This trimmer is nicely balanced in the hands. The blade was longer than I had expected but that is useful. It cuts very well and being cordless is a great advantage with no cable to worry about, either dragging it around and liable to get cut, or even having to be unrolled to reach the extremes of the garden.I had bought a companion pole hedge trimmer last year, but it is rather unwieldy for doing the sides of hedges and low ones. The ability of one battery to fit all machines is very good.My 2ah battery easily did nearly 20 ft of 30 in high box hedge.

Good hedge trimmer. While it isn't fast (high revving), it has reasonable power behind it. Cuts through some moderately heavy growth. Up against my Stihl petrol cutter, it doesn't have a look in for power, but it is also a fraction of the weight and completely silent. For certain jobs, the trade off for power is well worth it! I'm finding myself using this more often than the petrol one now as it is so quick and convenient to use.

Apart from its lightweight portability, it is a pleasure to handle without that pesky cord that gets in the way and risks getting cut. For someone of advancing years, it is very manageable and comfortable to use. The extra large battery can easily do my 40-metre x 2-metre high hedge. It is yet another great Ryobi product to add to my growing arsenal of tools. If I have a gripe, it is the cost of new batteries.

I made the decision awhile ago to standardise on the Ryobi one plus system and this hedge trimmer confirms my decision was correct. This cuts very nearly as well as my mains Ryobi trimmer of a similar size. After nearly an hour of relatively light trimming my 5 amp battery still had 3 out of 4 lights lit. I would preferred less than£86 but overall I think that it's Was worth it.

This is a full size hedge trimmer as capable as a mains machine. It is particularly useful for awkwardly sited bushes where power access is difficult and for tidying up work. May not be the optimum machine for major hedge trimming jobs as the rate of battery discharge is quite high when heavily loaded, although to be fair I have not put it to that test.

I bought this as I have the Ryobi Chain Saw using the same Batteries. I was amazed at the length of cutting time on one charge. I have cut my Beech and Leylandii hedges over about 3 occasions, the garden is surrounded by 130m of hedge.

very light and well balanced, used for cutting behind and below electric fences,cuts through fairly big brambles, after an hour still some charge left in a 5 amph battery and not exhausted as had been using a petrol cutter.

Well made, strong enough to cut almost anything apart from thick branches and the battery lasts long enough for my (large) garden on one charge. Cant fault this.

A really good tool that does everything it supposed to. Lightweight and robust. Makes short work of most appropriate trimming jobs.
