I read about their journey as a distillery. I love a sherry cask, so went for it.At the same time I purchased a Glendronach 21 and some other 12's, this beats them all. It's smooth, but has character. I was getting a lot of marzipan and some orange on the nose at one point, but I find whisky tastes and smells different on different nights I drink it. I am far from an expert and hate all the snobbery around this spirit. It's useless me describing the taste as it's so personal, but it's not harsh like I am finding the Glendronachs as of late (wasn't before)I will be picking this whisky over many others in the future. The only thing I would say I've had that might be in this league is the Tomatin 18 (for the smooth toffee)

This is one of my favourite whisky's. The sherry cask flavour is excellent and it is very smooth. I have also just tried the 12 year old that is considerably cheaper with a very similar flavour. I will probably by both again but certainly the 12 year old.

A fine Speyside single malt matured for 15 years in Sherry casks. I fine rich whisky bought for a friend who appreciates really good whisky. He was delighted with it.

Watch out Dalmore, Tamdhu has truly arrived, this has got to be one of the best sherry cask malt whisky's out there.
