I have been faffing between this and the Microsoft Elite controller for quite a while. In the end I decided on this one as the extra switches underneath looked stronger than the paddles on the Elite. Not having an Elite I can't really say, but that was the logic behind my choice of purchase.First nice thing is that this comes in a nice solid protective case. I personally won't have any use for it as I don't travel to game, but for those who do, I feel that the case would be a welcome addition. Spare D-pad and thumb sticks are included in this case for when you need a different style to the controller. It comes with a four button switched d-pad installed, and the rocker button style is included separately. The cable is long enough for my purposes at about two metres though I have rolled it a tad to stop it dragging on the floor. For those who like to sit several feet away on a sofa while playing, this should be sufficient. The buttons are extremely responsive and there is a short-stop adjuster for the triggers to reduce the movement required for firing in combat games. Whether you use the switched d-pad or the rocker version is up to you, as they both have their uses; the rocker perhaps being the best option for combat/fight games.Unlike the Microsoft controllers, this one has an LED scrolling light. Using the app the company has produced gives you some control over how this LED behaves. There is also a white power light to confirm that the controller is on as the X button does not light up. Honestly I don't see that as a downside, and I've frequently wondered why Microsoft haven't added lights to their controller to jazz them up a bit. After all, it's been a thing for a few years now. No matter, the lights aren't the important part. The app, he says after getting distracted, also allows you to create different profiles for different games and re-map the buttons to behave how you want them. That can be a lot more useful than it might at first appear.Response from the buttons is positive with considerably less movement on the switch than with microsoft controllers. They're also positive in a gentle way. Rather than a hard click to engage, it's a much shorter softer motion but there's still a good click response to assure that the button has been pressed. This reduced motion, and travel space makes a huge difference in response times in-game. It sounds silly I guess, but just that short difference in distance for the button to depress makes a surprisingly large difference in games. You can react and perform actions just that little bit quicker, which equates to less failing at tasks. I still can't quite get my head around this, but millimetres do matter.Overall the controller is nicely finished with a textured hard case on top and silicone/rubber grips to improve handling. All of the switches are well placed within easy reach of fingers for an average to large sized hand. For small hands, there will still need to be a certain amount of twisting and travelling to do, not much can be done there other than making smaller controllers. The switches on the bottom of the controller are ideally placed, more so I think than paddles, which interfere with the grip area. They, like all of the buttons on this can be re-mapped to suit your gaming style or requirements. The addition of four extra buttons at the back of the controller is a nice touch, and these give you rapid access to profiles, microphone mute and speaker control, without having to put the controller down and fiddle with other units. The headset I have has a controller on the cable which hangs around chest height, having the same controls for mute and volume built into the handset means I don't have to pause my gaming while I mess about with the headset. The thumb sticks feel different to the ones on my Microsoft controllers. More springy, and return to centre faster. The response on screen also feels faster though perhaps that's just my eager imagination. Controlling items on screen with the sticks though, definitely feels faster with better control. Overshooting on look/aim is not as frequent as with the original controllers.Whether this thing is the "game changer" that the company claims I cannot say. I don't game professionally or competitively so I have no frame of reference to judge that. But, it is well designed, well manufactured, feels good in the hands and all of the switches and buttons are placed within easy reach with fast and positive results. Gaming feels more fluid and faster, even if it isn't, it's the perception that matters.Personally I happen to like the travelling LED on the housing, though with the cooler on my laptop, xbox and other items around my desk, my desk is starting to look more like a Christmas tree than the tree we have every year. Too much? You can change the LED function so that it's off until a particular action is performed if you don't like it being on all the time. I don't mind it, but other people may feel differently about that. The app is pretty good, easy to set up and very easy to create profiles for games and map the buttons to your personal taste. The trick here might be to remember the mapping if you too many different layouts. Still, it's a nice touch that helps make gaming life a bit easier.I've given this four stars on durability because it feels solid, the buttons feel reliable and have a good tactical feedback on them. I've had Microsoft controllers go all squishy on the buttons which is annoying as heck. This, hopefully will last longer. I've not had it long enough to make that judgement. I'm just going by general 'feel' at this time. If anything breaks in a few weeks - that wasn't a result of me misbehaving, I'll add that to my review in an update.Delivery was fast and the controller arrived boxed up in a tough cardboard box and rubber cushioning, inside the hard case that is included. Delivery services would have to go some to damage this thing in transit. Although a couple of them are rather enthusiastic in their attempts to destroy things.Registration of the device is simple and straight forward, though to take advantage of the warranty you will have to share some personal information with the company. Nothing too invasive personally, but name and address are required.Overall, as a casual gamer I'm extremely pleased with this item. I've enjoyed using it since it arrived in various games to test it out and the controller has behaved admirably in the few tests I've run. I like that the buttons are more positive than the original controllers. No longer mashing a button to get something to work, response is immediate and with very little movement. The downside - or upside, depending on your view, is learning a new gaming style where one doesn't have to hammer to get things to happen on screen. You just need to brush your finger/thumb over the switch and it engages. That alone makes for faster response times and discourages heavy handed play. I don't think this is a controller for people who like to crush their controller, I doubt it will appreciate having the crap beaten out of it.At this price I'm rather hoping that it will last a decent amount of time, I don't much relish having to invest a similar amount when the warranty expires.

