This is the first activity game we’ve bought for our Staffie. Really pleased with it. It’s a good size and really sturdy. The Staffie is a bit of a tank so I’m confused by the reviews about the levers breaking as he’s pushed them and stood on them and it’s still as strong as when it arrived. He loves it. Took him a good while to suss all the different mechanisms the first couple of times but now he’s done in less than a minute. He always goes straight for the lift off cones then the sliders then the levers last. It took him a while to learn he had to walk around the board to push the second lever! The only thing that would make this better would be an inbuilt storage for the two removable cones.(Another confusion from other other reviews: these are not small parts, they are too big to be swallowed unless you have a really big dog. They could be chewed but this isn’t a game to leave your dog unsupervised with, not left down for longer than it takes to get the treats.) As it is, you have to keep the game in the box to be able to keep the parts together. Very minor detail and well worth the enjoyment my dog gets from it.

After doing my research and reading plenty of reviews I purchased this puzzle for my 7 month old staffie. He is very intelligent and learns tricks very quickly so I wanted to buy a few puzzles to keep him challenged and stimulate his brain. His first attempt took him around 2 mins and his fourth attempt in 20 seconds. I also have a 6 year old rotty and a pugalier so I thought that I’d test their skill at the puzzle. My big gentle rotty took around 5 mins and completed the game very logically and gently. My pugalier took even longer and I had to help her a little but she got there in the end. The puzzle is very well made, strong and sturdy which needs to be for my staffie as he would demolish it if left alone.I would recommend this for any size and breed of dog of any level as you can make it easier or harder. Although my staffie is a whizz at it he stills loves looking for treats.

I have a 4kg rescue English Toy Terrier who cannot walk far because of luxating patellae, common to tiny dogs, so she needs mental stimulation. This three challenge toy provides great stimualtion. On the first outing, she managed to solve the simplest, sliding cover puzzle with a little hint from me, on the second outing she operated the levers to open the covers on two more treat holes. She is not big enough to take off the cylinders which provide the third challenge; they cannot merely be knocked over, but have to be picked off. This is why I have given only 4 stars. My bigger dog would have been able to take off the cylinders but he had difficulty getting the treats out of the tiny pans so he instantly lost interest before even getting to the toughest challenge.I feel the cylinder challenge is out of keeping with the size/scale of the toy.

I have a 6-year-old Elkhound (size of a labrador, chunky, impatient). I bought this to entertain us between walks. He's got a couple of smaller "intelligence puzzles" but the components are a bit too small for him. This one is perfect, and far cheaper than many similar puzzles. We've played with it 3 times now and he has got the hang of 3 out of the 4 puzzles. I'm sure he'll get all of them soon but will still love playing with it. He is an intelligent dog but gets very excited by treats so it's a matter of calming him down, making him sit and wait, and showing him how the boxes open. He is a bit "different" from most dogs in the way he does things (he uses his paws to hold and open things rather than his mouth)so it's difficult to find toys he likes. I'll be looking for more from this range!

Bought as an activity for my 8year old jack Russell Cross. She's not the cleverest, but figured this out quite quickly. Slides around the floor when she gets a bit too eager, so suspect will not be suitable for bigger, stronger dogs. Also removable parts may be choke hazard for larger dogs. Bone levers and flaps don't look like would withstand the test of time, even for my small 6kg dog. But for now, it is an activity that would keep her busy for about 5 minutes (which is longer than any food left down for the dog hoover that she is), so does (kind of) perform task. Would not buy again. Would recommend the "mad scientist for dogs" (also by trixie) over this as took longer for her to master, spends longer time getting food, and can change the level of difficulty.

After buying our 10 month old pup many soft toys, ropes and chews and him destroying them within seconds we decided to buy something new. We started at flip board level 2 and we and the dog love it.We've found that the best thing to do is to fill up all of the holes with kibble (as it is smelly)and put it on the floor and let him figure it out. He tended to pop of the two detachable parts first then the sliders and last the flip.On his first go he needed some help but after that he was ok on his own.I'm pretty sure that if I kept refilling it this would keep him entertained for hours. As a pup that never sits down it was nice to see him lie down and concentrate on something.Would highly recommendfor anyone with a hyper, active pup.

I love my dogs getting mental stimulation from different games. I had already bought some from a well known pet store but wanted to see what Amazon had too offer, I seen this because I thought the price was very good and the reviews were good too so that ticked my boxes. It arrived quickly and I couldn’t wait to let my dogs have a go of this - they did struggle originally and were very focused on it with the treats that I had put in and it didn’t take long till they had figured it out! I enjoy using this at night time with them and it helps them use their brains a little bit! My dogs like to chew things but this has held up so is very strong if you have dogs that get fed up and decide to gointo destruction mode!

