In Theme Park you manage and develop a...Theme Park! This involves placing rides down and making paths about the park so people can get to all the rides and queue for them. You also put down food and drink places as well as hiring staff to help and entertain people, and to keep the park clean. What's nice about the game is that it has this creative element of placing attractions in the park but it also has a very instinctive management-economics factor where you tweak lots of variables, such as the price of food, ticket price, right down to how much ice there is in the cola you sell! There is also a development aspect where you have to decide how to manage your research between new rides, staff, facilities and larger buses (so more people can come to your park). If you like learning how to control a large system in detail, then it's a very suitable game - when you get everything just right, it's so satisfying! But how does it compare to the other versions that we all know and love? Firstly, the stylus solves a lot of problems - this is more like the PC version than console versions in that respect, and you hardly have to use the buttons. However, despite having two screens to spread the stats about, the low resolution of the DS screens does mean that the fun of seeing your park all nicely animated in detail is diminished somewhat. As described above, the gameplay is largely unchanged - they haven't removed anything major and there's still enough variable tweaking to satisfy even the most hardcore management fan.The new things for this DS version are cartoon advisors who help guide you through levels and some new rides based on the location of the park in the world. These aren't major additions but as I was expecting a straight port with nothing new, they are welcome additions. As was always the case with Theme Park, it can get frustrating when your park gets caught in a dead end of diminishing returns and stagnancy. The level structure of the game largely addresses this but there was the occasional stalemate where I felt I hadn't done anything wrong but was still being made to suffer.Overall though it's a neat little port and a lot of fun.

As blasts from the past go, the re-appearance of the classic game Theme Park on the Nintendo DS is a distinctly pleasurable one. Thankfully it is not just an exercise in nostalgia but an enjoyable, well-structured game that adjusts well to the stylus system of the DS.You begin by building a theme park in the United Kingdom and then, having turned a tidy profit, you move on to try your luck elsewhere. Different countries have different economic climates and maps but ultimately the rides are the same, if occasionally renamed, and the gaming experience is pretty well identical. However, it remains easy to pick up and has enough depth to enable you to take charge of ordering stocks and tradingshares if that level of detail interests you. There are a couple of additions to the PC formula - the most helpful of which is the ability to choose an advisor to help you pick prices for goods and entry to your park. This is a big help to beginners but it does remove much of the challenge from the game as you no longer have to find the right level by trial and error.Gone from the PC game is the ability to view your ride as if you are on it. This novelty feature will not be missed by those who never played the original and its removal does not alter the gaming experience significantly.A decade may have passed but Theme Park remains a hugely enjoyable game. The graphics are unsophisticated but jolly, and most importantly the gameplay remains superb. It is not flawless; the game forcing you to start from scratch once you have exhausted its options is unsatisfying and it would be nice to have some scenarios. Nonetheless, for a DS-friendly business strategy game it is one of the best options around.

OMG this is the best game ever!! Time flies when you play it. It starts with you owning £200,000 and you have to build a theme park with food outlets and rides. You have to hire staff i.e odd job men to clean up the rubbish, security guards, and mechanic to fix the rides. if the rides don't get fix then they blow up. Once the park is open and functional then you can increase the size of the park and add more rides. The bigger the park the better the rides. You have to make sure that all your customers are happy with the park, prices and the entertainment factor. There are 3 different levels - 1st level is basically watch your park and money grow with no obstacles. On the other levels you loose money to tax negoiations, and staff strikes and supplier strikes etc.The aim of the game is to make as much profit as possible so the you can sell you park for a profit and then move onto the next country and build a better more profitable park. This game is so addictive, the quality of the pictures are fantastic and seeing the little people enjoying themselves on the big dipper, log flume, merry go rounds, bouncy castles etc are really good. If you connect with another DS user at the same time you are able to negoiate with other park owners for goods, loans etc... it's great fun and I would recommed this to anyone.

i received my theme park today...i absolutely loved the original one i have for the PC.... i have so far spent a few hours playing this today and yes it is great i do hve a few gripes...1. so far that i've seen you can only save/play one park at a time on a cart... when i completed my first park in england scenario i was then told i could not prgress onto the next level unless i sold my current park, which would result in not being able to go back to the park and play in it anymore :O(2. using the stylus on the screen is so mouch easier and faster (sometimes to fast as i accidently deleted trees etc lol) but to select things you press on the box you want to select then you ahve to circle it or put a line in it with the stylus so you have to double select things...3.i liked being able to see how much profit i'd made from each shop separately in the shop menu, this doesnt show you your profit...only as an overall in your line chart graphs on a whole...so far thats all i can think of so its nothing major but i can see myslef spending many (and i mean MANY) more hours playing on this...

