this vest for my rescue dog who I don't think has ever been in water. He just panics when out of his depth and splashes around like he's drowning.Bought the medium size at first as his measurements seemed OK for the product specs but had to return it and get a large as I couldn't fasten it around his neck or chest, although he was well within the max. weight limit (he is 23kg)Took him down to the lake for a swim this afternoon for a swimming lesson - the vest helped keep him afloat as he hasn't worked out how to kick with his back legs. This keeps him level in the water and stops him splashing water in his face with his front paws as he flounders!Handle was useful for directing him and holding him steady in the water,

lovely quality and design. Not really suited to a large chested dog. My Airedale does not seem to be too large chested and only weighs 26 KG but I struggled to do it up around her chest despite the fact that it is supposed to fit up to 45kg.(the straps went around her but the Velcro, which is an integral part of the waist/chest fastening did not reach) . Interestingly she could have had a longer one which would have fitted fine, but this is the biggest one they make. I think they have the sizing wrong. (if anything my dog is underweight). The life vest took about 5 days to arrive due to the fact that it came direct from Germany where they appear to be made.

I received it yesterday so we haven't gone to the beach yet to test the floating but we tried it on and it was really sturdy and comfortable. I bought it for my Shih Tzu (5 kg) and it fits perfectly. This would also suit dogs twice- three times her size as the straps are adjustable as well as the wetsuit fabric that goes under the belly. The quality is really good and I can lift her up from the handle with ease. There is also a hook for the leash.I recommend this!

An easy to put on vest, with grab handle and clip for lead. Not had to test it out but my dog wears it without complaint. The adjustable straps enabled me to make it a good fit.Would recommend it
