I bought this for Sally, my patterdale terrier (7kg) so she can come with me on a horse riding day for my sisters birthday. Just the thing I needed! It arrived flat packed in a handy zip up bag, simply unfold it and zip the sides in place to use, goes back just as easily. The sides and base are reinforced so the bag holds it's shape excellently and feels robust. There is a side flap as well as the flap on top so you have a choice of entrances/exits. As well as the shoulder straps there are carrier handles on the top so this can be used as a shoulder bag too. The clip for her collar to make sure she can't jump out is adjustable which I thought was a nice touch. There is also a mobile phone pocket on one of the straps and a couple of zip pockets on the front - very handy. You do need to have the shoulder straps short to ensure the base is level (otherwise it digs into your back), but the straps are wide and padded and the strap connecting the shoulder straps does an excellent job at keeping everything where it should be. I have narrow shoulders so I was a bit concerned after reading some of the comments about wide shoulder straps, but when all the straps are adjusted properly the bag feels really sturdy and comfy.Sally is light but has long legs (she is 14" at the shoulder)so she only just fits in this. It's fine as she loves being carried around and rests her head on my shoulder when she is in the bag! If she was fidgety I would not feel she was safe in it as she can easily step out, so please take into account your dog's temperament when buying this if they are a similar size. My smaller terrier is 9" at the shoulder and fits in it perfectly, I could zip the top up if needed so she would be safe.I bought this weeks in advance to get Sally used to being in it before the long trek and she loves it. I have trained her to get in it herself through the side door as trying to manoeuvre her in was not going to work! I have also put a blanket in the bottom to make it cosy (though the base is a bit padded, not completely hard).Overall this is an excellent design, so many thoughtful features, obviously designed by people who would use it themselves. Feels like it will last a while too. Well worth 5 stars :)

This item was bought to carry my miniature dachshund, 5.2kg, when I'm out photographing and the terrain gets too rough for him to get over. It has a sturdy bottom, padded straps and a chest strap with plenty of mesh for air, with a top opening part, ideal height for him to sit and look out and around. The pockets are useful for carrying extras, which in this case was my equipment, filters etc. He has to enter from the side which I thought might be a problem but with the first attempt a treat biscuit inside tempted him in with no problem. The proper test came when I recently visited the Lake District, the first time was on a boat trip, the weather was not good and I put a small blanket inside for him to sit on.He went in with no problem and on returning to shore I tried to get him out for a walk, people were laughing because he had got quite comfortable and would rather have stayed in there. Walking through the mountains he went in again and was quite content. Even being photographed and videoed by others. My only complaint would be the shoulder strap occasionally slips one side, but for the price and quality I still think this is a good product. I found putting the bag on my back with him inside easy as I slipped one arm through and then used the top handle to pull it across to my other arm, keeping it sturdy and not tipping. It folds easily for storage and cleans easily with a wipe down. I like it because it is a working bag, not a fashion carrier and my little dog with a big dog temperament doesn't look silly in it. Most importantly, my dog likes it.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Trixie-2882-Connor-Rucksack-Nylon/dp/B000M2YC0K/ref=sr_1_2_m?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1465935738&sr=1-2&keywords=trixie+pet+carrierFor the price (£20) this is excellent value for money - offering both the 'backpack' strap option or the standard carry handles. Lots of flexibility for adjusting the straps to fit (including a waist strap - although not in quite the right position for me as a pretty short person!), openings for pet to go in at either end and a central 'gap' through which your (tethered - thanks to the internally fixed clip!) can actually pop their head to look around 'on the move'! The whole thing folds (pretty much)flat when not needed - and has a fairly sturdy 'floor'; some kind of blanket or floor 'pad' will obviously be needed to make our puppy comfortable, but overall I'm pretty pleased with my choice! The puppy is a 'teacup' Yorkie - so pretty small; when we got its older brother to 'try it for size', he fitted, but would not really be able to turn around if he wanted; this may, or may not,be a problem - depending on how long/far you intend to carry your dog/puppy - space would be 'confined' for a larger breed! On the flip side, it means there is less danger of your pet injuring themselves by jumping/falling around.

