We have two large cats and this is the right size to hold them but still fit on the back seat of the car. I wouldn't say they are flimsy but they do flex because they are lightweight which is a relief when hauling two 6 kilo moggies. They have a very open, airy feel inside with a good view of the outside which the cats seem happier about than their old boxes. The front lid hatch is great for rearranging bedding or giving reassuring strokes at the vet without risk of losing the cat, although a small, determined cat could get out through it. The main catch is a little hard to get right and locate the rod through the bottom hole, mainly because the spring is very stiff - a good thing as it will no doubt get looser with time.A little lubricant where the rod enters the spring box helps a lot. The boxes do stack although not easily, there's a small recess on the bottom about the same size as the handle on top so it takes some manoeuvering to get it located but once done they are stable. What I don't like is the clips that hold the top and bottom half of the box together, they are not well attached on the top side so the whole clip can easily come away especially when the top of one clip gets caught under the bottom of the clip of the box next to it. The box stays together with one clip gone, it goes back on easily enough and I guess prevents the clips breaking but it doesn't inspire confidence and I really don't want this happening when getting cats out of a car by the roadside. It also means they don't meet airline requirements unless you do as the manufacturer suggests and secure the two halves by putting bolts or cable ties through the holes provided. The holes are small diameter so the bolts have to be very skinny yet long and are hard to obtain, you also need lock nuts to ensure they don't come undone. The two holes at the front are even smaller yet the manufacturer seems to think you can get plastic bolts in that size, all I can say is good luck finding them. I'm using cable ties but if I was disassembling the boxes to save storage space I'd have to keep cutting the cable ties and using new ones, not very practical. Maybe something like an india tag or a split pin would work but I'd rather have paid more and had locking pins included, or have a proper manufacturer add-on option.

We were concerned It may be a little large for a cat but it in use it is about purrfect. She can stretch out, stand up and move without being cramped and confined. The door is far easier to open and access than others we have tried. Ventilation is excellent with the added bonus it gives our kitty all round visibility which in turn has reduced stress and provided a better environment. The only criticism if that is because of its larger size the plastic seems a bit flimsy and it isn't as rigid as smaller boxes but then again if it wasn't like this I would suspect it would be too heavy to use.Would we buy another again - absolutely.

Our cat James is quite large so we wanted to buy a large carrier to transport him about. We searched for a little while and eventually chose this unit. The carrier itself is large enough for a large cat / small dog to be transported easily. The floor of the carrier is "bobbled" so that your pet wont slide about too easily. The carrier also "unclips" and splits in half so you could use it as a temporary bed area if you were on the road with your animal. My only concern with the unit is that the door, when unlatched and opened; feels not overly sturdy. Luckily when closed the door feels secure.

I recently purchased this carrier for my 2 cats as they have outgrown their old one. It is really easy to put up and just clicks together. It's a bargain at £17 as they are around £25 + at pets at home. The petting windows is a fab feature as one of my cats is nervous and it means I can get to him easily. The only issue I had it that it states on the instructions to buy screws or a padlock to make the carrier more secure? - Still. It's a fantastic carrier and one that I would definitely recommend

I use this for my bunny when I'm travelling away for a long amount of time(to see parents). For a small animal it makes a perfect temporary home. Really bigger than I expected, would fit any cat and small to medium dogs. The whole in the top for petting is useless as is too small and I have tiny hands. I also never used the food bowls it comes with as they are also too small.Because of it size it's a bit hard to carry. But I'm really glad I bought it, I would recommend.

I bought this for an 8 kg cat who usually squashed into a small carrier cage, wanted one for small dogs as he is the same size! Easy to put together and feels secure. I would have liked it if the screws/bolts had been included - not necessary if not going on public transport but want it secured for peace of mind. Had trouble finding the right screws and nuts, so definitely would have been better if they were included. However it is a perfect size, and has a strong handle.

Bought in amazon lightening sale for about £15.-Very easy to put together and a lot bigger than I was expecting, which is good for our cat as he can move around.-The plastic seems a bit flimsy but once put together is good enough; although not sure how it would be for larger pets.-It is actually for dogs i think, as it has Dogit written on the carrier but is advertised as suitable for cats too.Would buy again for the sale price.

Very nice pet carrier. Comfortable for our puppy to travel in and spacious, allowing plenty of room for her and her bedding. Well ventilated with a well placed 'soothing' hatch on the top (an advantage as you don't have to continually open the carrier door). Maybe not large enough if you have a dog larger than say, a mature Yorkie or similar, but probably still adequate for short journeys.

Almost gat a 5 Star Rating but as the plastic clips holding the two halves together don't seem as sturdy as the rest of the carrier I think that for use with a heavier cat/dog you would definitely need to use the "bolt holes" to secure the pieces - and they don't provide any bolts.Overall pretty happy with it though - well made and quite reasonably priced for this size of pet carrier

Finally a Houdini proof box it is quite big for my big tom cat Trevor but there are holes around to fasten with zip locks making it secure the front has a lift up and drop into place fasted which makes the front secure too you can pet your dog of car through a lift up lid on top and there is a place to store bowls for food/ water I am over the moon with this

A great cat box! I've actually used it for some feral cats that live in my back garden, I just covered the top so the rain didn't leak in and now there are 2 cats and 3 kittens all snuggled up inside it. It's funny 'cos I do have another cat house out there as well but only 1 cat sleeps in that and all the others pile into this one, so it must be good.

This is a very robust item, when my Jack Russell was a pup last year I had this on the back seat for the drive to our house in Greece, she got on very well with it. Plenty of ventilation and with a fleecy mattress very comfortable, I would leave the door open so she could use it in between looking out of the window and she made good use of it

I purchased this for my maine coon cat. It fits perfectly for a big cat or a small dog. Lots of space. Was just a bit disappointed because the top only has a small window to fit a hand, I thought it could open to let the cat stand and the transporter seems just a little bit too fragile. Besides that great product for the price.

We have recently inherited a large cat, so I bought this carrier for taking him to the vet for a checkup. It is large and sturdy, and the door catch is very easy to use (you just pull the knob up, and the door will swing open, no fiddly catches.)I am very pleased with this, and the cat doesn't seem to object to it either.

I bought this to use when taking my puppy (a 16wk old JR) to the vets etc. It was put together in minutes and was very sturdy and strong. Plenty of room for him to move around around. The opening top hatch was a good idea and the added on water bowl to use on the go was handy.Fast delivery and brilliant value for money.