For those who loved Bullfrog's 1994 classic "Theme Park" this product is well worth the money. It is based on the PC rather than the Megadrive version of the game, though that probably is no bad thing. The gameplay is as solid as ever and remarkably addictive for a game of nearly 20 years antiquity which has since been surpassed by more advanced resource management sims. The downside to the game include a failure to remove the notorious glitches of the original and also only a very limited attempt at updating the game more generally when it is clear from the limited updates that have been implemented that it would have been no great chore to update the roster of attractions and shops. They've also messed around with the original soundtrack which is a bit irritating though quick to get used to. However, for all these irritations, those who loved the original (of which I am on) should not hesitate to pick up this game which offers an opportunity to re-experience one of the joys of gaming past for all owners of the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS.

You buy rides and shops and build up your park to be the best it can be.You can put a Rollercoster and a Big Dipper and monorail, you will be able to get more rides through out the game, although a little annoying sometimes, it's really fun and is just like managing a real theme park. You have to hire people and fire people improve rides and make sure the guests are happy and can find the things they need. You need to place paths and queue lines for the rides. When you have achieved your quota you sell your park and build another one somwhere else in the world. Some places at different levels of difficulty.I do like the game but it's not as addictive as Animal Crossing to me, personally. But still a really fun and good game.

I love playing the one on the pc i bort a 3DS so i had to have it and it turned out its near enough the same maybe even better! the graphics are identical too. You work your way up by building and running your own theme park and then sell the park when you have reached the targets and with the money youve made start building another in a diff country and the buildings are different like burger stands for england/usa or whatever and noodles for in japan etc. very addictive anyway. ive had this game years for the pc and i always go back to it its somthing you cant get tired of playing. Try Theme hospital too its near enough the same except your building and running a hospital :) But this ones the best!!so everyone buy it!!

This game is excellent, I did have the first theme park (DOS) not the new ones, I loved it, I liked the idea of building your own theme park, and when I saw this for the DS I got straight away. If you liked the DOS version, you'll love this because its the same graphics has the DOS version and the same layout, I got the controls in 5 minutes. To me this is a bit better because you use the control pad on the DS to move around the park, on the computer when you draw a path and you go to the edge of the screen it draws the path all the way across the park, with this you have to use the control pad to move the map, If you got a ds and loved the DOS version buy this now

I had this game years ago for another console and on the PC and this is very similar to the old version. For the first couple of parks it went so fast and I barely had a chance to enjoy the park before I had to sell it to build another park. Unfortunatly now Ive been stuck in a park for ages- built it up and followed the advisors instructions but not really getting anywhere. However, I got it a few days ago and have played it everyday for a couple of hours at a time so its quite addictive. Worth getting if you like these sim games and does bring back memories of the old theme park game.Overall, Im glad I got it.

Couldn't wait for this to come out - its a good game, always was; but i'd played this to death on my mega drive before so wasn't too sure what to expect from this one... The touch screen interface works really well, and i think if you haven't played this before then you'll get a lot out of this game. The pace seems a little high, even if you play on the slowest setting (maybe i'm just getting old!) so i found myself a little out of control at times. If you've never played the original then go for this, if you have then be prepared for a strong feeling of de ja vu

Theme Park is a brilliant and very addictive game. Once you are on it, you are on it for hours. I enjoyed the use of touch screen. The game goes quite fast so you need to be quick! The more money you get, the more rides you can buy, eg roller coaster. The bad things are when it asks you to do things that you can't do or have already got, eg rescuing someone who is stuck when there is no-one. Another bad thing is when things break down, it leaves rocks over the park which get in the way.But overall it is a brilliant game and I am glad I got it.

I think this game is great! I loved playing it on the playstation when i was younger and this the ds game is just as good! Altho it can get a bit repetitive when starting a new country and the same old rides are available... its still so addictive and great to play! If you become bankrupt its a bit annoying having to start all over again but u just need to make sure u run it properly and watch the funds going up.... only 1 bad thing about the theme park being rich .... ITS NOT REAL! :o(a really good fun game... defo buy it!!

the only issue I have with this is that the same bugs in the PC version weren't corrected for the DS version. This means you have to check your engerineers don't get stuck. There are some improvements and bug fixes that prevent some of the issues that cursed the PC version from having problems... But this bug means you have to pause check every ride before saving.Beyond that, totally worth buying this classic. In fact I'd got to say this is overall better then the PC version.

This is the kind of game the DS was made for - PC games that need the direct control of a mouse. They just don't work the same on the PlayStation. There have been a couple of versions of Theme Park now, plus Theme Park World but this is the original (give or take a few minor differences) that I enjoyed playing as a kid. And it's as addictive now as it was then.I hope Nintendo release more of this kind of game for the DS - they work so much better than platform games.

Theme park is a good game that you can not get off of when you buy it but after a while you come off of it but after a while but when you go on it again you can not come off of again. Basiclly, You create a theme park in a variety of different countries.I Recomend this game to anyone (even more so if they like creating and running places.) You can take a theme park one step further!
