Great clippers and certainly a hell of alot quicker than having to use my old hair clippers and scissors like I used to have to use. My Springer Spaniel was looking a little worse for wear, as I hadn`t had time to clip him for at least 3 months so his Pas where overgrown and he had curls going everywhere. These clippers trimmed him up in no time at all, and it cut the hairs off him, like a hot knife going through butter. I also noticed that they are very quiet when In use, although my dog does tend to sleep through his grooming sessions even if they were like pneumatic drill. This time he only had an hour of chilling (unlike the usual 3 hours that it used to take me to trim him). The only downside to these clippers is that the machine/head does get a tad warm, but to be fair on Wahl, the hot area does not go on the dogs skin so it is still safe to use them on your animal but i had to stop putting my thumb on the head as it got too hot to handle. I have only trimmed him once so far, but going on the first result, I would say that these clippers will cut all different kinds of hair, even the course type of hair that Jack Russels or Hounds have. It does come with a dvd, but to be honest, a lot of what it tells you is for the posher breeds but I did get a few helpful hints from it, and common sense fills in the gaps that you don`t know about Animal Grooming. It doesn't have a lot of different length heads for the hair length but I always trim my Springer pretty short so used the 2mm that came with the kit. Great Clippers and once blunt I think I will use the Wahl blade sharpening service thst is offered with these clippers, dependant on how much they charge for that service. All in all, very happy with what they have achieved and will not leave it 3 months to trim him next time, I fact, I will do him again as his paw hairs are growing long already ! !

I took my baby to a dog parlour once and it cost me £45!!! He spent 4 hours there, it was stressful for the both of us, and yes, he looked amazing!BUT! It is not just about the recurrent payments, I don't drive, and the stress to out him on a bus and spend the day out is just too much.So my brother suggested I bought one of these and I was worried because I am always so scared if messing things up when it comes to my dog. But it was easier than I thought. Yes, it is time consuming because you need to brush your dog twice, once before washing, dry him, and then brush again to take all the tangles out.The clipper does not cut tangles out,it actually gets stuck on them and it hurt the animal. So I took all I could take with the comb out and cut the most tricky ones with the scissors. But I missed a few and when the clippers reached those it would pull his fur and hurt him.You need a high table to do that. Impossible to do it on the floor or sofa. Lucky my mum has a massage table and I used that.As the DVD says, yes give time for your pet to get used to the sound and lots of love and kisses will keep them calm. The legs we messes up a bit, it was the first time we used, and we don't have practice yet - but that aside, compared to what he looked like when I took him to the parlour, he looks "almost" the same. We still need to learn the finish touches better - head, legs, etc. The pack comes with a sharp end pair of scissors and I don't trust those with pets. They move too much and without warning and I'm always scared to hurt them. Therefore I always had proper pet scissors and that's the one I used for the finish touches.Make sure you oil the blades like they advise you too. Once you start using the clippers you will see how important it is.All in all .... amazing product! Easy to use, clean and store!Never going back to the dog parlour!

Dog medium haired jack russle X (bought them so I clip my boyfriends nans dog)These clippers come in it little own kit mobile box which I thought was great and very handy. However there are no sections in side the box to hold the clippers in place so they are rocking around a bit in there so just be careful when taking them places :)They came with attachments which where plastic and good to use, I used the longest one first which did not touch the dogs hair much, so I went down in size and the only one that made the real difference was the shortest which was fine because it gave a nice short soft look, (not bald cut)so I was quite pleased that there was an attachment giving me what I wanted. You will have to careful when clipping and keep and eye on the blade and attachment as hair sometimes covers the blades. (this will affect the clipping if not removed) just give it a blow or take the attachment off and give them a quick wipe.(also watch out for them getting hot so you don't burn the dog)They did not get very hot with me, but just a bit of advise in case.I was worried about the noise of the clippers as Alf is quite a nervous dog with noises as I found out when I groomed him at college before. However these clippers where not noisy, they did not make chrokes or crackling noises, just a heavy vibration noise which did not seem to bother Alf too much. The scissors are also good for tidying the face, feet and tail. It did not take too long too clip him and I got great results, plus they came really fast. I also bought thinning scissors with mine to tidy him up more. I recommend these, great price and value.

