I first purchased this car seat because traveling with my tiny Pomeranian puppy in my hand was getting exhausting and I wanted to make sure he was safe in the car — mission accomplished! I now have 3 pups and have purchased 2 more car seats. I don’t know where to start on how great this product is.... the colors are bright, inside texture is great quality, the interior liner is very easy to remove and wash as often as you want, the seat is so easy to set up (and works even if you can’t wrap the seat around your car seat, you can just lock the belt). If you have very small dogs like me, the buckle the seat comes with might be a little too much, but it is easy to customize the buckle part by removing the black buckle it comes with, and adding your own keychain ring + any kind of leash coupler for multiple dogs, no-tug bungee leash accessories, or any kind of leash attachment that is ~4-6” long. If your dog is small enough I would recommend putting the car seat up at about window height to make it easy for them to look out the window / prevent car sickness! My dogs also love to nap in their seats and it’s easy to get the car seat to be completely flat if you just decline your car seat. If your dogs are small like mine you’ll have plenty of space for toys, etc.I have the orange (skybox booster), blue (rover booster), and the red (heather booster). The rover booster doesn’t have a waterproof interior liner like the other two do — but it’s not a big deal at all. For $15 less, I’d say it is just as functional. The fleece liner and mat are more than enough to contain accidents. The only added convenience of the interior liner is to make the car seat usable without the fleece liner and mat it comes with, but if you have an accident you can likely just remove the mat and use just the fleece interior liner. I would perhaps get the heather charcoal gray one if I were to purchase a blue seat again (slightly better, but also $15 more), but the rover booster is an excellent cheaper option.Really couldn’t ask for a better product for small dogs riding in the car — especially for the reasonable price!

I simply couldn't bear the thought of what could happen to my furry best friend if he were in the car with me and we were to get into an accident. My 10-lb chihuahua absolutely loves to ride in the car and stick his head out the window so I decided that it was time to do some research and find a safer way for him to ride in the car. I knew that I would be putting his car seat in the back seat because it's going to stay there permanently but the distance between the seat and the window is unusually high in my SUV. So initially I was trying to decide between the Kurgo Skybox and the Snoozer Lookout. After doing a lot of research, I determined that the Snoozer Lookout would be more comfortable for him overall, but that the Kurgo Skybox would provide better height so that my little guy can reach the window and stick his head out more easily when he chooses to do so. This is precisely why I only gave the Skybox 4 stars. The best way to describe it is that it's really just a shell. It provides no cushioning at all so be prepared to put down a cushion or a blanket for comfort. Also, you HAVE to purchase a harness to use with the Skybox. Clipping onto your dog's collar is a big no no as a sudden stop could really do some damage to your dog's neck. This brings us to my next con. The clip that comes with the Skybox is unusually large--more for a german shepherd or a doberman which is weird because those breeds would absolutely NOT fit in the Skybox. It is seriously about the size of my dog's head. So I had to go out and purchase a new clip to replace the one it came with. Other than those two things, it appears that my dog thoroughly enjoys the Skybox. He usually had some anxiety in the car without it but he seems much more comfortable now. Just in case you were wondering, my 10-lb chihuahua fits in the Skybox perfectly. I know the description says it fits up to 30 lbs but I doubt that a 30 lb dog could lay down in it comfortably--it seems as though it would be quite snug.

When my rescue Shiba inu started to become anxious on car rides I knew I needed to find something to help her. Before this item we had her harness strappled into one of those pet belts. The only problem we had was that shed still wonder the back seat, no matter how short we made the belt, shed always have room to move. The boyfriend has leather chairs too. So the moment hed break or turn a corner. Her furry little bum would slide all over. Couldnt tell you the amount of times she ended up slipping all over the place, once she slipped into the footwell and one time she got free of the belt and ended up climbing through the front seats and on me. All this between vet visits made her a very anxious passanger, who would cry and shake. When I saw this product I knew we had to give it a try. Price margin in my opinion was very high, however I decided to jump in and go for it. And I am glad I did! I now have 2, one for each of the cars. This little booster seat is amazing. We have gone from anxnious dog who cried in the car and did nothing but shake to a dog who has mastered Zen. Its made her comfortable on car rides, she can see out the window if she wants to or sleep in it, which she does a lot! Shes tried escaping the seat once (shibas are well known for being escape artists and stubborn when they get an idea) She didnt get too far due to the harness attachment. The structure of the item is great too. Its very nice and stirdy. Im not worried she will break the seat nor am I worried she will fly out if we stop suddenly. The quality of the product is great. Loads better than the cheaper seats out there.Id love it if they did a slightly bigger seat, but Shibas are quite like cats, if they fits they sits! Needless to say, I am a very happy dog mum. We now go all over the place for long walks as we know she looks forward to sitting in her seat.