This Rucksack is wonderful.I bought it because I want to fly with my kitten (in cabin) very soon. The Rucksack seems to have the appropriate measurements according to the Lufthansa regulations. I have used the rucksack several times already in order to get him used to it. He seems much more relaxed in the backback than in a plastic carrier. The rucksack is very valuable as I can still carry many other things and do not need to worry about the kitten at all. There is a lot of room inside so that he can turn around easily. My kitten is about 5 months now and weighs a bit more than 2 kg. I am sure you could fit even two of them in there. The material is very good as well as dirt is easily wiped off with a damp cloth. The zips are of excellent quality. The only thing you have to be careful about is the fact that the cords may slip through the clasp. It is not a big deal once you know it. I simply put a knot at the end of each cord and the problem was solved. Please do not let that stop you from buying the item as you would miss out greatly.Overall I am very happy with my purchase and can highly recommended it.

I didn't think much about this item to be honest when I received it, I thought it will be small to house my 6kg maine coon cat. But as soon as I zipped it together (which is very easy) the cat moved in and decided that's the place he will be in from now on. I had to take him to the vet and I have to say, it was great! Even if you hand carry it, it's comfortable, light but the real magic is when you carry it on your back. My cat usually very vocal in his basket but this time he didn't even squeek. He also had enough space to twist and turn which actually pushed ME out of balance. :) The pocket at the front is easily big enough to hold vaccination papers, keys, purse etc. at the same time.I know that some people complained about the straps going lose, so when I've set up a comfortable position and lenght, just made a little knot at the end of the strap and ta-daaam, problem sorted. I haven't yet tried it out on my sausage dog as the cat doesn't allow him near to his new home, but I think he will be happy with it too. I also feel it safe for him with the little clip which clips to his collar.

I don't write many reviews but had to for this little gem. It is really good, with lots of zip openings to get doggy in or out or to leave his little head poking out if he is a nosey little chap like my Yorkie. He can see out of the mesh panels OK so I left him zipped in until he got used to it with no worry about him falling out. There is a tether fitted inside to attach to his lead / harness anyway. My dog is 7kg, quite a big Yorkie and he fits in quite comfortably, can lie down or sit up. The rucksack is excellent quality, strong and well thought out, all the things I like on a rucksack (I am a keen hill walker so have a few normal good name rucksacks). The shoulder straps are well padded with an extra straps across the front and to top of bag that provide great stability so doggy is always on the level. Well done Trixie (manufacturers).PS Like other people I did notice the shoulder straps slipping off towards the outside of my shoulders so I just did what I do with other rucksacks - just tied a spare boot lace across my chest holding them closer together, no problem.

This is a great size for carrying a ferret on short journeys, and I think it could comfortably fit two (if they're good friends). With a blanket &/or sleep sack in there, it can be a very comfortable environment; I keep mine in the lounge when I'm not using it, and my ferret is always going in & out of it when he's playing. It's also great to take on walks, so if the ferret gets tired of walking on the lead, he can climb in and watch the world go by.I can't really comment on using this for cats and dogs, but I think it would be fine, at least for short journeys. The only thing lacking is that there should be a couple of rings at the top for attaching a long strap so that you could also wear it as a shoulder bag, since there will be times when you want to keep an eye on your pet while carrying. The bag has hand straps, but it would be great if it had a shoulder strap too.

Used this for a 4.5kg cat. He fitted in OK although turning around was a bit of a squeeze and certainly no way he could stand up. Being a shy cat he was happy that he could curl up at one end and still see out the mesh at the other. Since he didn't want to escape he didn't really test the strength of the mesh with his claws; if he was really determined he might do some damage (if testing inside the house he would probably do this but wanting to be safe outside he decided to stay put).It was comfortable enough to carry this on the back - my wife did most of the carrying ;-) (I was using a different carrier for our other cat). She didn't complain about the straps being too far apart as others have done.If adjusted they seem fine.Quite happy with this for occasional use to get cats to the vet or on the bus/train.

