Tomatin 12 is incredibly underrated. One of my go-to smooth highland drams. Chase that peat on the second dram with another scotch, because this is a proper Tuesday night drink that won't put a hole in you like a cask strength Islay. Second thing to consider, the 12year age statement is a guaranteed good drink, instead of the trend to have non-age-label "single malts" that are finished in sherry casks to round them off, getting them to the shelves quicker. Diageo is the evil empire; I'll keep my age labels, thank you.

Not as smooth as some single malts, but an interesting buy. Tomatin sell most of their product to the blended whisky market, but recently have been trying to expand their single malt offerings. This is a nice one to try, it's their entry level single malt and based on this I'd be interested to try some older malts.

bought for a friend who likes round aromatic whiskey: I prefer something peatier. This has a pleasant after taste. js
