This is one of several dog puzzles I’ve purchased to keep my 10 week-old Border Collie puppy entertained. The “chemistry set” as we’ve called it due to its appearance is a three treat-containing tubes that rotate on an axel suspended from a couple of legs. You place the treats into the tubes and choose either to leave the tops off, or place one of two tops with different sizes of openings on to increase the difficulty of the game. The challenge for the dog is to invert the tubes so that the treats fall through the openings, and they do this my using their snouts or paws to rotate the tubes around the axle. It’s quite fun to watch the dog figure it out, and depending on the breed of dog it does have the potential to become frustrating, but once sussed it is quite a good game to challenge their problem-solving skills and slow down feeding if that’s your aim.Criticisms if I have any are that the base could do with being heavier. My puppy has knocked it over a couple of times so I imagine a larger dog would knock it over very easily. Also, be prepared to be retrieving treats from under the sofa as it can launch the goodies over a wide area if your dog gives it a particularly energetic tap. On the whole though, not a bad puzzle game for your dog and reasonably priced.

I wanted to get a game for my puppy as he's constantly on the go and we all know they need mental stimulation as well as physical. He got this straight away and loves the game and he'll do a cute puppy whine when I get it out which is adorable. It was pretty straight forward to put together. It involved putting screws in the bottom to tighten and secure it all and just popping the pole through the three containers but it wasn't much work. You get 2 different difficulties (3 of each), so I'm using two with 3 holes in and one with 1 hole just to keep it interesting with my pup (and the one with 1 hole released so many treats so don't overload them!).He totally understands what to do but will get frustrated and topple it over sometimes which causes treat mayhem. He uses his paws to spin them around and will sometimes need me to show him if one is empty and he doesn't understand (I just hit one and show him how to do it).I put little bits of fish kibble in and experiment with putting nicer treats in a single one to see if he catches on (not yet!). But all in all it's the perfect game for his age and he really enjoys it and that's what counts!

What a fabulous treat toy! I bought it originally as I thought it would be a great way to occupy my bunnies. Little did I know just how MUCH they would love this! Best money I've spent on a toy in a long time!! I have 12 rescued bunnies in various pairings, and they love this beyond words. They know they get to play with it every day, and will go to it and wait for me to fill it up (I use their normal pellets, so not to give them too many treats) They caught on pretty quick when they first saw it and now they just go nuts to play. So much fun to watch them get their pellets out. There's usually always a "worker" who spins it and the "smart one" who grabs everything that falls out as quick as they can ;)but they do take turns hehe. I posted a video from our facebook page (ToffandTheBuns) to various rabbit pages and lots of people have been asking where to buy it, so I've made sure to let everyone know where to get it and how great a toy it is :DThe bunnies have had theirs for nearly a year now and love it as much as the first time :)[...]Definitely a highly recommended purchase!

I had previously bought a twirly dog activity toy and my puppy loved it, she solved it almost instantly and I was looking for something a little more challenging. This comes with all the parts and instructions in a sturdy box. It only takes a few minutes to put together - it took longer to find the right size Philips screwdriver. The treats were added and we were ready for action. This kept her amused for ages and it can be made harder with the tops with smaller holes. The test tubes turn easily and once upside down treats fall out fairly quickly. My puppy was quite confused at first - she could smell the goodies but couldn't get at them. Once she grasped that turning the tubes upside down gave her access to the treats she was off.Her tail wagged the whole time and she exercised her nose checking each tube to make sure she had eaten every scrap. Her kibble is a good fit for the tubes so it makes a nice change to feed her the occasional meal via the turn around toy.

I bought this for my family's dog this Christmas. The dog has used it a couple of times now. For the price, it seems well made and has so far coped well against our 1.5 year old dog. It's fairly easy to assemble, you will need a screwdriver though. It's sturdy, but you may need to weigh it down with something, depending on how energetic your dog is. Early days, but I think it will stand the test of time. As the instructions recommend, it's probably best to keep an eye on your dog whilst they are playing with it.It took our dog a few tries to work it out. He tried biting open the tubes at first! But it helped demonstrating it with his paw and by leaving the lids off at first. After that you can increase the difficulty by adding the different sized lids. Though you will need quite small treats to fit the smallest lid.Overall I think this is really good value and I would definitely consider trying some of the other games from this manufacture.

I have a very fussy cockapoo who has been noted as underweight by the vets. We have tried everything to make him eat more - different food, fun feeders, scattering food in the garden, warm food, fish oil etc.He now walks straight past his full food bowl and happily plays with this to get at *exactly the same* food.. he must just like the challenge?! We've noticed that he's eating much more than he was and it keeps him busy.. win win.The only things I would say against it are:- It's not massively sturdy - My dog is small (6kg) and even he knocks it over occasionally. Not a problem however a different family dog managed to knock the screw off the end of his and swallow it..- The game that arrivedis neon green and blue - a bit garish to have out in the house all the time but not the end of the world- The game on arrival was scuffed so I assume it has been returned and repackaged or scuffed during manufacturing.. also not really an issue.