As I'm a pc gamer I very really use controllers but obviously some games like racing games and some vr stuff requires a controller, I already own a standard xbox 360 controller but I wanted to upgrade to something nice and the razer wolverine not only looks amazing but the performance is just amazing the extra buttons on the bottom are really handy and the mouse click buttons work fantastic... The button's really give you an advantage in game's like TEkKEN and mortal combat due to the fact there so sensitive they only need the softest tuch meaning you can brush over them the buttons on the bottom are pre programmed to AXYB you can come out with combo after combo without even trying ?..I wouldhave gave it 5 star's if it wasn't for the price after all its just a controller if I had paid £160 I would have been a little disappointed considered returning it I don't feel any controller no matter how good is worth that price but I brought it as an amazon warehouse deal boxed as new totally untouched for under £100 so I can't complain for that price definitely a bargain and I encourage everyone to check out the used section on all high end products because you can save yourself heaps of money with the same great amazon returns policy...The wolverine really is a far superior controller to the xbox 1 the xbox elite and xbox titaian fall in every way and would 100% recommend to any serious pc or console users especially if you can pick one up in the amazon warehouse deals..Ps a big humbs-up to amazon warehouse deals saved me over £60 on the controller and I picked up a £230 Beyerdynamic custom game headset for £90 as well also as new so check em out them amazon deals .. ☺

Better Than The Elite!Having played with an Elite for a couple of years, I was initially dubious if this would be a step up or not. Well I needn't have worried, it is!The paddles are much better positioned than the Elite, allowing you to play with or without them, but no removal required. Plus the two extra shoulder buttons are perfectly placed, again easily accessible but at the same time not intrusive. Perfectly placed if you need them, but not noticeable if you don't.In terms of configuration, on Windows 10, the Razer Synapse software available from MS Store, works well and without issue. It allows binding of the 4 paddles & 2 shoulder buttons including mapping them to back and start, which is a plus over the Elite. Also the lighting has numerous config settings, which is a nice touch. The controller is wired of course, which will either bother you or it wont. For me the fact that I'm getting improved latency, a lighter controller and no need for battery charging, offsets any downside of a cable. But its a consideration and potentially a minus depending on circumstances. Also, another thing to bare in mind, is that whilst it comes with 2 replaceable magnetic joysticks, you will only ever have one matching pair i.e the originals. It's a bizarre shortcoming and at this price I do feel Razer are just being tight! All in all, for me this is a better alternative to the Elite with the main reason being the placement and usability of the paddles and 2 additional shoulder buttons.

I recently purchased this razer controller for my Xbox one s and it’s perfect.Firstly, comparing this controller to the standard Xbox one controller it is much better, more light weight and fits nicely into my hands. I have owned a PS4 since they were released and this controller is on another level to the standard PS4 controller as it is way more comfortable.I expected the additional buttons, M1 - M6, to be difficult to use as I have small hands but they are incredibly easy to use while gaming. The sensitivity feature is very useful for first person shooters, like call of duty and rainbow six seige, when turning on enemy’s or temporality lowering the sensitivity to increase accuracy. In addition the A,B,X,Y buttons feel like the clicking on a mouse and are much more sensitive. The triggers are amazing and very easy to press down to aim down sights or shoot enemies. The controller itself looks great. I’ve never owned a controller like it with the lighting and the interchangeable analog sticks and D-pad.One downside is the wire but it is a very long wire which is useful and the wire also increases the response time of the controller if you are a competitive gamer. The only other downside is the controller is very expensive so it may be difficult for younger people to persuade their parents to buy them this controller.Overall, the controller is a must buy if you are a competitive gamer or you just have some spare money lying around.

