I didn't buy this game at launch because of the many negative reviews, which were mainly concerning the price (49GBP) in relation to the size of the game and VR sickness issues. After waiting patiently for a whole year for the price to drop to 16GBP I thought it was about time to pick it up, and for the money I'm not disappointed. To address the issue of VR sickness, most VR games offer a variety of control mechanisms to negate this, and for me personally, using the 'pie chart' rotation mode and 'keep direction' strafe mode causes me no ill-effects whatsoever. It's only when I try 360° free movement that I start to feel sick, so I avoid that at all costs. The game only allows you to walk slowly, another bugbear of many low score reviewers, but this is another mechanism to prevent sickness and is not unique to this title. So with that out of the way, how does the rest of the game stack up? Well, for the most part it's a fairly linear exploration experience, that involves figuring out how to get from A to B by solving some fairly simple puzzle-like problems and plenty of climbing around. The visuals are amongst the best of any PSVR title so far and is about as close to walking with dinosaurs as you're ever going to get.Your robot companion (which reminded me of Wheatley from Portal 2, only not as funny) stops you from being too lonely and offers help or advice when you need it. You also have a 'pet' baby T-Rex, who will join you for the odd game of hide and seek when he's not getting himself into trouble.Overall, I can understand the disappointment of anyone who paid the original price for this, but if you can pick it up for the same price I did then I highly recommend it.

A lot of the reviews here focus on how they are disappointed because it isn't like the trailers. I went in blind with no expectations after paying £25 and while I'd have complained about buying at full price it's definitely think it's worth it for that. The game is pretty much a simple, slow paced 1st person point and click adventure, you explored a modestly sized but highly detailed environment searching for collectables, finding fun interactions and solving simple puzzles (often physics based or requiring you to order your pet dinosaur to do things). The environments aren't huge, there isn't much story and it's not that long but it does a better job of creating a sense of exploration than any other VR game on the market, and probably has the best graphics of any too.I've seen a lot of complaints about sickness. That isn't specific to this game, any VR game with free movement, especially ones where you aren't in a vehicle, will cause sickness for people at first but you build up a tolerance the more you play. If this is your first VR game with free movement then yes, it will probably make you feel sick, it's a lot harsher than a lot of others on the market, but play this or any other game with free movement (the Resident Evil 7 Demo is a good indication for if you are ready, it has practically the same control and movement as this) in short bursts and you build up a tolerance for all VR games. I'd already built up a tolerance by the time I got this and it didn't effect me at all.

I had been looking forward to playing this game since it was released however the whopping price tag put me off. I bought it half price in a sale and it is definitely worth £25.The game is very beautiful and emersive though it should be noted this is a puzzler adventure game game not an action advent game but that suited me just fine. The wildlife and the interaction is really nice and I like the mixture of walking, climbing and sliding down vines in the jungle really fun and immersive. The puzzles are simple yet challenging and often it was a fairly simple thing you needed to do but took me a while to realise. I think that's a good level.I dont really suffer from motion sickness in any vr games though I do get stomach flips and butterflies sometimes.I can feel a little groggy if I've been playing too long so I'd suggest short bursts of 20-40 mins at a time playing this game and it does tend to save at points where you think that's me I've had enough for now.I've given the title 4 stars because although I liked the game I wouldn't have paid full price for it. The game is relatively short maybe 4-5 hours but still plenty to experience. Lots of wildlife to discover so there's stuff to do alongside the actual storyline. It's probably one of the most interactive games for vr at the moment and getting to stand next to a huge dinosaur and really feel the scale of these animals was amazing and that's exactly what I was looking forward to.

Sci Fi and Dinosaurs x VR quite a good combination. This is probably the most fully realised narrative 'game' I've had in VR as opposed to an 'experience'. I'd seen the time taken to get through it as about 5 hours but I probably took twice that as I took my time and savoured my virtual tour around the planet Tyson 3.Graphically it's stunning, especially the jungle section which really conveys a sense of huge scale, with trees towering over you and there's a lot of wildlife all around to bringing it to life. The models are models are beautifully rendered and staring up at a branch as a family of pangolins look down on you raised a big smile. Then there's the dinosaurs; If you love Jurassic Park,VR takes it to the next level as these things are huge! and there's a couple of great jump scares with raptors. My only real negatives with the game are some of the puzzles or interactions; they aren't well signposted and you can end up stuck with Hig's - your robot companion becoming annoying as he tends to repeat the same soundbytes, Also there's a power switching mini game throughout that I found quite hard and at total odds with the more simplistic and childlike interactions of some of the other things to do. God knows why move support isn't in as the toll you use throughout obviously looks like one. Overall though ithe game's a good direction as to what longer games can do in VR and if you are dinosaur nut, it's a no brainer,

