Does anybody remember that jingle (showing my age now!!)?These shears have proved to be really efficient at cutting through tough, knee-high grass as well as dozens of thick-stemmed weeds. I bought several pairs as I was having a group-garden-tidy because our 40-ft garden got very overgrown very quickly! It would not have been possible to use a lawn mower - it was that bad. This product was a great choice and has really made a difference after only 2 hours of 4 people giving it their all (none of them are men). Would highly recommend these shears - they are sharp and fairly light-weight so easy to manoeuvre. Have ony used them the once so can't say how they will perform after half a dozen uses but I think it's possible to get shears sharpened?

'Razorsharp' Shears - definitely - I cut my finger on them before even using them - just by getting too close to the edge to remove a mark on the blade!These are fantastic shears that just slice through everything. The relatively long handles are comfortable to use and provide great leverage but after prolonged use you might get aching wrists as the blades are quite heavy. However for general use cutting back hedges shrubs and overgrown plants they can't be beaten.Also, If you don't have a pair of 'Loppers' to cut through the thicker stems these shears have a large notch at the base of one blade to secure the thick stem and it then cuts through easily.Certainly well worth the money

I bought this product for my mum for her Christmas present and reserved the item online before collecting in store. Service through Argos was faultless and very quick, plus this was the last one in stock so reserving the item online made sure it wasnt sold before I got to the shop to collect it. Once received the item looked high quality with strong sharp blades - ideal for the job! I cant rate it 5 stars as I havent actually used the product myself as it was a present hence only marking 4 stars. Good value product that should last a long time if looked after.

Bought these Hand Shears based on reviews, and the product name , but overall not disappointed so far, as with all shears time is the true test as some of the cheaper products available, and which I have owned , have not stood the test of time and use, but nice comfortable grip handles, nice and light to use, very sharp, reasonable length also , all in all they have the feel of a quality product which I would highly recommend, as for the cost of that quality, "you get what you pay for "

Don't know if the shears have been used yet, as they were a gift. Can only say that I went for a well known brand. Chose to purchase through Argos for the excellent selection goods on your website and in your catalogue. I really appreciated the way in which I was kept informed as to when I could collect my order. So much easier than tramping around shops, only to find they don't have what you are looking for. So Thank You Argos for making my Christmas present shopping so much easier.

I don't have the strongest hand grip or upper body strength so pleased with the weight and hold. Nice cutting action. Clipped grass and hedge well. Feels like good value for money compared with cheaper shears and the sale price was and added incentive. Haven't had them long enough to know if they stay razor sharp but they have a quality blade that should sharpen up well.As a 30 plus years gardener I think they are a good buy.

It does exactly what it says on the tin. Comfortable grip and razor sharp cut. I did not understand the notch bit for cutting thicker stems (in terms of whether it was a safety device or something else) and there was no instruction or advice. It was slightly bigger than expected. Time will tell whether it maintains it razor sharp cut. I brought it when it was on offer so bagged a bargain. Definitely a good buy

bought these to replace a cheaper pair that need constant sharpening. Excellent for shaped grass edging and around raised borders. So far (few weeks ) staying nice and sharp to the tip. Even with light oiling a little stiff in use but that will probably ease with use. Stylish design with a superior bumpcstop! Quite light to handle. Pleased with my purchase and the price and click and collect at Argos.

Have had several pairs of hedge clippers which have been worse than useless but I am pleased to say that these are absolutely excellent!! They are strong, sharp & very easy to use & exactly as described & prove yet again that with this type of product you really do benefit from buying a well-known make!! Would recommend them to anyone looking for this type of item. Very good value for money too.

If you are currently using an old, cheap set of shears, then you really should make the change. I did, and I'm glad I did. They are a good, ergonomic shape (less back-ache), very sharp, a little longer than most cheap ones, rubber handles give very good grip and they give the impression of quality. Time will tell, but I am very happy with my purchase. Jolly good price too.......

My garden shears have been the best garden tool of brought in years and even though they are not the most expensive in the spear and jackson range, they are sharp but light so easy to use and cut with ease. After use ive been putting some oil brushed in the blades to keep well greased so will last for a long time. I would recommend to anyone and good value for money.

I bought a pair of Spear & Jackson hand shears, and I have to say they are brilliant. Very lightweight with non slip handles.Saw them on line in Argos, checked if they had them in store, 1 pair left, so ordered to pick up in store. Got an email almost straight away with my order no. Went and got them at my convenience.The whole experience could not of been easier.

Having used these shears to trim box hedge and laurel trees I am very pleased with my purchase . Easy to use as just the right weight with a comfortable grip,needed a short spray of oil to free up a little. I am looking forward to getting years of use from these without them losing any sharpness and with the 10 year guarantee they are well worth the money.

The edge on these shears are extremely sharp,good for cutting grass with the sharp edge making a clean cut.When triming the hedge the razor sharp blades cut through the foliage with no effort at all and the notch near the blade hinge cut through the 12mm branches.Very good product like a two in one with blades and a lopping notch well worth the money.

Exactly what they say on the tin - good, sharp garden shears. I bought these for a short length of conifer hedge, and the result was much neater than a hedge trimmer. There are no maintenance instructions, so I guess they don't need tightening/sharpening/oiling - they certainly seemed robust on first use! Not super-light, but ok for small jobs.
