I merely purchased this game on a whim. I had some money to spare, I fancied getting something new, however not too expensive. I stumbled across ‘Journey to the Savage Planet’ on the Xbox store, and it immediately grabbed my attention. The colour grading in this game is amazing, every area you explore in-game is thriving with life and looks gorgeous. Naturally, the graphics are great too, not too realistic but that’s of course due to the games genre and art style. Also the frame rate is nice and consistent on the Xbox One X.Think of a better No Mans Sky mixed with Subnautica, I haven’t stopped playing it since yesterday. It’s quirky and rather quite humorous in it portrayals of character habits (e.g spamming a button that doesn’t work loads of times)and also your A.I system that helps you navigate through these strange worlds is also at times rather funny.Honestly, just a game worth getting for anybody who loves a good bit of exploring, upgrading their equipment, silly but genuine humour and generally just looking to grab a bargain for the price.I can’t speak for the games length, as it’s not very big storage wise, so my guess is a lot of the games time comes from exploring every nook and cranny, something I’m extremely fond of.All in all, this game I feel may be a hidden gem. Don’t be off put by the age rating, it isn’t just a ‘kids’ game, the humour in it and content makes me laugh and entertains me, and I’m borderline 22 years old.Just get the game, you’ll see!

So this game is literally just a first person shooter, there's no customisation of weapons or character, just upgrades you collect along the way (normally involving finding a teleporter and going back in the game, which feels unnecessary). The only real reason you should need to go back to the ship is to watch the videos or complete the game, apart from that it seems like a waste of time keep going back to upgrade. The upgrade system is pretty much level based and locked behind a "side quest" mission, involving things like slapping certain creatures or taking a sample from them, this also seemed very pointless and seems more of a reason to make you explore the game. These points seem negativeand to me they are negative points against the game but it does not take away the fun I had (even with the side mission crap). The controls are tight and gameplay feels smooth, I have yet to play multiplayer as they have locked it behind playing with someone you know who has the game to play with, you can't play with a random online, you have to invite or be invited. It's a shame they didn't allow random join ups and get rid of the tedious tasks you're set with but so many games are starting to do it, maybe it will become the norm, no loot boxes though, thank god. It also has a DLC you can buy which adds a whole extra area and more content to the game, it's reasonably priced on the store which is great too.

The game is amazingly fun, you need to stick with it to unlock everything in order to achieve everything but it’s worth it.I couldn’t put this game down which is rare for me, I literally played to completion and then went back to 100% it as even when you kill the boss you only finish when you choose to leave the planet.I never try to 100% games.I’ve seen people complain the boss is too hard, he is a great challenge but like others I charged into him too quick, TAKE YOUR TIME, level up lots first, explore and have fun. This game is borderland game of the year for me for its simple yet addictive fun at a great price, it’s got great humour but the ending is lacking so it loses points for that. The recent dlc is pretty rotten so wait for that to be on sale.If you like humour,a new type of puzzle shooter and you like space stuff then this game is a must especially at the price.

great game, just completed it 100% 5 minutes ago. the graphpic are good, the story is good, the humour is spot on, very much like portal 2 humour. the only thing that stops this game getting 5 stars in my book is the length of the game, its quite short (10 hours ish) but whats there is gold. campaign is fully playable in coop from the get go and it was quite a bit of fun (especially if your mate is crap at platforming) to 100% the game requires at least 2 playthroughs so that pads the game out a bit. for the price (currently £22.00) you cannot go wrong with this game. loved it.

Nice to play something just fun - colourful and sarcastic, this is great as a wind-down. It’s not a big game, it won’t take days to complete it - but that’s quite nice actually. Lots of details, humorous scripting and easy to grasp mechanics. I particularly like that there’s no tutorial sections or pop-ups. You figure it out, it’s not hard. The AI computer & sarky ads remind me of Fallout, the art, level design and mechanics remind me of Ratchet & Clank, and the premise is similar to No Man’s Sky in some ways. It could have felt really derivative, but it doesn’t.

In this game, you are an explorer, on an alien world. Everything you need, you have to find or make for yourself. Very "Robinson Crusoe", In Space. The rest you have to work out. Whilst similar to "No Man's Sky" or "Astroneer", "Journey to The Savage Planet" has a more clearly defined plot - heavily laced with anti-corporate satire. Whilst some of the jokes are rather "robust" and the "humour" occasionally grates, the wry comedy give this game a flavour all its own.

So this game has alot of good features and it doesn't lack in colourful environments but it's missing a proper battle elementAct it's only a 12 doesn't really need a battle element for that age but what about the games that can see our first gray hairs ha

Bought this a few days after release and very surprised. Kinda like The Outer Worlds meets No Mans Sky. The humor is very meta and the few characters in the game are excellently written. The controls are slightly stiff compared to No Mans Sky

To start with this game is great value for money. Great graphics, good story line and unique physics. For a developers first game this is very very good. The free keychain i received was nice too.

Great indie game, very similar to No Man's Sky but not charged at a Triple A price for a low standard game.