This is by far the best experience I have ever had. The attention to detail from these developers make this game a fantastic, immersive environment and I honestly love every second of it. I have played it over and over again and would recommend it to any and all VR players. One of the things that I love the most is that I am not forced to slaughter anything. It is a story of exploration with just enough drama and suspense to get the heart racing, Every time I play I find something new. I hold any and all VR games to the high standard of Robinson the Journey and I hope that more developers pay attention to how much detail and work went into this amazing game. Open world, explore as you will ..interact with almost everything and solve the mystery. I was so impressed. Would give it 10 stars if that were possible.** for those new to VR .. please take the time to adjust the settings of the game in order to get the best VR experience for you. The developers have taken great pains to ensure everyone can have a positive experience so do yourself a favour and go through the settings carefully before you jump right in there.

OK was really excited when first saw this game, then read the reviews and was set up to be disappointed. Having played for over an hour its without a doubt best visual experience so far. Its what I hoped PSVR would be and although this is far from perfect, it shows what the VR is capable of and hopefully what games will build upon moving forward. The first 5 mins of play, I did experience very slight motion sickness for the first time of using PSVR but having read another review, I changed to 'smooth' and within another 5 mins play didn't experience anything even after a solid hour of play. So far the game is straight forward, explore the amazing planet, scan it's wildlife and build a database with you pet dinosaur in toe.As I say visually it's stunning, voice acting is good and game play so far is pretty good. I look forward to playing it through, hopefully game play won't just consist of scanning wildlife, which I am sure it's won't be. Overall definitely recommend for an early PSVR experience.

I feel some of the reviews are harsh. The worst thing about this game is the price. The game itself has incredible immersion, stunning 3D VR visuals and some interesting methods of play and exploration, albeit in small sized areas. You will have never seen nothing or felt anything like it. Its a technical powerhouse and shines much brighter on the PS Pro with better textures, detail and clarity. I personally enjoyed this game as an experience but i paid £50 elsewhere and it should really be £30 tops...as its roughly a 5-6 hour game...but its a worthy experience which absorbed my interest as the game world is top draw..

My impressions after playing for the first time were disappointing, mainly because of the cost....however, after I kept going and getting further into the game I completely changed my opinion! The jungle and tar pit with the long necks was something else! I think this is the best game currently on the PSVR at the moment. I have to keep getting my head around that fact that this is a VR game, not a 2d game and in that respect I have to judge it differently! Vr is totally different than your normal platform game and still developing! The only annoying point is the cost! Well over priced in my opinion.

Bought this while it was £25 after hearing it was rather short and boring. It's probably the best LOOKING VR game for PS4 so far, but the one thing I don't like about this game is that you can't use the MOVE controllers to interact. It requires you to use the Dual Shock 4, and aim with your head.So you have these awkward floating hands in front of your face. It seems like it SHOULD have been a MOVE controller game.A lot of the stuff you see in the trailers is NOT in the game, this is annoying and a little dishonest.

As far as VR games go, this is one of the better games for PSVR.It has problems but I still recommend it,The story is just ok, but the VR world is detailed but the missions you do are just a bunch of tasks to unlock more of the short story. Don't expect to play it more than 4-5hs.It's still an interesting example of where VR games will go in the future when they are given bigger budgets.

Beautifully Frustrating... looks amazing, but needs a huge kick up the backside! The game play is far too slow and all the stuff you saw in the trailers just ain't there! :-( Which is a huge shame as they were the reasons i wanted this. There are a few bugs that need ironing out... but overall, it's a beautiful way to spend a few hours, just wish it was like the trailer. :-(

Great experience on VR, what I wanted since i was a child was to explore a dinosaur world. The best part of the game is free roaming and seeing the beautiful environments which have obviously had a lot of work put into them. Though the meat of the game, the puzzles and the story is lacking and features no real conclusion. I'd recommend it though to anyone thats interested.

This really is a great game - the vistas are superb and charcters believable. Where else can you hide behind a Trex skull and watch a herd of Brotys walk past your nose - and they are HUGE!!Get the game and enjoy - I would have near top of my list of PSVR experiences.

18.11.2016

Slow moving but has amazing graphics. One of the longer VR experiences lasting about 5-6 hours. I really enjoyed the game and would be happy to play through again - if only to experience the stunning scenery and wildlife (especial the BIG dinosaurs).

Truly lovely game but as this is a new concept to me wondering around I do suffer from Motion sickness and a little advice I got from a friend was to eat some ginger while playing this cuts down on the sick feeling and yes it does help !!!