My dog has dozens of squeaky toys, although her favourite toy will always be a simple tennis ball. I thought I would try something different and this toy seemed a good way to occupy her for a while and to get her brain working! It is sturdily made and good value for money. Every morning I put small treats in the various openings and leave her to it. When she first tried it she was rather confused. She worked out how to get some treats out but not others, but every day she tried it and she gradually sussed it out. Now she can get every treat out within a matter of minutes. It is quite amusing to watch her and she clearly enjoys the activity. This is a good value toy which encourages your dog to use its brain.

I bought this for my terrier (15kg small-med dog). He absolutely loves it! First couple of attempts took a few minutes and some help, and involved a lot of frantic scratching on it haha But then he sussed it out and can do it in 30 seconds flat now! I keep a stash of small treats to hand and keep setting it up again, sometimes 10 times in a row or more, and he hasn't got bored yet. Before buying it I read some reviews saying there was a weak point on the flip-handle thingies, but i've not had that problem. He has bitten it, lifted it by the handles and scratched at it and still not damaged it, in fact you can't even see the scratch marks.Overall very happy that i bought this and good value for money.

Would be Ok for a dopey dog, but it took me longer to put the treats in, then it did for my gsd to get them out! The first time I gave it to her it literally took her 30 seconds to work it all out and get all the treats. You would need to supervise a bigger dog with this as parts are quite small. I would be afraid they would try and swallow the loose parts. Mines a chewer so as soon as the loose pieces are nudged out of their places and on the floor I pick them up. I might try a liver paste next time as it will take her longer to lick that out. If your dogs not very bright this would probably last longer, but my dog had worked it out in under half a minute. It’s a good idea so will get 4* from me.

My Welsh Collie and I were really happy with this puzzle. Ceio, was thrilled when he found he could open the windows and get a treat. He didn't take long to work out the sliding and lever actions. This is a really great idea and is quite robust but it has an "achillies heel". The neck of the lever is to narrow and weak for the possible power of the push from even a medium sized dog. In the case of my puzzle, Ceio played the game about six times before the lever snapped. Maybe in the next design iteration, the neck of the lever could be made thicker or even of a more resilient material. Even small dogs when they are excited are very strong.Would have been 5 stars if it had not broken so soon.

My dog Toby (colliexlab) needed something for his mental exercise but he also likes to destroy things.I think it succeeded for mental exercisse. He took longer the first time and got frustrated but I give him the puzzle every day after a walk and he's really getting faster at it and finding new ways of doing it. Before he would use his paws and nose a lot now he's lifting things this his teeth. Quite interesting to watchI always supervised him while using it but even if I left him to it I don't think he could make that much damage to it. It's really hard plastic. and I think the worse he's done to it is a few scratches. Still going strong after a few tantrums!

My dog Bonnie gets very excited when we take this off the shelf and though she has only got the hang of two of the activities (the pull-outs defeat her), she is clearly very stimulated having a go. A doggie friend of hers, Ursa, is confined to quarters at the moment, so we have loaned out the game to her. She also loves it, and has got the hang of everything (again with the exception of the pull-outs -- though she is getting there). Even though they understand what to do, they enjoy doing it -- so it is a good game even after the initial learning challenge is gone. I would say, however, that this needs to be supervised play (which is nice!).

Good quality, fair price. Arrived before the due date. Durability and sturdiness, its a dog toy - nothing is durable or sturdy in the right paws, supervise your dog and it is durable and sturdy. Value for money 4 stars because I have the mouse clicker and I paid, My GSD pup would give it 5 stars, she loves it. I was dissapointed, was looking for a challenge and thought the levers and sliders might keep her occupied for at least a few minutes but it took my GSD pup 2 seconds to work it out and get all her treats. even without the treats she still loved playing with the Trixie Dog Activity Flip Board 23 cm. Happy puppy happy mommy.

I have three dogs and their responde to the toy has been completely different. One of them goes mad for it, as soon as I take the toy out of the closet he gets super excited. He figured out how to get his treats easily the first time, and still will start jumping and shaking becuase he wants to play. I usually do two rounds and then stop, but he could go on hours.Second dog figured out the trick easily enough, she will open all the hides ang get her treats but she is happy with that and one round is enough.Third dog shows no interest at all even if she is usually really good with mind toys and she is extremely food oriented.
