My 18 year old daughter forgot her white Wii remote on a two week visit to Grandma's, so I had this official Nintendo Wii U Remote Plus sent to her direct from Amazon as I knew this vivid deep pink version would be a hit (and it was). I read online that it says it is 'compatible with the (original) Wii' on the front of the box, and that proved to be the case. This Remote Plus also includes the integrated Wii 'Motion Plus' accessory that used to be an add-on on the old Wii remotes. So 5*, as it all works perfectly with our old Wii, and even Barbie would admit the colour is to die for. The only downside is that there isn't an official Nintendo nunchuck to match any of these Nintendo remotes (there are only cheap generic pink versions),but this remote looks fine with a white Nintendo nunchuck anyway. This official Nintendo Wii U Remote Plus is also also available in a boy friendly matching blue version and the Mario special editions. The build quality is identical to our original Wii remotes. One year on, my 8 year old nephew's white Wii remotes had packed in, so I bought him the the Luigi green and Mario red limited edition versions (as they were on offer at £30 & £35). These also look great and work perfectly. My teenage kids say they prefer Luigi's green style to Mario's red alternative, but my nephew likes the red Mario one best - but still no matching nunchucks. I bought all these Wii remotes direct from Amazon as I suspect there may be poor quality fakes out there.

If you got a WiiU you may expect it to need WiiMotes for Wii games but I certainly did not expect it for some WiiU games like NintendoLand. It is pretty crazy IMHO that you need one for some mini-games but you cannot use the Pro controller! If you have an older Wii you may think you can use the old WiiMotes - but without the MotionPlus sensor they won't work with some games either.Unless you want to buy used or imported from Japan (which now is not that cheap) then you will have to buy some new WiiMotes/inc MotionPlus controller which can be anything up to 40 quid - similar to the Pro Controller!Surprisingly the character-branded WiiMotes are cheaper than the plain colour ones - and also likely to keep their value better though they don't seem to be "limited edition" anymore. But everyone loves Mario/Luigi so you cannot really go wrong with those. Hopefully in the years to come if you keep them nice you may get some money back...I'd have given 3-stars for the price but with the branding at lower cost +1 star.

I was first skeptic to buy one of these due to the much higher price compared to the normal remote plus. Heck, you can buy the Wii party U that comes bundled with a wii remote plus for a cheaper price.I already owned 2 black Wii remote plus controllers but I just fell in love with the look of it. I would like to point out that the second picture here is quite misleading, it's not that bright green it's just as dark and nice as the one on the box.Anyhow, I ended up buying one and well it's a Wii remote! Unless your not a hardcore Mario/Luigi fan I would recommend the standard remote because not only is this one more expensive it's also a big shame that they didn't release a matching nunchuck to go with it!So if you have the money go for it!If not buy the Party U bundle and get more value for your money!EDIT: As of now the Luigi remote is a bit cheaper than the Wii U Party bundle. If you are not a fan of party games than get this one! It is almost the same price as the dull black one! (2013-11-17).

The Wii remote has come a long way since the console first came out. More sensors, better build quality, and the included wrist strap and rubber grip to protect your TV and living room from damage are all definitely improvements on the older iterations of the remote.I've never gone for non-Nintendo Wiimotes, and have never had to replace a single one for any reason - they've lasted well, and I only picked up these to ensure I had a full complement for my new Wii U (with matching colours, of course...) Honestly I'm not sure why people would risk the off brand copies to save a few quid, heard nothing but bad stories after a few months use. These remotes feel well made, sturdy, and built to last and survive being used and abused - plus trade-in values are much better for proper controllers versus the fakes...Definitely recommend these, no question about it. Seems expensive now (which it is) but compared to the cost of fakes needing regular replacement, it's a no brainer.

Love this controller and was pleasantly surprised that the gimmick looks fab.We needed a spare and this was of the same cost as a regular replacement wii U controller. It has proven to be popular (read fist-fights). The colours are attractive and the graphics are well imprinted with little wear despite rigorous use.The controller works well and is of a robust construction. It has the loop space on the bottom and like other Wii remotes, can take a rechargeable battery unit. It sits in the hand in the same way as a supplied controller as it has the same sizing and dimensions. Which, if you have a docking unit like we do, makes a big difference. The unit is equally responsive to a regular unit and works well in normal gameplay without issues.Buttons work as expected and provide the same soft-touch feedback as the regular units.Overall, would recommend as a much more attractive option over the bland normal ones!