I got this bag for my pug alphi and he fits great. The bag is strong and I had no issues with the shoulder straps being wide at all. The bag is really worth the money and has come in handy more than I thought (taking on subway, to the vet, or in supermarkets) it is really sting and comfy and has more room than you think. I would maybe consider the temperament of your cat before getting this as its claws could go through it and rip the mesh. But all round excellent bag and doesn't look like something Paris Hilton would have thank god. Must have for small dogs and animals alike. It carries a leash a water bottle a small bag of food and any poo bags with room for more.Could go on longer as its a life saver and if you have any questions just comment and I will get back to you when I spot it.

I have waited to write a review on this item just so I could put it through its paces...I have a small miniature daschund which has larger than normal joints so although he does walk i like the option of putting him in his bag for a rest after so long....I have found the bag to be just the job, however I only keep him in it for approx a mile (as he is longer than your average little dog and I wouldn't want him to become stiff in it) but what I have found is that a mile is all I can manage really because the base of the bag sticks in my back. I have tried to adjust it but I can't so therefore the bag becomes uncomfortable...its a shame because apart from that I love it and I will continue touse it until I find a different one....shame

Fantastic bag, keeps kitty safe and secure on my back. Went for a 3 hour train journey and she was absolutely fine. Much better than her usual bulky travel box, both for me and her. 4 stars because, for whatever reason, on the way back she was irritated and chewed some of the linining in the bag and made a slight rip/hole in the side, which I've since sewn up. Maybe produce future bags with a stronger material? No problems regarding shoulder strap spacing, I'm not exactly what you'd call wide or broad shouldered, but I managed just fine using the middle strap which tightens both shoulder straps together and it worked perfectly fine.On the whole, would defo recommend as a way to port kitty around!

Bought for our 14 year old Westie, can't walk far and we have another younger one so bought for a holiday as we would be out and about quite a lot. He is just about 10kg and is a smallish sized Westie and with a small blanket in the base he was quite comfy. He could only sit up in it as he wanted to see and we had to put him in by the larger side door, not easy but as he was quite tired after walking he didn't complain and after one go he was ok going in again. We found it good to give him a bit of respite on a walk or day out but would not recommend it for a long journey, unless your dog is a toy size and then it's probably a great all rounder.

What I like most about this is that it folds down flat. It's not the sort of thing that gets used daily, so being able to store it away with a minimal amount of fuss and space is important to me.It has a number of different access options and our cat likes to stick her head out of the top. There are also some useful pockets on the side to keeps things as required. It seems very strong. She has tried toscratch at it, but even with long claws there is virtually no damage. It's not padded inside at all and we usually put a blanket in there for her.Overall, good product, highly recommended.

This is the only carrier which meets the specifications for cat transportation inside the airplane cabin of some airlines (no deeper than 21 cm). The bag is nice, versatile, with many openings, straps and handles. The quality of the zippers are a little cheap, as somebody wrote in a review before, but in general this is a good product. Note: this carrier is for small animals only! My cat is only 3.5 Kg and she fits inside the bag without much extra room. If you have a dog bigger than a miniature pinscher, you might be in trouble with the bag. Perfect for kittens or puppies!

I think this will do the job. I am taking the cat on the plane with me and because of the regulations the carrier can be only a sertain hight. This is the only carrier that is the correct 21cm high.the measurements I got from the airline are so weird that I thought I would have get a bag specially made as they wereANIMAL IN CABIN SERVICE CAT IN SOFT BAG DIMS 55X40X20CMit was slightly hard to find anything that size but this fits in. The cat wont be happy as she wont be able to stretch out in the bag. but no can do.hope she wont scratch her way out of it...