Ordered these on Friday and they arrived the next day, so first of all I'm delighted!I purchased them to smarten up my English Springer Spaniel. I'd let his last cut grow out for far too long so his coat was very wavy, very long and also rather thick.I've used other cheaper clippers in the past and tried to be thrifty by only spending a tenner. BIG MISTAKE!You get what you pay for and they were a load of rubbish. At £38 for a professional dog groom, I am quids in on my first cut alone, so another reason to be happy.Ok, so now to use them.............Powered them on and they purred away fairly quietly. Reassuring if your dog is nervous - although ours loves to be clipped.Pushed them into his 'out of control'coat and they glided through it, much like shearing a sheep ?A second pass over the same area gave a more polished result seeing as his hair was so long in the first place.Within around 45 minutes my dog was transformed into a dog who looked like his vanity had been neglected to a show dog! (Ok, maybe not but that is purely down to my hairdressing skills and not a reflection on the clippers!)I am delighted with this product and it's only day 1. If they can tidy up my dog so impressively on the first go then I'm happy. I just hope that they continue to give fantastic results with continued use.My advice to anyone looking for dog clippers is not to waste their money on cheaper ones that don't deliver. These are fantastic and really not a bad price for the results you get.

Was looking forward for these to arrive as had cut my puppys hair with scissors and the finish wasn't good!So was a bit nervous as was my first attempt but decided to confidently get on with the job and these clippers were great! They feel professional and not flimsy at all and am glad they are corded as I did not have to wait for it to chargeThe guards are good as I used the really short one for his belly and the medium one to give him a nice summer cutThe blades do get caught in any matting so the matts will have to be removed by hand first or combed out but it gave a lovely finish and it is very 'controllable'I have a feeling with practice I will be able to do a pretty decent job and at least you get the cut /length / style you want on your dog rather than leave instructions only for them not to follow them!!PLUS this will save me HEAPS of money and as my puppy is VERY timid and nervous by nature he seemed much more calm for me to do it rather than a complete stranger and although he didn't 'like' it ie the noise of the clippers etc he let me do whatever I wanted to him as he knows I wouldn't hurt him and that this is something that just has to be done from time to time like his baths and blow drying which he hates too! lolVery happy with this purchase all in all and as I grow in confidence I reckon I wouldn't be without them!!

What a fantastic buy. I got the chance through Amazon to purchase this at a discounted price so I used that opportunity. I have been after some dog clippers for ages and already own a pair of Wahl clippers for hairdressing. Although I have no experience of hairdressing, I do my sons and husbands hair every 6 weeks. Wahl products make this so much easier as this comes with attachments and a DVD to see how to use it. I was also impressed with the tidy away case as you can keep everything together. Also not forgetting the little cleaning brush and scissors just to make up the full set, it was a bargain. The shaver was as sturdy as my other Wahl clippers and of course I cannot get mixed up with them as this shaver has a pouch on the front.I have a springer and she sheds hair. Lots of people don't shave their springer, but during really hot months my dog benefits from being clipped and as they shed hair this helps on the dog hairs in the house. I was blessed with a dog that really does love me shaving her and she will lay there all day. Your animals are also a good way of experimenting with the various size heads. They wont complain if you did not get it right the first time. Believe me my friends have long haired dogs and spend time and money having them groomed and clipped. Just save yourself the expense and do it yourself.

We have an adorable birman cat, he's a sweet lad, but with the long hair he was throwing up daily, horrible for him and us!I tried to trim his long hair with my human type clippers but they didn't cut at all, and scissors would take forever.I was pretty much resigned to having to fork out £60 regularly for a groomer to do it.I saw these and for the price I figured it couldn't hurt to have one last try, with an animal clipper. When I received them I was a bit sceptical, they looked very much like my clippers. I plugged them in and fired them up, there's a loud clack when they start but they're pretty quiet running, the cat wasn't too bothered so gave him a light stroke with them and left a lovely shaven streak! They go through his fluff like nothing. 20 minutes later and there's a much smaller cat prowling around the house. I'm pretty sure I'm lucky, he really didn't seem to mind, I think a lot of cats would try to rip your arm off if you tried this without restraining them! This was 6 months ago now, he's had several shaves since and hasn't been sick once in all that time, I think we're all much happier. This is highly recommended. I would say only shave a cat if a) necessary and b) you think you'll survive the attempt.

I use it without any of the attachments on my dogs, although I don't place the clippers against the skin as the resulting cut would be too short. One of my dogs has extremely dense curly/woolly fur and these clippers do do the job. I was even able to clip through matted fur by going very gently and slowly, using one hand to stretch out the mat, and the other to guide the clippers through it.Although my dog had never been exposed to clippers before (at 4 years old - previously scissor-cut), due to the surprisingly quiet nature of the clippers, going slowly and gently, allowing her to sniff the clippers when she wanted to, and rewarding her generously when the cut was over, by the 3rd time I used them on her,she was so relaxed she fell asleep.Free sharpening is provided by sending the blade off to London. It hasn't been necessary yet. I did purchase the Wahl Clipper Oil and Hygiene Spray Maintenance Set to help clean it and keep it in tip-top condition. This really is an excellent set of clippers. If it works on my dog's extremely thick, dense coat, I believe it will work on any coat (without using the attachments). Hope this helps.