This was a gift and came well packaged. It is really solid and well made but surprisingly small and light in the hand... lighter than my original wiimotes. It came with a plastic sleeve and needs 2 AA batteries not included. It did not have instructions on how to sync and I had forgotten that to do this you need to open the little sd card flap on the wii console and press the red button there to enable it to sync. After this its smooth sailing.Picks up all hand movements, really smooth and not jerky like the old wiimotes and needed the motion plus function to.play a game for which it was a prerequisite.Expensive but worth getting if you don't want to pick up the small box that fits onto theoriginal wiimotes and does the same thing.Great buy.

I have always bought the genuine Nintendo accessories since getting my original Wii console, and they have never let me down. This version comes in Mario livery and adds a bit of colour to the otherwise white or black colour scheme of Wii Remotes (plus it's cheaper). It works exactly as expected and is essential for the Wii U for multiplayer gaming. Additionally, it has the MotionPlus technology built-in, so if - like me - you have been using Wii Remotes with the MotionPlus gadget clipped on, this is a worthy upgrade. It's smaller and obviously the MotionPlus attachment can't come loose and stop your gaming.A highly recommended accessory for the Wii U.

I saw this had 2 very good reviews and that it was cheaper than the white/black remotes. Personally I would have chosen this one anyway as I liked the idea of pink so the fact it was cheaper was a bonus. It arrived today and I am so pleased. I recently brought a wii u and it didn't come with the remotes, my old wii ones had packed up so i was annoyed I had to spend £26 on a new one. However it was the best £26 I have spent. It is a lovely colour pink, has a quality strap on it, and also comes with a protective cover on ! I am actually going to buy another one. Very very pleased. Would definitely recommend. I can't wait to use it!

Genuine Nintendo remote. Comes with 2 batteries and slip cover so can be used immediately. Comes in Luigi colours with a green front with blue back. Also have the red Mario remote. Unique colours come in handy for identifying which remote is which when you are playing with multiple players, or have multiple family members with their own remotes. Also pretty cool to have remotes with Nintendo character themes on themWorks exactly as a standard Wii remote, with built in motion plus making it easier to grip than the motion plus extension for the older Wii remotes. Overall great product.

Came two days before the earliest date described, a replacement for my old white Wii Remote from an really old Wii, the remote which sadly stopped working. Really only needed a second Wiimote for Wii Fit, but this one came with a really nice design, a real snazzy wrist strap and its own covering to keep it safe from falls. A great purchase, nice to not have that dead and dirty old Wiimote in focus anymore. These 'limited' edition ones are a bit more expensive that the regular ones, but for me the good points outweigh the price.

Bought to go with a Mario & Luigi Wii U console pack, Mario and the Luigi Wii Motes really went well with it great bit of kit with the silicone case, wrist strap and batteries. I would drop stars as very expensive for controllers for the console but its comparable to others and its motion plus, rumble, and shows what number player is with a small blue light. Very nice play experience. We needed 4 wii motes and got 2 nunkuks so were lucky to have doubled up points in a supermarket to get the console half price.

After upgrading to the Wii U, it's time to get a brand new remote. I say brand new as I myself never had foresight to keep my originals; it's quite easy to forget their value both in terms of gameplay and cost. The bright side is that Wii Remotes today are available in different colours (black, blue, pink, red and white) and with Motion Plus built in, so there's plenty to gain. After doing some research, there seems to be a unanimous agreement that the 'Wii U' branded remote is exactly the same as the older

Its a Wii remote...we all know what they do....don't we?It does what it says on the box I don't see the point in giving any rave reviews about it.The price is average, although still far too high for what it is in my estimation. The only difference is this one is pink....big deal....that's what she wanted ...that's what she got. What do you want me to say?The whole tech electronics industry is just one big rip off anyway, either your in or your out.Your choice.

The WII U MOTE is basically a WII MOTION PLUS controller and is compatible with both the WII and WII U. It is comfortable to hold and is responsive on screen. The remote comes with a protective cover and wrist strap. I have purchased the special editions of Mario and Luigi. These remotes are only different in aesthetics otherwise they are identical, although I must admit I enjoy the personal touch they provide and it prevents arguments to who's controllers who's.

I love my Wii U console and if your looking for an official Nintendo product that is definitely a European model and not from any other region look no further the upgraded motion control is slightly improved although its not incredibly noticeable love the black colour to match my console and these remote's are backwards compatible so will work on your old Wii console, would recommend getting a re-chargeable battery pack if you want to save on AA batteries.
