This is one of those items you buy and wished you had got one sooner. The difference in doing hedge cutting with this compared to a cabled model is like night and day. I was mainly buying it because I was sick of cutting through my cables, but the ease of doing this job has been the greatest benefit. It’s now taking about a third of the time to do as the cable factor has been removed. I was slightly worried about cutting power but this cuts through normal hedge with ease. Also it’s incredibly light and balanced for its size, with a battery that last me 3 or 4 cuts of 10 metres worth of a small garden hedge. I have not actually run out of battery but just recharge it after a few uses if I remember. The one thing I am surprised about is the price of a spare battery (currently £50) but for most people one battery will be just fine. I read somewhere that it’s best to remove the battery and keep in the house if you are storing the trimmer in a garden shed, as supposedly the winter temperatures can damage battery performance if stored outside for long periods.

Fantastic bit of kit! I have been looking for a hedge trimmer for a while and have been very wary of battery operated as many have been such let downs! But this has been brilliant.Very clean cut backed with a powerful motor! I have used it on our garden hedge which is about 12/15 meters long and 3/4 meters high it did the job brilliantly, got half way and gave it a charge which takes about 20/25minutes and completed the rest no problems. Was very surprised and how well is cut thicker branches as well, it managed to get through some about 4cm thick! If you are undecided about whether to get a battery operated trimmer then I would highly recommend giving this one a go!Note: I would recommend buying some all in one oil for the blades, give it a spray before and after every job to keep them nice and lubricated and sharp.

The Bosch hedge trimmer is very light with good cutting ability and a powerful battery. It makes trimming the hedge a less onerous task. You may still need to get out the petrol trimmer sometimes or call the tree surgeon but this may make a significant part of the work easier. Highly recommended.ProsWell made.Light and easy to handle.Good cutting action for braches less than around 0.5 inches.Good battery that lasts 30 plus minutes.Intelligent charging system gives speedy recharging.Intelligent cutting system makes means that it doesn’t snag on branches like some cheaper wired and battery cutters.ConsNone.RecommendationsBuy a second battery as this trimmer is so easy to use that it becomes aspontaneous thing to do until you find the batter is flat.To cut thicker branches use the end of the cutter.

I’d never used a cordless hedge cutter before but finally decided to take the plunge, the hope being that I’d be more likely to pick the thing up and get to work, without having the added hassle of extension cords to bother with. It’s great being able to just pick it up and get down to it and fabulous not having to worry about cutting the cable but there is a definite price to pay for the convenience, in terms of lack of cutting power.I’ve found it to be great for new growth but it struggles to get through anything much thicker than that. So it’s fine for regular maintenance but you won’t be able to renovate that neglected hedge with this tool.I’d say this is a great thing to have ‘as well as’,but wouldn’t recommend it instead of a corded trimmer.I hope this review was helpful.

I purchased this because my petrol trimmer was becoming too heavy. I was reluctant to change because a) it was yet more evidence of the waning strength of my ageing body and also b) we have very high hedges and I didn't think a batter powered trimmer would cope. On the second of these, at least, I was wrong. Very good battery life (it's just cut 80 yards of 7 foot high laylandii before finally running out) and, because it's relatively light, you don't need to be Mr Muscles to use it. Although you wouldn't want to use this to hack through the Amazon (the jungle that is, not the company) it can cope with most small branches: the teeth at the tip are slightly larger and I've found these will eventually wear their way through wood up to about 1.5cm thick. All in all, very happy

I bought these cutters a month or so ago, due to the fact I wanted some cordless clippers. As I hate the trailing wires from my Qualcast 600w clippers, which I had been previously using. These are a great buy. Battery lasted over an hour. Which was ample time to get around my privet hedges. The cut is very close and perfect for yew and privet. Struggled a bit on the conifers, but I have the Qualcast clippers for those.I do not regret at all buying these and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. I was dubious at the power and battery life at first as I have been cutting hedges for over 30 years and have used about 10 different brands.I would rate these very highly and they are not that heavy to use.Arms were not aching at all. Can't wait for my hedges to grow again!!!