I have a Pomeranian who I like to keep paws and the area around his 'back end' trimmed. I had originally been using dog scissors but he doesn't keep still for long and I could see an accident happening and it would just take too long, stressing him out even more.I was on the hunt for a good, cheap set of dog clippers and found these ones but on another site for nearly £30. I did a Google search and found them a lot cheaper, here on Amazon. For the price (just over £18) I am very happy with these, they do the job perfectly and will save me time, stress, worry and even money if I ever had to visit the groomers.Only 1 negative, and it's not to do with the product itself... more to do with Amazons packaging/shipment.The first one I received arrived damaged, the case was split and broken during transit so I returned it (free post via my own printer) and received a replacement within a few days of reporting the issue with my first one. Buying from Amazon (Amazon and not another seller) is great, free delivery, speedy delivery, no hassle free returns and they always seem to offer the best prices!Overall a very satisfied customer.

Great clippers but quite loud. My dog wasn't a big fan of these clippers. Took me and my girlfriend to try keep him still to get him cut using these. If you've got a dog that's not fussy or not that bothered about loud noises then they are probably perfect. They cut perfect and seem strong. But if your dog isn't keep on being cut or loud noises then I would probably avoid these. I ended up buying a set of wireless quiet clippers which he find alot better which ment a less stressful job for me too. But as the new ones battery didn't last long enough I ended up trying these again and he was fine so will probably use these more now as they cut better than the newer ones I bought.Like I said the only issue was the noise but now he is calmer and knows the clippers aren't going to attack him he doesn't really care about the noise. So I would only get these your dog has had alot of haircuts and isn't really bothered by it and if they are used to loud noises.. if they are fine then the clippers are great and you would be disappointed. But maybe avoid if your dog is timid or has previous bad experiences

I bought this ages ago, mainly to clip my springer spaniel when we are over in Spain each winter, as she sometimes gets too hot there. It has been very useful and has paid for itself many times over. I used to find it very tiresome with the guards on, but then I realised by accident that you don't need the guard on at all when you are clipping the back, sides and legs. It is done very quickly without the guard. Just have to be careful you don't cut too close to the skin - particularly on sensitive areas like the rump. Best to put a guard on for those areas where the hair is less dense.Pretty obvious that you don't use it on WET dog hair !! - would make it very difficult I imagine. It is very quiet, and doesn't disturb my dog at all. You must remember to lubricate the cutting blades with each use to keep them sharp - thus making the job all the easier.I actually enjoy doing it - my dog looks so smart afterwards - and feels so much livelier, in spite of her 12 years. People always comment afterwards on how well-groomed she looks.

I normally get my small terrier/poodle professionally clipped. During the hot weather in June she needed clipping but everywhere was booked up. I got these because I didn't want to let her become uncomfortable as her coat was so long. I have never tried to clip a dog before and was very worried about how I would get on.The clippers are very solid and well made with a range of cutting heads which are easy to change. They cut very easily, wthout pulling or dragging and were comfortable to use. It took a bit of trial and error to see what length the combs left the coat and after about 45 minutes the clippers got a bit hot. Also the mains lead got in the way sometimes, but at least there was no problem with the batteries running out. The first clip left my dog looking like I had clipped her with garden shears but that was my lack of skill and no fault of the clippers. I had another go the next day and found it a lot easier to do. My dog looks quite smart now and the clippers have already paid fo themselves!

This is a really good product. It's a bit heavy to hold but this also suggests this is a strong and efficient piece of equipment. I had never clipped out my dog prior to using these but found them really easy to use and when you follow the instructions and the video that comes with the clippers you can't really go that far wrong. My dog is unphased by the sound of the clippers except around a small part below his ears which he finds tickly as they vibrate quite a bit. They come with a little phial of lubricant and a cleaning brush, a pair of scissors (very good too) and a set of different sized clipper guides for a range of cutting lengths. I fully recommend these as a solid and easy to use tool for dog grooming.Overall I think my terrier seems to quite like the extra attention he gets while being groomed and stands well throughout the process. He's only a young dog so I think this sells the clippers as far as I am concerned - if he likes them, then so do I.

I was a bit skeptical because of some of the negative reviews but this worked really well. They look good quality and come in their own case with oil drops, DVD and blade guards of various lengths. I have a cockapoo who desperately needed clipping - she's black and hasn't been clipped since last summer. Her fur is really thick and all knotted and she must have been cooking in the heat we've had recently. These clippers managed to cut her fur, which is really thick and knotted, really well and I even got through the knots of fur after a little practice. They were pretty quiet and didn't scare her ( I think she was actually enjoying it towards the end).I couldn't use the plastic guards as her fur was too long and knotted but it works fine without them - and as the saying goes "the only difference between a good and bad cut is 2 weeks"! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these.