This seat is a comfortable ride for my 4 month old mini schnauzer, and a really convenient way of transporting a dog. I leave the booster attached to the back seat of the car at all times so that all I have to do is attach the clip to his harness and we're good to go. He wears an easy walk harness which typically has the loop in front of his chest, but that won't work with this seat. Fortunately, the harness can be flipped around so the loop is on his back instead, so that's how he wears his harness when he's riding in the car.The booster seat liner is attached with velcro, so sometimes when my puppy is bored he likes to chew on the liner and pull it into the booster seat, which hasn't been a big deal so far.We replaced the supplied, huge and heavy carabiner with a smaller, lighter one. Another thing to watch out for - if you walk around the outside of the car, the dog may do a 360 in the booster in an attempt to follow you and may get tangled up in the harness (especially if he manages to lift a front paw over the harness when he turns). In the beginning this was an issue for my puppy. He'd get tangled up and I'd have to untangle him. Now I'm careful to only walk around the car a certain way. I'm not sure if the harness that is made to go with this booster seat would solve that problem.Overall, my puppy loves this seat. I usually throw a toy in there with him to keep him entertained. In the beginning I gave him lots of treats in the seat to make it a more positive experience. When the window by him is open, I'll catch him throwing his head back to sniff the breeze. And sometimes I'll look back and I can't see him at all because he's laying down, relaxing. At 4 months, there's LOTS of room for him to lounge. I'm hoping he'll still have plenty of room as he grows because this is a great seat.

I am beginning to really love Kurgo products! This booster seat is no exception!I needed something to keep my dachshund mix in one place on longer drives. She loves the fact that I can position this booster high enough on the seat to allow her to see out the window. I love the fact that I can keep her from flying off the seat during a quick stop or attempting to jump into my lap while we are driving. The build quality is very good, and the method for attachment to seat is very easy to use. One strap around the headrest, and one buckle strap with tension adjustment around the seat body. If installed properly with good tension, I see no way this could flip over or dump your dog out.I've tried it on the front seat of two different vehicles (SUVs) and it was very sturdy with no movement once it was strapped in.NOTE: I do have one point of contention that keeps me from giving this item 5-stars!In the photos, the collar harness looks to be your standard thumb-slider clip similar to what you see on your pup’s leash. I was disappointed when I opened my product and found that, instead of this conventional small clip, they substituted a giant and heavy carabineer-type clip. My pup isn’t very big (10lbs) so this carabineer clip is very obtrusive. In fact, it’s overkill. This booster is meant for smaller dogs. The clip provided is something my 95lb shepard/dane mix would need on one of his harnesses.Hopefully Kurgo or Amazon can make the update to their photos or reach out to me if this was not the right clip to be included (did I get a returned item that someone modified?....it looked factory sealed to me…)Again, this isn’t a deal-breaker. Everything else about this booster is awesome! I just wish the clip is what I thought it would be.

I got the SkyBox because it got good reviews and my brother choose it over the others out there for his Shih Tzu. So far it is working out well. It's very easy to take on and off the car seat. And Mystry, my 11 pound Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, seems to enjoy riding in it. I wish it had a zippered door so I wouldn't have to lift her up so far to get her into it, but none of the pet boosters I looked at had this feature. The thing that bothers me most is that it has a U shaped metal bar that is difficult to get in (once in it's permanent) and the 2 sides of the bar are only covered by the very light orange cover. Even though they are on the sides of the booster seat,I think if I made a fast corner turn Mystry could fall up against the side and be bruised by the bar. For what Krugo charges for this seat they could add some type of covering for the bars or make the cover padded instead of just a thin piece of cloth. There is a pad on the bottom that covers the bottom bar, but I think it would be good for the orange cover to be padded too. Also the restraint lead is too long. Mystry has a car/walking harness that we use all the time. It has a long loop that the seat belt is supposed to go through, but of course that really isn't needed with the booster seat, with a metal loop on the end for the leash. I can't make the booster restraint short enough to fit without tying it in knots. My sister's Havanese has a regular walking harness and I don't have to change the restraint from Mystry's setting when he rides in the seat. Maybe it wouldn't be too long for a collar, but most of the owners of small dog I know use harnesses on their babies.