I've only had this controller for a few days but I absolutely adore it !The button response and feeling is soo much better than the standard pad, including the thumbsticks. The 6 new buttons are placed easily without feeling unnatural (for myself), and you can really take advantage of not having to take your thumbs off of the sticks.I haven't used an Elite controller for comparison yet but I will ask a friend to bring one over in the future, and I'll re-visit this tiny review for my thoughts on that.I'm sure anyone interested in this has already watched a bunch of reviews on YT, they all seemed to give 2 negatives for the pad:WiredLess detachable thumbsticks (compared to the Elite)I personally prefer that it's wired because I'm always recharging wireless controllers, and they have a habit of going kaput when you're in the middle of your game.Yes it would have been nice to have a few more thumbsticks but the included ones are fine, although be warned they are ever so slightly larger than the Microsoft ones, meaning you may break Kontrolfreek attachments IF you use them. The only negative for me isn't the hardware itself, just the software when using the Xbox.Currently you are restricted to only being able to remap the extra buttons, not the standard ones. I've already put a request to Razor to consider this suggestion because it's useful being able to remap all of them, other than that it's excellent.

Absolutely perfect so worth the money I would 100% recommend this over any remote it is definitely worth payin the extra to get it.Comfy and durable best controller on the marketThe trigger stoppers are insaneThe paddles are amazingly responsive and easy to set upThe buttons y,a,x,b are so nice they are very mechanical and have a highly rapid responseThere is on one issue that’s that one with with wired controllers and your friends will hear a mic buzzing which can be annoying, the only way around this is to buy a wireless headset which is why I was going to of given it 4 stars because I expected better for £150 as I have used £20 wired remotes with the exact same issue, so it is a shame. However saying that I don't think there is a correction for this. But still worth it definitely.I have had this controller nearly 2 years and is as good as new! i recommed people clean there controllers often to avoid the biuld up of dirt which can cause breaks and delays.

It's very good in general, the buttons are very responsive, it vibrates nicely, you can replace the thumbsticks with another one if it suits you better. It has a lot of buttons, which I would expect that everyone has its own function, but I was very disappointed about those extra buttons as you can assign to them only other buttons from the gamepad, so for example, what the hell do I need 2 X buttons. I would prefer to have all buttons with a unique function. Another disappointment are the 4 buttons in front that are used to mute the microphone and change volume, personally I find them completely useless, because in order to use them you have to have the headphones connected thru the gamepad, but as my speakers or headphones are connected straight with the pc I can't control them. I think Razer should make a software update to enable this option and to assign to each button its own function.Overall I really like this product and enjoy it.

I've been using this controller for the good part of half a year now and I had the Elite before this controller. I would say that the Wolverine Ultimate is the better controller hardware wise. However it doesn't let you adjust party:game volume like the Elite does. Can be a pain when you have someone quiet in the party and you have to blast your eardrums with game sound just to hear your quiet friend in party. Excellent pairing with the Razer Synapse app on Xbox with a few extras. The permanently placed 4 paddles are actually a lot better than the elite's and I've got used to using all 4 paddles now.Update 1 year on: so I hope this is helpful for anyone who's looking for a more long term piece of hardware.Overall still works well. The only issue I've come across is that the back M3 button seems to have lost its sensitivity so sometimes doesn't register my inputs. Kind of frustrating when I use all the extra buttons.

