A middle of the range steam iron from Russell Hobbs the model 23260.With an electrical consumption of 2600watts the iron will deliver 60g of continuous steam with a steam shot of 155g. It comes complete with a filling beaker and the water tank will hold 300ml of water. It is fitted with a 3m power cord which, for me, is the ideal length. The iron I received is finished in an attractive blue colour. The handle moulding running down to the toe of the iron houses, from the back, steam shot and water spray buttons, the steam control button, the water filling inlet and the steam/water spray nozzle. The plate beneath the handle houses the following, again from the rear, the indicator light which extinguishes when the required temperature is attained, the temperature setting dial, the self-clean button and the water fill mark. After filling the iron and setting the temperature for cottons I switched the iron on and it got up to temperature in about a minute. Steam delivery was good and the whole balance of the iron excellent. It only weighs in at 1.1Kg which is a pleasant change from some of the irons I've tried in the past. The self-clean feature is useful particularly if you happen to live in a hard water area. Fill the iron to maximum and set the highest temperature. Turn the steam to 'off' then turn the iron on and wait for it to get up to temperature. Hold the iron over the sink or a bowl then press the self-clean button and hold it down, move the iron to and fro while the iron expels water, steam and scale into the bowl. Once the water reservoir is empty release the self-clean button, turn off the iron and allow it to cool.Like I said earlier, this is a middle of the range iron and if you're looking for a no-frills lightweight unit then this could be the iron for you.

Russell Hobbs 23260 Supreme Steam Traditional Iron 2600 W Green/BlackAs my last Iron had died on me, I was looking for a replacement, when this one appeared on the vine programme, I asked Hubby to get it for me to give it a try,This is a really lovely Iron but has a few quirks I will have to get used to, such as the steam jet being on the top of the Iron and not under the handle like my old Phillips one, as it was very handy. All I do at the moment is spray water everywhere, until I remember. I love an Iron with a ceramic soleplate as there is no snagging of clothes, which can happen with stainless steel after a whileIt comes with a lovely long cable which is easy to use from my plug socket rather than me use an extension lead, another plus point.I like the Black/Green colour of the Iron, something different. The filling hole is a little awkward as it flips from the top, not the side like my previous iron, but not too much of a problem. It comes with a filling cup, another bonus, although on the small side and you have to fill twice to fill the iron. The temperature dial is easy to use and it is quick at changing the temperature for different items of clothing. It irons well but does not go through 4 layers of duvet cover, very well or very dry items like Linen or heavy Denim. It is very good on vertical steaming and curtains washed and hung in situ where done in no time.I am not sure whether it will be as good as my old Phillips Azura Performance, but it is a good replacement at the moment and time will tell.Well worth a 5 out of 5 rating.

When reviewing this iron I'll start by complimenting something that's not particularly important for an iron but something that struck me immediately when looking at the iron. That is to say that aesthetically the iron is well designed. I like the colour, it looks good.Anyway onto more important matters, the iron is operated by a simple dial from minimum to maximum temperature and a switch which allows you to customise how much steam the iron emits. The water tank is a good size which means that you are not constantly having to change the water mid- clothes pile which can be frustrating. It also irons very well,a cliche perhaps but the iron glides across clothes and the steam really helps to get creases out quickly. My only criticism of the iron is that on the dial itself it could have included a recommendation of what material you could iron at any particular temperature. I found this a useful feature in my old iron and its a shame this wasn't replicated here. That said this is a fantastic option especially at the price and I would highly recommend!

The 23260 is akin to an earlier Russell Hobbs iron that I have reviewed, barring a few minor cosmetic changes. It has a slightly longer power cord, is 200 w more powerful, but essentially is the same iron. It is a decent but basic steam iron, ideally suited to single people who don't have a great deal of ironing to do. The base plate is visibly shorter than 'usual' steam irons, as is the water tank, which is filled by pulling on a tab on the front of the iron. There are two buttons on the top handle which are used to dispense a burst of steam, or a spray of water on to the surface of the garment that is being ironed.I've been using this iron for two weeks and it handles pretty well; a man size shirt takes around five minutes to iron, the same with a pair of my Wrangler jeans. So, all in all, a decent and competent but basic iron, but if you have a large family and/or iron lots, then you'll need something with a larger base plate, and that bit more 'oomph....'....

What a delightful iron from Russel Hobbs, it made ironing easy and fast. The iron looks elegant and well made.It is black and white with green transparent water tank. It has a ceramic soleplate which glides smoothly when ironing. The other features include 60g of continuous steam with a powerful 155g shot of steam for tough creases,, auto shut off for addedd security. The water tanks has a capacity of 350ml which is quite large It also has an extra burst of steam and water -spray features to help iron stubborn creases. The heat is 2600w with a 3m cord length. The handle is contoured for grip and comfort when ironing. it has temperature control and setting ,and it is important to look at t the instructions about ironing various fabrics of clothing to select the appropriate temperature control. It is a fast, smooth gliding and has a good continuos steam with 3 yr guarantee from Russell hobbs. I like it and would gladly recommend.

Decent length of cord, allows easy manoeuvring of the iron. The iron itself is a nice weight and well balanced. It feels solid and well built. It heats up very quickly and has a range of temperature settings to deal with delicate fabrics right through to thick denim and hard to iron linen. The ceramic plate allows for a smooth glide across fabrics without pulling or snagging. The steam function is very good, lots of steam for getting rid of stubborn creases. Steam shot is great for use on thicker fabrics and even removed creases from a very hard to iron linen-blend shirt! Steam is easily controlled, again enabling use on even delicate fabrics.Good quality product, works very well and would recommend.

A fantastic mid range iron, tough to beat for this price. This came just at the right time as our previous iron, a lower end Philips model, had given up the ghost after not much more than a year (I'm updating my review for that one!)I found this model to have all of the functionality I need, heating up quickly and not going through the water too fast. Having a 3m cord is a big plus as it does make ironing a lot more convenient in tight spaces. I don't know why all irons don't have longer cords! So far am very impressed, hope to be enjoying the use of this iron for many years.

This is an excellent basic Steam Iron. I like the slim shape of it - good for those tricky bits on shirts and blouses. The steam buttons are responsive and my ironing basket was soon emptied. I was pleasantly surprised how well it tackled denim jeans as well as much more delicate fabrics. The flex is a generous length too.A family that produces loads of ironing each week may perhaps need something a little less basic but this is ideal for a single person.Very good value.

I really like Russell Hobbs and this iron is a really good one. It's not too heavy to handle and has the normal steam-jet and shot functions. It has a good capacity tank. The ceramic plate glides beautifully over any fabric. Good length cord. Nothing fancy about it, but does the job well.It will be used as a spare for when the current one conks out.

the previous reviews almost put me off buying this iron. However, my experience hasnt been quite the same. I find the iron to be fantastic, removing every crease in sight. It doesnt leak as other reviews suggest. I also use bottles water instead of tap water to prolong the life of the iron.

Bought this iron- as medium priced and looks smart, very pleased with it, heats up quickly, long flex no complaints.

Excellent iron. Lightweight, which suits me as I have arthritis in wrists. Long cable is particularly handy.

16.2.2018

Great iron does the job, only thing is awkward to fill as cap keeps closing when filling with water

13.3.2020

Lightweight iron and heats up very quickly, very pleased with my purchase, a nice looking iron.