I bought this 2 years ago from a Black Friday deal. The first one I received was flawed because the metal U-bar would not fit. I requested an exchange and the same thing happened with the second one, the U-bar would not fit. I swapped the metal bars and the one that came with the first booster seat fit perfectly in the replacement booster seat. The other problem with the seat was the smell. Both seats had a very heavy chemical, moth ball smell but the smell of the first seat was much stronger than the second. I returned the first seat but decided to keep the second and let it air out. It took @ a year for the smell to be gone. I'm glad that I kept the second seat because, after getting the U-bar to fit, this is a very good product. It does a great job keeping my dog safe and secure when he travels in the car. He's a 16 pound Bichon Frise and the booster seat is roomy enough for him. It also lifts him up off the car seat so he has a great view out the window. The materials have held up well and the lining and pad are washable. I paid much less for it because it was on special and would like to see it priced a bit lower because I need another one for the new puppy. I have been waiting to buy hoping that there will be another Black Friday or Lightning Deal. If not, I will probably still wind up buying this or a similar Kurgo booster seat.

This is a great solution for smaller dogs in the car - keeps them safe, out of the driver's lap, and entertained by the view on short or long drives. My dog is about 12 pounds, and 12" tall at the shoulder. He can sit up and look around, or curl up in the fleece inside the carrier to nap. This is installed on the front passenger seat, but easy to take off for a human passenger instead. Positioning for the dog's view works best when the car seat back is in the most upright setting. Strapping goes behind the seat headrest and attaches to the carrier sides with strong metal clips. The carabiner that clips to the dog's harness is powder coated steel, not lightweight aluminum - very solid!Outer and inner fabric is durable, and there's a separate quilted fleece bottom pad inside the fleece liner that also can be removed for washing. I added more padding on the top edge, just inserted some layers of cotton batting between the outer synthetic fabric covering the frame and the fleece lining that wraps over the top edge because my dog likes to rest his chin on the top surface. The only downside is that the strapping that holds the carabiner can get twisted and shortened if the dog turns around a few times in the carrier, but my dog has figured out how to untwist himself most of the time.

I brought this for my little Cavalier X puppy and he loves it, because he is elevated he can see out the window and *touch wood* he hasn't been car sick and I really believe it's because he is up higher and can see out. It also keeps him safe and contained in the car and you can open and close doors without the fear of him jumping out, plus as another says it also leaves space on the seat for your handbag, you must only use this seat with a harness though as clipping straight onto a collar would be a recipe for disaster. The only draw backs I have found are that the carabiner is rather large and unwieldy so I have swapped it for a smaller lightweight one (but I'm sure as he grows I will go back to the large one)and that he can get tangled up a bit but again I think this is due to his size and I have found filling half the box with a rolled up blanket and cuddly toy helps as it restricts the space plus gives him something comfy to snuggle up on to sleep, the third and final draw back is that it sits a bit wonky in my car but I think thats because I have silly sports seats that have silly sticky out hug your body type sides but it's fits perfectly in my husbands car with 'normal' seats, but the slight wonkiness doesn't stop it being used and very handy .

We were surprised at how well our little dog adapted to this as he is 12 years old and used to the freedom of the back seat. However, after getting a new car, we wanted to protect the upholstery. This does a great job. It keeps him contained yet he can look out the window. He can reach the window however so it's not good if you want to keep little paws away from the window. It's a bit snug for him though he can lie down just about. He's 8Kg. My one concern safety wise is that the top of the box has a metal bar at the front so if we braked quickly, he would be thrown against that which I think would injure him. Some padding would be useful. We have put our own blanket around it to give some additional padding to it.The other problem is that you need to have a split rear seat in order to secure this properly. Our back seat is divided 1/3 and 2/3 so it can only fit around the 1/3 seat. As we now have 3 dogs, we can't use them for the other dogs. One could be put in the front passenger seat but if there are two people, that is not convenient plus it still leaves one dog without a sky box. Suggestions for improvement: extra padding at top front, longer strap to wrap around 2/3 seat if more than one dog in the back seat.

