There are a couple of reviews on here complaining that fruit has gone mouldy in these containers. It will if you have moisture inside the container. If you are washing fruit to store in the fridge then it should be dried thoroughly and kept in containers that allow airflow, so any moisture can escape. Generally if you buy them in containers or bags that have holes in them then they need ventilation. Also how they are kept in the supermarket can give an indication of how they should be stored - in a fridge and sealed / in a fridge and ventilated / not in a fridge and sealed / not in a fridge and ventilated. One person on here said he could happily store tomatoes for a week when they were NOT stored in air tight containers and they went mouldy straight away when they were put in airtight containers which sums it up really. Salad that is bought in sealed bags contains a level of nitrogen to help keep the contents ‘fresh’, so it best left sealed until you need it. Then when the nitrogen is released, because the bag is open, it then requires ventilation, so preferably not left in the bag. However, if any of it starts to go off while the bag is sealed then it will spread quickly if left in the bag. Cheese is another one that should NOT be kept in airtight containers. Hope this helps.

I am a huge fan of all this sistema, so when I saw this it was a must have item for me.It’s very sturdy, easy to clean and maintain. It does not stain at all.The lid is very leak proof.Ther is a little green base that is raised , that comes out, almost like a mini colander were the juice drip to the container base so the food is not lying into which can often make the food go soggy and rotten.Well this helps stop this.It also has a built in filter that never needs to be changed. It such a clever idea and works so well, especially with fruit like raspberries.During the summer my garden is full of them,so this meant I could pick a little more at one time and they would keep fresher longer in the fridge to give away for my daughter till the next week. This one is just a little small for me for me, but I love it and know now how well it works I can invest in purchasing some larger ones for other food stuffs. Def need a bigger one for the raspberries from the garden next year.Once again Sistema delivers a fantastic product.

I have been so so impressed with the food boxes. I am very happy to have found them. We often end up throwing out fruit and vegetables as we cannot eat them quick enough before they start to turn bad. I was looking for a solution to that and stumbled across these so thought I would give them a try. They seem to be doing their job! Our grapes have lasted a lot longer than usual in them. I purchased some bagged lettuce yesterday which I put straight in them so will be interested to see how that fares as it normally browns within a day of opening.I agree with other reviews, you need to ensure you are allowing for a small gap at the top so the produce is not touching the lid. Also make sure the container is dry before adding anything to them. Don't add the produce wet and it will work fine.Hoping the larger size comes back in stock soon as we need it!

I specifically bought this box to keep mushrooms fresh. I did worry a bit about the size of this box because it was advertised for berries which tend to come in much smaller packs, but I didn't want to go for the next bigger size, and it turns out that this box is a good fit for half a 250g pack of mushrooms. The mushrooms are kept nice and fresh, and most importantly you won't have any problems with condensation because of the little tray at the bottom. The 591ml capacity are probably what fits in the bottom part of the box - there's plenty of room in the lid as well, so with solid food that you can pile up, you'll have a lot more than 591ml at your disposal.

I bought some of these containers after seeing some really good reviews....I tried the first with strawberries which will usually only keep about 3/4 days in the fridge. I purposely left some in it for over a week and they were still absolutely fine. It was the same with the raspberries. I did find however that one punnet of strawberries had a few marks on them when I got them with an online order. They didn't keep so well, so the fruit has to be really fresh. I've also kept a bag of crisp salad leaves for much longer than usual. The 1.5L just fits a standard bag. I now have 5 different sizes and am delighted to say, I am extremely pleased with them.

I’ve purchased Sistema products before after I found them in New Zealand! These containers are a brilliant invention from Sistema and do exactly what it says on the label. I’m using them to store fresh fruit and vegetables in my fridge and they keep so much longer than being loose. The air space under the fruit stops it growing mouldy and it maintains its freshness much longer.Storage containers aren’t cheap but these are worthy of their price. They seal well, are easy to open and close and no issues washing them either. I love the fact that there’s a variety of sizes to cover a variety of needs. Well done Sistema.

Had seen several positive reviews for this on various sights but was still skeptical, but am pleased to confirm it actually does what it claims. I bought a punnet of grapes, stored them in the fridge as i usual do, half went in a dish as usual and the other in the sistema fresh-works 591l container. After a week the grapes in sistema pot where still firm and fresh. Even mushroom, apples and peppers were still really fresh a week later and no sign of slime on the mushrooms. Just follow the instructions given. I was so happy that I've purchased the 5 part set

Excellent. Things like the half-bowl of perfectly good salad left over at the end of the meal or a few remaining ounces of fresh, soft fruit like raspberries, blueberries and strawberries will keep in this in much better condition than in an ordinary bowl or tupperware, in or out of the fridge. Leafy salad keeps even better if a square of kitchen roll is added.Found the first one on offer at Tesco in the spring and we were so impressed with it that we ordered a second and have used them through the summer.

This box is the first of its type that I have tried. I bought this to try storing fresh herbs as I purchase them frequently. I have say that it’s prolonged the use by double. I store coriander and mint in mine. Currently have a batch that’s was bought a week ago with no sign of deterioration. I would say that my herbs last over double the length of the usual time compared to just storing in the fridge. On average about 2.5 weeks. If you regularly buy produce that has a short shelf life highly recommend.

I love Sistema, so when these new boxes came out I had to try them. I am not disappointed.Good sizes, I have the 2.6 l and the 1.5l. They both have very good sealing lids and importantly easy to remove. They come with a green mat in the bottom which helps with air circulation. The 2.6l holds 2 pots of strawberries with room to spare. The filter is for the life of the container. The 1.5l is taller than the 2.6l so check the sizes before ordering that it fits the shelf in your fridge.

As an experiment, I divided a pack of carrots. Half of them in the freshworks box in the fridge and half of them in the fridge without fresh box. Within days you can see the difference. The carrots in the freshworks box keep fresh while the reference carrots dehydrate and start goin black. The freshworks box keeps the moisture and makes sure the food does not lie in the water due to the green bottom grid to prevent rotting, which occurs if you keep them in a normal bag.

Had been looking for something to keep my salad and rocket fresh in the fridge as I was fed up throwing out the bags half full because the salad was, for want of a better word, 'slimy'. This works a treat. Have had some salad in it for over a week as a test and its still crunchy and fresh. Easy to clean by hand but also dishwasher safe in top rack. The container is a good size for salad and doesn't take up too much room in the fridge. Would definitely recommend.

This actually works! At least, it does for me. Emptied my bagged salad into this, popped it into the salad drawer of the fridge, and the leaves stayed perfectly viable for well over a week. With bagged salad there are often a few dodgy leaves even on day one so I'd recommend picking those out if you can, but this container did a really good job of delaying the usual descent into slimy unpleasantness! (Purchased from a different supplier.)

I bought this as I was fed-up with prepared salad going bad after such a litter length of time. I was apprehensive but thought I was worth a shot as I really like the Sistema brand. I am pleased to announce that after a week of use, It does indeed keep the salad fresher for longer. I also have a slightly smaller one which I have used for grapes and this too does keep them in better condition for longer. Money well spent!

Strawberries in the bin is very common in our household. I stumbled upon these whilst browsing for lunchboxes. After reading reviews and with it being on sale, I had to try them out for myself. I am very surprised with the outcomes so far. These boxes have kept my strawberries much longer than I had anticipated and stayed even fresh a couple of days after the expiry dates. A great buy, even if I have to say so myself.