I recently purchased this controller and am amazed at just how customizable it is. There are 6 extra buttons (2 on top, 4 behind) which can be customized to do pretty much whatever you need them to do. The removable thumbsticks and directional pad leave it open for huge amounts of options (as of writing, the controller comes with one extra different set, however I expect third parties to make more soon). The LEDs are customizable in the same way as any other RGB device (static, breathing, rainbow wave, etc). The back features triggers that by default are set to reduce, and increase the "dpi" of the analog sticks, which is amazing for shooting games and aiming. All in all I would highly recommend this controller.Having used the XBox One Elite, and given the choice between this and that, I would choose this every time.(I am mainly using this on my Windows 10 PC, and it works great)

I’m a PC gamer and of course for some games you just rather need a controller or have a better experience with one. After going through cheap controller after cheap controller I finally came to the realisation “why don’t I just buy a good premium one so that I aren’t buying one every few months that adds up to the same price anyway”Well I’m glad I did.. it’s beautiful, high quality, comfortable in the hand and the RGB.. well let’s just say I’m a sucker for it and my pc set up shows that ?You can change out the sticks and the directional pad really easy and I find the paddles on the back easy to reach for my hands and simple to re map to your liking. And of course lastly it’s razer so aesthetically it looks stunning as well.I recommend this if you are tired of a going through loads of cheap feeling controllers and want the best controller experience you can buy.

good controller, feels nice in hand, looks good, nice rgb, well made. Only downsides are the top 2 extra bumper buttons they have added can easily be pressed when pressing the left and right triggers especially when you have the trigger stops on, in the end i assigned the extra buttons to the triggers to resolve the problem, i think they are kinda pointless for fps at least, the paddles are nice and feel well made, the option to higher and lower the sensitivity while pressing a paddle down is a good idea but kinda pointless as i cannot see it being used much as part of someones playing style. The a x y b buttons are very nice and easy to press down as they feel like a mouse click. The controller also feels slightly bigger than the original xbox one controller with the buttons being more spaced out, this makes it harder to play claw but you can get use to it.

This was a choice between replacing my Elite controller or getting something different ,having had an elite for a few years I was happy with it until the problems started ( the same ones most of the first gen ones have ) decided to go for this one ,and over all not disappointed, the rear paddles/triggers are better placed than the elite that is for sure and I feel the whole thing has a little bit more customisation, the buttons are also more responsive, it is very light thou that is probably because I’m used to a wireless controller ,I get the reason behind it being wired ,but it would be nice to have the option,as I got this for £129 I’m pretty happy with it so far ,would I have paid the full price ?Probably not ,but as it was roughly the same as the elite and a scuff ,if you can get it for the same I would recommend it .

Ok first the moan...and not about this controller the X box elite....Microsoft I had one of these and only a year later both the rubber grips have come off and the left stick does not respond a common fault I believe but nothing from old Bill to compensate it's customers. Now to this controller its ten times better than the elite. It's more responsive, the comfort and position of the buttons are better and there is more of them. Yes it's wired which will put some people off but it's 3 metres so plenty for the couch potato. The over all feel is good it's lighter and as i already said the buttons area perfectly placed. Now I've only had this two days but I can feel the difference and I am very impressed well worth the money I am pleased I took the gamble to pay for this gaming price of goodness

Superb quality controller. Far better feel and more robust than an elite. Hair triggers work well and I leave them on all the time as more responsive. Nice tactile grips on handles. The extra shoulder buttons aren't the easiest to hit but the extra rear paddles work well. Nice option to customise the thumb stick height. I have big hands so the taller left thumb stick works well for me. The profile and mic mute buttons are great and come in really handy to switch on the fly. All in all a great controller. Don't buy this if you are thinking it will make you a top player if you aren't already - it's not a magic wand! You will see some SMALL improvement though but I would only buy if you are a serious gamer who is looking for a long lasting quality feel controller for those long gaming sessions.

Extremely sturdy but of kit. Everything feels very strong and proper. The paddles and extra buttons on the back are very useful and surprisingly feel very well placed. Rgb is very impressive but not distracting, the bottom headset port multip pad is absolutely perfect, very very well made and thought out, makes using party chat a breeze. Being able to mute, unmute change game and party volume and swap button profiles without going to a menu or even pausing is incredible. Only downside is mind came with a jammed X button. Wired controller sounds bad at first but the cable is very very long and threaded, additionally the connector from the wire to controller is textured and holds very firm with a big blocky port so it never comes loose.Very few complaints at all, would definately recommend
