I'd been looking for a generic biscuit barrel for a while, and just happened to stumble across this whilst looking for something else. Being a big fan of Doctor Who, I knew I had to have it, and it doesn't disappoint. It's big (you could easily get two of the large packets of chocolate digestives into it) with a wide opening that makes it easy to get biscuits in and out. The rubber seal on the lid makes it air-tight (though I did have to adjust how it had been fitted to make it so; a minor issue), which is vital for any functional biscuit barrel. It feels solid, being stoneware. And it looks fantastic, a bright glossy blue with very good, sharp detailing on the police telephone and St.

Dr Who fan? Silly gadget fan? Get one of these! Bought two and they arrived a bit loose in the box which meant the lids were opening and closing very slightly, so I could hear the postie walking up the drive with them- whooshing in and out through time! Nice and big, seem to be well made, will find out on Christmas day exactly how utterly brilliant they are. But so far, I agree with everyone else's comments in that they are really fun, the lid makes authentic tardis noise when you shut it and the light flashes on and off for about ten seconds.

I bought this as a present for a family member in NZ. I want one for myself! Fabulous TARDIS sound when the lid is lifted or the lamp on the top is pressed. For this reason I had to disable the batteries to post it in case it activated in transit; I don't know what the mail staff would have made of TARDIS noises. To repeat a previous reviewer, I wouldn't put unwrapped biscuits in this cookie jar as it isn't air tight but it really is a lovely item for a Doctor Who fan. I'll be getting myself one in the New Year!

No it doesn't have any sounds but the best part about that is you can make the tardis noise yourself! This is a genuinely lovely jar and is quality enough that you may want to display it somewhere prominent, possibly not even in the kitchen! The seal is excellent so should keep the contents good and fresh! If you're buying for a friend, don't forget to fill it with Janmy Dodgers first! Being the tardis, there's plenty if room inside!

My friend (who is forty)is still an avid Dr. Who fan, so what better to buy for him than this novel cookie jar. The sound when the lid is opened is very authentic. He loves it. However I would have given it five stars but I do not think the cookies will stay fresh for long as there isn`t a rubber seal on the lid. He has decided to use it for tea bags or sweets.

I really love this Jar! It's solid and got little details, which are adorable (I'm quite fond of the door handle! Don't get me wrong it's just an elevated part with a painted handle on it, but it looks cute :) )And it also keeps your cookies fresh, due to the rubber seal on the lid ;)What better thing is there to say...? Ah yes.It. Looks. Like. The. TARDIS.

Bought as a gift for my mum. I am sure she will be delighted by it as a big Doctor Who fan. Very very slight imperfection on the lid but does not affect the usability of the product and not worth the hassle of sending it back for a replacement. Very sturdy piece. It does not feel flimsy. I think you would have to make an effort to knock it over.

This product was purchased as a gift. It arrived in great time and in excellent condition. It is a very high quality product and the rubber seal around the lid is a great addition to keep any food stored inside it from going off. I would reccomend this as the perfect gift for anyone who has a Whovian in their life that is hard to buy for.

Fortunately this TARDIS doesn't disappear with your biscuits or sweets or choccy inside so they will be very safe inside. Rubber sealed around the lid which keeps the biscuits fresh and crunchy. Very happy with it. Perfect for a Dr. Who marathon episode watching night with plenty of biscuits able to be stored inside. Recommended!

I love it.Me and my wife both love this.We aren’t using it for cookies or biscuits, it’s more a kitchen windowsill ornament, but it looks so good.It has a very tight seal, no imperfections and it’s sturdy too.It came in a large box with polystyrene covering it.It really looks the business.Great gift for any Who fans.

I bought this for a Dr Who fan the tardis sound on closing the lid is excellent however may not be so good as a cookie jar as I doubt it seals very well but I suspect we will store something else in it. Very good quality item with inner section to hold cookies (I guess to prevent crumbs getting in the works). Great laugh

I took delivery of this today and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality, nice weighty ceramic with accurate paint work, and the size is very adequate. I had looked at some other geeky biscuit barrels but found their true size to be somewhat lacking. Just like the TARDIS however, this jar is bigger on the inside...

Christmas present for my friend! The sound action is fun...didn't actually want to give it to her while it was sat on my shelf waiting to get wrapped. She doesn't use it as a cookie jar (neither would I), anything in there would go stale in a second. But still! Bigger than anticipated and fun!

I really liked this which is why I ordered it. Unfortunately when I opened it there was some damage to the lid. I was going to return it but I realised I could turn the lid around and not see the small amount of damage. If it was a gift or a lot more expensive, then it would have gone back

I bought this as a present for someone else, but when it arrived was impressed enough to wish I'd got one for myself! The sound is authentic and I just love the fact that the light on the lid, flashes blue, just as it should if it was dematerialising! Laughs and smiles all round.