My very clever beagle x cocker spaniel who has several other dog toys of this nature was flummoxed by this toy. This is not to say that she doesn't enjoy it, she just finds the unpredictability of the reward difficult to work out. Genius I say! It took her many attempts to master this, which is great, kept her busy even after the treats are finished as she can't be sure if she has got them all. That said she is a master at it now since Christmas 2020. Don't think that it might be too hard for your dog if they haven't tried games before, my Mum's 6 month old Mini Schnauzer puppy worked it out in seconds, I think my girl was just over thinking it as she had a preconception of what should happen with 'hide the treat toys'.My mum also agrees it keeps them busy for ages as they keep looking for the treats even when they are all finished by spinning the tubes over and over again.

Too tall for my chihuahua and not easy to put together. The other trixie productsnwork a lot better for my dog. This also has a lot of parts that make it difficult to clean around. Due to my chihuahua not being able to reach does not work for us but would be great for a medium sized dog up or one who isn't afraid of the treats coming flying out and the parts swinging around. My little dog managed to work out how to used the puzzles that you put and slide doors the first time but this is too advanced for her and height makes it an issue, I am hoping that maybe it can be something to work towards and why my review is only a 3.This is my issue and little fiddly screws which I found to put in and was unable to attach one properly which made it even less appealing. I did supervise my pet and it didnt take long to figure out it was an us issue and not a product one.

Provides a good mental stimulus for the dog. It isn't the biggest thing and is mostly plastic. I honestly didn't have high expectations but have to say it is better thsn I thought. Obviously you only let the dog play when you are there supervising! It's caused a lot of frustration to begin with (for the dog I mean) but he is finally starting to work it out now. It is useful for the way it makes the dog use his brain to suss it out. We habe him using one tube, without a lid. He's worked out how to get a trwat out. There's mileage in it yet with two more tubed to add and assorted lids to screw on. Since dogs need physical AND mental stimulation this is a good way to give some of the latter.

I didn't think my dog would get the hang of this but for the price decided it was worth a try. He absolutely loves it! He worked it out straight away and gets excited when he sees me filling the tubes with treats. I usually give it to him at bedtime or if we're going out as it keeps him occupied when we're not around. The only problem I have is that if you screw the end bar caps tight, you can't spin the tubes. So we have to slacken of the caps, this means that they eventually drop off and the bar falls out and tubes fall off. Luckily, we managed to find the small cap and put it back together again. So the bar could do with being a few mm longer so it can be screwed together tightly

I have a 7 month working cocker spaniel puppy who seems to have got bored with everything recently and was having tantrums. This has given him such fun, it took him a little while to figure out but now he's grasped he absolutely loves it. It makes him more interested in eating his food and he shows it off to anyone who walks in the house, going over to it and batting the food out. It gives us a peaceful evening which is lovely too. I highly recommend this product. The only thing I would say is he has managed to chew one of the top of cups when he first started off, so we can no longer get the lid on that one!

Alfie, my JRT loves this toy, I put cheesy treats in it and he will stay there spinning the tubes until they’re all done or the thing falls over - that’s the only issue with it, he can and does knock it on it’s side quite a few times but so long as you’re supervising your dog with it then it’s part of the fun. The three-hole lid doesn’t fit many treats - pretty much just the yellow packeted cheese bites ones - but the single hole lid lets more through. (Or you could be mean and put some larger treats in with the small holes - seriously it will keep your dog’s sole attention for hours trying to get them out!

I got this as a Christmas present for my rabbits thinking that they probably wouldn't find out how to use it.My surprise when Casper started playing with it and getting his pellets! Such a clever bunny! The toy has a heavy base so it doesn't move when they're playing and it has 2 different caps for the tubes, one with 3 holes and the other one with 1 big hole. I'm using the one with 3 holes because rabbits pellets are small but if you're using bigger treats you will need the other one.Casper plays with it everyday and Spirit just runs to it and waits for Casper to do his job so she can eat the pellets :D

Follow the instructions and you can’t go wrong . He doesn’t use brut force but nose and paws which I give a helping hand to stop it spinning so he gets his rewards . All three on the go with a second top just the third and last too to go . The different tops create different difficulties in getting the treats out . You start with none at first . It’s plastic . It’s one of the harder activity toys for him (a large collie) but always play supervised and no harm can come to your dog . I’d recommend it but you as the owner need to put a bit of work in yourself . If you love playing with your dog a must .

Bit smaller than I pictured. If my dog (cocker spaniel) were any bigger I don't think he could use this!I left off one cup when building to make it a bit easier for him. He's still puzzling over how it works! He knocks the cups and is delighted when treats fall out, but hasn't quite got the knack yet. Which is good, hopefully keep him busy for a good while yet!Comes with two lids for each of the cups with different hole sizes to make it more challenging as you go. :)Seems strong and sturdy. I wouldn't leave it totally unattended, as the wee man thinks he can chew the cups to get to the snacks.