Replaces an older 10 yr old cordless Bosch which never failed (just borrowed by Son in Law). Plenty powerful for leylandii and similar grade hedging. OK with Holly and only struggles with older 'core' branches. Stopping due to branch thickness has been very rare for me in my lightly maintained, 0.75 acre domestic gardenLonger length than my previous device but lighter overall. Battery gave me 40 mins and still going strong when job had ended. Haven't reached its limit yet unlike the 60 yr old bloke operating it.Quiet operation, light enough to get a decent reach/stretch when needed and good battery life. Mustn't ignore its cutting ability which has been great for me.Pleased with purchase and battery is interchangeable with other 18 v Bosch devices

My corded Bosch trimmer has served me well and still works fine, but I fancied a cordless version. When the box arrived and had obviously been opened, messed about with, resealed and returned to Amazon I expected the worst. It wasn't supposed to be an "open box" item.Although the information to register the trimmer online is missing, the trimmer itself looked unused, so I couldn't be bothered to return it.I expected it to be so-so like most things are these days, but I was wrong.I am really impressed with this trimmerIt cuts a treat, is light in comparison, but not too light! The battery lasts ages and is fast to recharge. All in all,if you are in two minds I would recommend you to buy it and you won't regret it.

I bought this for a really tall conifer hedge and instantly regretted not getting one with a telescopic arm... However, it's so lightweight it's manageable to do the top of the hedge on a set of ladders. It feels safe, as I was surprised how lightweight it is. I already had the drill, so using that battery saved me a few quid too.The battery surprisingly lasts forever too... I have quite a long hedge in the front garden and it has done two passes on it (so far) and it feels like there's another two in it!So, overall quite impressed! I wish I could extend it with a telescopic arm still though...so not perfect for me, but pretty much 98% of the way there otherwise!

I bought this to replace a mains electric trimmer that had just died. I did not expect this to be as powerful as the previous one, and it isn't. However, it managed to trim my privet hedge without any major difficulties. Occasionally it jammed on some thicker branches, but a stop-start technique sorted that out.I can't really say anything about battery life as it is a small hedge, but I took the battery out and used it in the compatible leaf blower to clear up without having to recharge.Overall, not as powerful as the mains equivalent, but much lighter and so much more convenient. A good buy which I would happily recommend for light work.

I've picked up a habit of purchasing Bosch tools over the years and they've always served me well. And this is no exception. I used to have a corded trimmer for a good while and I've lost count of the number of times I've sliced through the wire. No more! I've not used another cordless trimmer to be honest but compared to my old corded one and my larger petrol one this is pretty light. I used it for a good 2 hours first time out and my arms and shoulders felt great (6ft male, pretty fit and strong). The battery life seems pretty good too, the great thing is I can swap in the batteries from my Bosch cordless drill too.

Wasn't sure what to expect, never owned a hedge cutter before. This made light work of a dense hedge that had clearly been around for some time. I was reluctant to spend the extra - its cordless and has a battery - but it was absolutely the right choice. Literally no hassle compared to, say, mowing a lawn with a cabled mower. Convenient, comfortable and easy. And as pointed out by other reviewers, a good price compared to the high street retailers. Possibly one of the best purchases i've made, and i'm sure its power and beauty drew the attention of the neighbours too as my hedge is in the front garden!

Bought this battery operated hedge trimmer when normally I go for petrol equipment.First glance I thought the body work was typical far Eastern offering as the casting seemed rough in places.Used it three times and providing the battery is fully charged then it can survive 40 mins or so.Quality cutting blades... probably German.Doesnt have the overall power of petrol driven models but there again gains on the convenience side. Two years warranty extended to three if you register with BoschI gave up as no matter what password I used it didn't meet their criteria.Details of criteria nowhere Tobe found.

This is a quality hedge trimmer and for a small to medium size garden with not too many hedges it does the job well.It allows me to trim all hedges comfortably without the battery running down and the blades are powerful enough to cut through thickish branches so I am delighted with my purchase. Finally the battery is the same as my Bosch strimmer so are interchangeable. I noticed when looking around for the best price that only ones that didn’t come with a battery were lower priced and look at the price of a stand alone battery so make sure it comes with it.

I purchased this after cutting through the cable on my Flymo - yet again. I had avoided buying cordless as I was always worried about the power and battery life. I was very pleasantly surprised, charged in less than an hour and I cut a 50mtr 8 ft hedge with charge left over. It's light and the absence of the cable seemed to improve my work rate. I had considered a cheaper product, but you only get what you pay for and I have no regrets. I would thouroughly recommend this product.I did not buy from Amazon as I purchased from Homebase at the same price.
