Great little cat clipper.Cat didn't like it much and had to be pinned down by two people whilst I was protected with a long canvas jacket and thick gardening gloves.Clipping a cat's claws is a dangerous business. Make sure you have covered all exits by closing and blocking doorways (and chimmneys)and wrap cat in towel except for paw to be clipped for maximum humans safety. I also take the precaution of covering her head with a little dark coloured towel to try to calm her down. (covering the head really does calm cats). Get help in case you need emergency treatment for scratches, bites and abrasions as this procedure is like trying to trim a fast spinning rose bush.If you are lucky enoough to have a calm cat who likes manicures - I envy you!Dont let my Moggie experience put you off. This is a great clippers and saves you £10 every six weeks taking your feline friend to the vet for clipping. (Getting mine into the basket for vets visit is like putting a rotating helicopter blade into a shoe box - ..but thats another story!). The clipper is small and the perfect size for cats. I have seen a friends clippers that was big and clunky and I feel it would be too easy to damage the cats paw with accidental cuts, so after seeing this I was very happy with the one I bought.I've found that spraying 'catnip' or Feliway just before clipping really makes a difference to calming her down. Good luck!

I finally decided to take clipping into my own hands. I have a one year old cat and she loves playing with me and jumping on my legs, and sometimes that becomes quite painful since she grabs onto my legs with her claws and doesn't seem to understand that I'm not her cat-tree. The vet I normally take her to is quite far away, so I can't take her there every time she needs her claws trimmed. This handy-dandy nail clipper is very easy to use, I can hold her in place so as to quickly (and carefully!) cut her sharp ends and since the clipper is very sharp it takes very little time, so she doesn't have the time to start squirming and squiggling.I remember once trying with my tiny scissors and it was a painful process for both of us: she was digging her claws into me and she was obviously not too happy to be held in place. Normal scissors simply don't make it happen, since they can't cut properly through such thick claws.A good investment which has saved me a great deal of time and money!

My cat is old and doesn't go out much these days. Her claws had become very long and uncomfortable for her. I decided to p[urchase this item first, before visiting my vet to have the claws cut. I didn't really expect it to be very good - but I was pleasantly surprised. The item was easy to use, and worked well. I needed help for cutting her front claws, simply because being a cat she did not want them touvhed! But I did manage to cut her back claws on my own. This was a new experience for both me and the cat. (She is 17 years old but has never needed her claws cut before.) I would highly recommend this item to you. Give it a try - its cheaper than the vets! and if you really struggle cutting the claws, then go to the vets. It's certainly a lot cheaper than having the vet do it! There are also plently of write ups and video clips on the internet which can advise you on how to go about cutting the claws so that you don't hurt the animal.

I ordered these claw sissors because I noticed that my cat was having a problem with her claws getting caught on carpets & furnishings. Hardly surprising considering she is 20 years old & doesn't go outdoors as much as she used to. Must admit I was expecting it to be an absolute nightmare trying to trim her claws, but I was so wrong! When they arrived, Dixie was asleep on the doormat, so I thought I'd try them straight away. She barely took any notice when I did her first front paw, then sat up and quite happily let me do the other one. The back paws were a slightly different matter, I did have to get someone to hold her still while I did them. Never having trimmed her claws before,I was very careful to make sure I only cut the very tips. The scissors really were quick and easy to use - and such brilliant value for money!

It's a very good product, easy to use but you have to be extra careful to use it. If you don't find out in advance how to use it, don't use it. It's very important to know exactly how to use it. There is a part of a cat's nail that's called "quick". If you cut it your cat will be in a LOT of pain. Just be very very CAREFUL. As my daughter is very good with handling my cat she managed to cut my cat's claws without much of a struggle. But she did it in sessions. You should do the hands first then do the feet after about at least five minutes. Overall a very good purchase.

I am a first time cat owner and resorted to buying these when we moved house and had to keep our cat in for an extended period to settle into new surroundings. (His claws got very long and it was painful when he nestled in!) If you are lucky your cat will be dozy and you can do one nail at a time. But you must get the clippers the right way round and at the right angle (otherwise it does not give a clean cut.) But with a bit of practice it saves on a trip to the vets! Good VFM.

The cutters could be sharper, they struggle through cat nails I think (they are layered), but saying that they are much better than nail scissors and the majority of the cutters we've tried (ones that cost 4x this in the shops) so overall I'd say a good purchase that we're still using months later - compared to the ones we've purchased for £9.99 in Pets at Home and returned the following week due to being useless!

I have struggled with 'closed in' clippers for so long, without any real headway, have had to ask vet to do it, which, of course, is very costly. So, when I saw these I thought I would give them a try. Success! Dogs don't know I've done it, it is so quick, such a change from the usual struggle. Yes, I would recommend these to anyone with small dogs. Mine are toy poodle/Lhaso Apso type size.

I bought these clippers to cut my pet rat's nails. They are very good for the job as they are not to big and therefore easy to manoeuvre. They are slightly smaller than I thought they would be, this does not matter to me but might do to someone looking to clip a cat's or small dog's claws. Overall a good product for the price.

Our elderly house cat was getting her claws stuck in bedding and clothing etc so I bought these clippers to give her a mini manicure. They are just the right size and perfectly sharp for snipping the ends of her claws. Please do take advice from your vet before completing any claw clipping

These are excellent clippers. I have been taking my bunny to the vet to get her nails clipped for years. Decided to try and save some money on vet bills and give it a go myself. It was so easy and the clippers have a really fine cut! Would absolutely recommend these to any bunny beginners.

This was is a great product. I tried one of the spring loaded clippers, but these are so sharp and made it so quick and easy to clip. You only need to open them a bit and then you can clip with one hand. The only challenge is keeping the cat still, but these are super quick.

These clippers have been a godsend as my cat had very sharp claws and they need clipped once a month. He does squirm but clippers are easy to use and effective so it doesnt take long. I would recommend them to anyone who is having problems with their cat scratching.

Bought these to trim my cats claws as e's still an indoor cat, they're just the right size to hold in he hand, and sharp enough to cut quickly and to avoid splitting, hardest thing is getting hold of my cat to do the job, he sees them and bounces about.

I have used these before, so knew they were good. I bought these as a present for a friend who had just got rabbits. They are easy to use.You can keep them in the packaging if you open carefully - save losing them before you need them again.