My chihuahua absolutely loves his booster seat. I had to put an extra cushion in as he couldn't see over the top without one but now he can see there is no stopping him. He loves watching the world go by and will also sleep in it on long journeys. The seat is easy to fit and there is an attachment to secure his harness so he can't jump out (not that he would want to) and I suppose it acts as a seatbelt so makes your pooch more safe. You can adjust the length so that your dog can't get wrapped up in it if he/she is a wriggler. I often fit two chihuahuas in the seat if needed although they wouldn't be able to lie down etc on a long journey. My brothers chihuahua/jack Russell cross fits in itcomfortably when I'm looking after him and it seems to calm him down a lot as he is usually really bad on car journeys. He likes to look out of the back at the cars behind. It has also managed to survive his chewing episodes so far which I'm pleased with! The only complaint I have is that we have the seat in the back of the car and you can't fit the seat in and two passengers due to its size. However to overcome this you'd have to make the seat smaller which would make it less comfortable for your pooch

My 18 week old Patterdale does not like being in the car at all. It does not matter who is in the car but he is always trying to get on my lap which is not safe for him or me. He cries constantly until he falls asleep. I have tried the seatbelt attachment but he just ties himself up in it. So driving so far has been quite stressful! I am in the car a lot so need to find a resolve.I have been looking at this booster seat for a couple of weeks and decided to spend the £45 after reading all the positive reviews.I ordered it yesterday and came today.First of all I was not disappointed with the quality and feel and it was really easy to fit in car.I decided to put in the back seat so that it is there all the time and he would get used to it being there. We tried our first trip tonight he fitted in great and has room to sit and curl up. He was true to form and cried for the first 10 minutes trying to climb out but he couldn't go anywhere. He eventually calmed down and sat quietly. So now looking forward to stress free drives knowing that Nacho is safe and he can't go anywhere.I'm hoping after a few more drives he may stop crying altogether.

Okay! This seat was very easy to install, the instructions were very clear, which was great considering it was my first time using a doggie car seat. I wasn't sure how my dog would like sitting in the seat. He seemed just a little freaked out at first, but he settled in pretty quickly and seemed to enjoy being up high to look out the window. He had plenty of room to sit, stand, and even lie down for a bit. He weighs about 10 lb. But there was only one problem, and it's something I'll have to watch. My dog likes to turn around a few times before lying down. Somehow that must have impacted the carabiner, because at one point I was driving and he was starting to climb out of the seat.I pulled over to check things out and saw that his harness had come loose from the carabiner! Thankfully the window was just vented, but if it had been open he could have jumped out. I re-secured the carabiner and all was well the rest of the trip, but that was rather unnerving. I'll just have to make sure to keep an eye on that when he starts turning around. Other than that, all went well and I do think the seat is a good value for the price.

I was very close to giving this booster seat 5 stars. The seat is very secure in that the straps are strong and go around the headrest and also has straps with clips to go around the back of the seat. The straps are adjustable. The seat folds down and stores easily for when you don't need it. The seat when in use sits high enough so your dog can look out the window. It comes with a thin cushion that is easily removable for washing along with the orange liner. The outside is made of a strong material and there are small pockets for dog items. The feature I love the best is the clip that comes with it to clip onto a harness or collar for safety if braking suddenly. The only negative I would say is that this seat is for a small breed dog only and the clip for the harness is a bit big. I have a pug who is now 7 lbs. and she can curl up in it but I feel that the seat is useful for a 20 lb dog or smaller. If you have that size animal I would recommend buying it. The price is great and better yet you'll drive feeling more secure knowing your animal is as safe as he or she can be.

I wanted to use this for a while before I provided a review. When I first received this I was shocked at how small it was. Granted, they do provide you with dimensions, so that was just my own issue. I was very concerned my pup would be too big, if not now, very soon. I have had it for over a month now and I must say, my still growing puppy fits just fine. He is currently 17 lbs and may at some point outgrow it, but for now we are good. He actually LOVES his booster seat and looks forward to going into it. It keeps him from roaming in the car and raises him up enough to prevent him from getting car sick. He's only gotten sick once since we've had it. It was very easy to remove the lining and wash.It came out of the wash in great condition and fit right back into the booster with ease. When I first received it I thought I might get a little foam to put on the bottom to make it a little more comfy. Quite honestly, my pup seems happy and comfortable. Most of the time, his booster seat puts him to sleep. This was a GREAT purchase for my little guy.
