I was very happy with Asics for the past 10 years, which gave me fantastic running experience and I owe my consistency to them. However their latest models have a weak mesh and I have strong toes so I had to look for another brand. As I'm very fussy about running shoes (I run 2 x 5K a week) I spent a whole week on the internet researching and evaluating options. I arrived at Salomon and thanks to the great new service by Amazon which allows you to try before you buy, I ordered two sizes 7 and 7.5. Normally I'm size 7, however 7.5 felt more comfortable. They arrived 2 days after I ordered them, I returned the 7 and kept the 7.5. The black shoes look fantastic and as soon as I put my feet inside of them I knew these are the best trainers I have ever worn.

First I have to mention that I am a complete beginner, as far as running is concerned. I started rather incidentally a couple of weeks ago, to give my dog more exercise... First, I ran in my hiking boots. They are very good boots, fit perfectly (from Salomon), but they really slowed me down, and I had problems even doing only 2 km! I was afraid running shoes wouldn't give me the support I need at my mature age, but decided to risk it. After a lot of research I bought these shoes, since they are Salomon as well. And I am extremely happy with them. I will have to get used to the fast close thingy, but that doesn't merit a star less. When trying them on,

A very sturdy shoe, supports the foot perfectly, the sole is very comfortable, it is thoroughly waterproof and the laces brilliant. I recommend to buy a full size up, (not only half as i did) as it is fairly small. When you put the shoe on it feels very tight, but once you stand up and start walking it is surprisingly comfortable!These are trail runing shoes. I bought them for walking shoes which I use everyday walking to work and back in a city environment, mostly asphalt/concrete and they never hurt, or dissapoint.I've had them for 10 months wearing them everyday and last weekend i had the chance to actually use them for a 4 hour trail brisk walk in forest/next to the river trail.

I bought these shoes because I have started running on top of the ridge of the mountain where I live, running on pavement, stony paths, grass, bumpy ground, mud and bog. I have found them to have excellent grip and 100% waterproof. One day they got muddy so I washed them half in a stream - even so they did not let water in. If you are looking for walking shoe that isn't heavy these would tick that box, but they are perfect for off-road running.Straight out the box they have been comfortable for me. I bought a half-size bigger (8.5 instead of 8) I usually buy support shoes or use an insole, but these feel really supportive in all the right ways. I think I like the speed laces,

I've had these many times before, however my last pair of the same size were slightly too small as I could feel my big toe at the end and they were uncomfortable to walk in. I was very disappointed as it was too far past my return window as I didn't start wearing them straight away. I couldn't work it out as had always had the same size. Anyway I've tried them again and am pleased to say that these new ones so far seem back to my favourite comfy walking shoes, so perhaps the last pair were a freak pair.I am a dog walker so comfortable waterproof walking shoes are very important to me. Bought before a holiday travelling the National Parks in the U.S. I don't get on with hiking boots and at home I do more running. I wanted something I could use for most of the holiday whatever we were doing. These shoes are brilliant. No blisters - and my feet blister just looking at new shoes. The grip was amazing for clambering around in Yosemite, the dusty desserts and the concrete mountains of San Francisco. They are fairly waterproof although not totally. When it finally really hammered down my feet did start that annoying squelching - but that probably came in over the top so don't go swimming in them! These awesome trainers and when they eventually die I will be buying the same again.

Never intended to spend so much on running shoes but thought about my poor feet and knees which take a good pounding on my runs! These are so comfortable, I ordered half a size up to allow room for feet expansion whilst running. It does feel roomy but at the same time very snug. Very easy to get on and the lace up system is ace, not having to worry about laces coming undone during a run or having to double knot laces in the first place! Perfect for my feet with the ortholite within. If you’re happy to spend a little bit more, I’d recommend!

This is not the first purchase of this product so bought with confidence.I have always found that buying my actual size taken in other shoes has been successful even with the GORE-TEX lining. Often people say half size up but I don't find this necessary.A comfortable shoe which is great for being outside in all weathers.I've never trail ran in them but I'm sure they'd be fabulous.Also smart enough to be worn with a casual outfit.Quick dispatch and a great price, they are expensive full price but I think excellent value when discounted.

been buying these shoes for years. i bought a size UK 8.5 - the same size as the last pair i bought (the first couple of pairs were UK 7.5, the next a UK 8 and now two pairs at 8.5 - my feet haven't changed size (my other shoes which i don't wear often still fit!) so it must be the sizing by the manufacturer which has changed.I live in these shoes, i don't use them for running but do use them for gardening, walking about town, easy hiking, office wear with jeans.once they stop being waterproof (takes about 12 months) i buy a new pair.

I love Salomon as a brand and this is my second pair of the XA Pro 3D trial shoe.As an avid runner I moved from Nike three years ago and have never looked back.These trial are used for forest runs but are superb as well on a gravel terrain. These are a perfect fit, offer excellent comfort and support and don’t have the silly laces that come as standard on other brands that constantly come loose and annoy when out running.Combine these with the Salomon running socks and your run is guaranteed to be blister free and perfect!

Ordered half a size bigger which fitted comfortably. Went out for the first run and felt fine. Would have liked softer sole for better support. Love the waterproof and sturdy soles. They are good for hill walking and trail running. However they look and feel chunky on my feet with thick tongues. Don’t feel 100% comfortable after a long walk. My right foot feels tingling since wearing them maybe the hard soles. Won’t be buying them again for this reason. The quick lack system is handy but often have to re-tighten again.

This is the third pair of this particular style that I have bought over the years. They never disappoint and fit perfectly in the same size every time. I tried other models from this brand and they don’t fit me as well so I have given up and will stick with these. I’m using them for summer and winter walking on terrain where I don’t want to wear my big walking boots. They are very durable and give a good grip and are absolutely waterproof. Plus I got them on a very good deal!Would recommend

I absolutely love this shoe and am on my 4th pair. This model is better than the previous year in almost all respects. The tie is not distractingly long and the grip is much better. Waterproof level and breathability is about the same. I have been wearing these a lot and they have noticeable wear on the tread after only a few months. Granted I have done a lot of hikes on sharp rocks. I wish these shoes lasted longer, though.

Great for stability, light weight with excellent grip. Usually take a size 5 in everyday shoes (normally wear a 6 in running Mizuno / Asics / Brooks) very comfortable with size 6.5 with plenty of room in toe box. The heel area does feel lower than norm, the rest of the insole is contoured well and extremely supportive - I wear gel heel inserts in all my running shoes so this doesn't trouble me.

This is my fourth pair of these shoes. They are the ideal all-terrain shoes for off-road long distances, with a snug fit, adequate waterproofing, and gripping outsole. I only wish the lining did not wear out so quickly. The heel-counter soon wears through the lining so that the shoes begin to shred even waterproof socks and have to be thrown away before the outer or sole are fully worn out.
