This is VERY nice - especially at this price! One of the Secret Distillery Whiskys made by a larger distillery but without their name on the bottle - so it is cheaper! I'm sure someone knows where it's really from! I find the peat and smoke in this wonderful!I would say that if you are a fan of 10yr old Laphroaig, then you might like this too!

Bacon on the nose. Low oak flavour suggesting youth. Open the bottle and leave it to breath. Compared to other Islay distillery bottlings and tasting a few single cask drams from the same (suspected) distillery, I'm fairly sure this is Caol Ila. You might disagree. Get one if you like meaty, smoky Islay malts. Distinct.

I am a fan of Islay malts, but had never had this one. It is nice but rather harsher than other varieties, Ardbeg, Caol isla, etc. Like anything else it is a matter of personal preference, but I will enjoy this bottle then move on to others that I enjoy more.

Husband liked this, usually has the traditional islay single malts but enjoyed this saying it was very smooth with an aftertaste that is slightly medicinal what ever that means. Not in his buy again list but glad he tried it
