The third game most people will be looking at when buying their Wii U is this one, it's very easy to quickly write it off as a Wii Sports type game: A demo to show off what things are like on the console. In some ways it is but it does stand on it's own feet as a standalone title too. (which is the way I bought it as was more value for money to get the Zombieu pack.) There's a central hub where all of the attractions are held along with it's own host. Whom you will come to loathe.I'm going to be looking at the majority of the games. Keep in mind the multiplayer ones I haven't had as much of a go on compared to the others.Takamaru's Ninja Castle: 1 Player - Take on Ninja in this frantic game,It's essentially an on-rails shootem up only you use the gamepad to slide the ninja stars at the screen. It got quite challenging rather quickly.Metroid Blast: 1-5 Players - The person in the gamepad flies Samus' ship, the wii-motes are on foot. It felt like one of those arcade shooting games where you are in a ship firing down on all of the little enemies. Its more up close if you are on the ground and you just pray that your shipman will be able to take out as much as possible else you'll be overwhelmed.Animal Crossing: Sweet Day: 2-5 players: Some of you play as the animals to try and grab as many sweets while another plays as the guards to stop them. It was quite frantic from what we played.Donkey Kong's Crash Course: 1 player - Guide your cart to the end in one piece. This one is just so addicting, you use the gamepad to direct the cart over contraptions and obstacles to reach the end in as quick as possible. Except the cart is so unstable just about anything will knock it over. It's very addicting to play.Yoshi's Fruit Cart: 1 player - you gotta eat all the fruit and make it to the exit by drawing a line. The snag is that the fruit and obstacles are on your TV screen while you draw on the screen below. It's a simple concept but very difficult to master. Probably one of my favouritesMario Chase: 2-5 player - One player is Mario, the rest are Toads. You need to outrun the toads as they work together to try and stop you. Personally I don't think the 2-5 player games work so well unless you have 3 or more people in. 1 vs 1 is just not challenging at all.Pikmin Adventure: 1-4 players - Sad that Pikmin 3 was delayed? Don't fret! This one has one of you playing as Olimar and the rest as the Pikmin as you take on toy versions of the Pikmin world. It feels like an entire Pikmin game shrunk down in order to tide us over till Pikmin 3. SO much fun.Captain Falcon's Twister Race: 1-player: I couldn't really get this one to work. It kept asking me to configure the gamepad. Once I got it was ok. Basically it's get around the track while avoiding obstacles.Octopus Dance: 1-player: The worst one on here. It's essentially a follow the rhythm game as the diverman does a combination of moves and you need to follow them. I suppose if you are thrilled with games like Just Dance you might enjoy it more.Luigi's Ghost Mansion: 2-5 players One is Luigi and you need to stop the ghosts before they get you. It's fun as the other 2-5 games but you really need 3 or more people. Unfortunately I haven't tried it much. The Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest: 1-4 players: Gamepad is the bow-man, the rest are the sword and shield guys. Join together in a quest for the triforce as you vanquish enemies together. This one is a lot of fun too.Balloon Trip Breeze: 1 player: Remember the old game Balloon Trip? It makes a return here, you use the gamepad in order to blow yourself along the course and collecting as many balloons as possible.Central Tower Coin Game: 1 player: Not really a game like the rest but worth mentioning. As you play the games you'll collect coins to use in this, think of it like those arcade machines where it goes down and you can win more coins or sometimes a prize. Fill all of the holes with coins to earn a prize which will enter your Plaza. Prizes are usually jukebox songs for the Plaza but also items to go there based on what you've seen in the games. The game is really a lot of fun especially with friends, however the downside is that there's no way to play online with it. And as good as they are I can't help but feel that there could have been a few more games. How about 'A Busy day in Onett: One player as Ness while 3 others as Aliens where you need to stop them with Ness' PSI powers?' or a 1-4 adventure using Fire Emblem? But it does it's job.Pros:+ There's a game there for everyone+ Bringing back some lesser known games like Game + Watch, Takamaru, Balloon Trip and F-Zero for new generations+ Plenty of cheerful and great tunes from classic series+ Plaza can fill up with so many Miis+ Fun for all the family, and even on your own+ More than just a demo showing off what the Wii U can doCons:- Octopus Dance- Problems with F-Zero configuring- No online modes- Feel they could have done more games- The guide is so annoying.Nintendoland is an essential purchase for the Wii U. Even if you picked the Zombie pack over it.

This is actually a compilation of 12 games and it is more or less a demonstration pack for the Wii U that is aimed primarily at children and families. If you are new to the Wii U and you can get this game for about £20 then I would thoroughly recommend it. It takes you through some highly adapted classic Nintendo games of the past and applies tem to a series of fun adventures that fully demonstrate the graphics and playability of the Wii U. It also has stand-alone value as a good family game to play at get-togethers etc. it would be ideal as a family event after a Christmas dinner or something like that if you can keep awake after eating too much turkey. The individual games cover a range of different themes to suit as many tastes as possible. They are set out as a kind of ‘theme park’ where the games are represented as park zones. You can move around the theme park and go in and out of zones as you wish. The zones include cute games such as Animal Crossing Sweet Day, combat games such as Zelda Battle Quest and racing games such as Mario chase. Each game has different aims and objectives and they appeal to a range of different adults and childrenYou play some games, such as Donkey Kong’s Crash Course, in single player mode. Other games such as Mario Chase are designed for multi-player mode. Interestingly some of the multiplayer mode games such as Animal Crossing Sweet Day, are designed as competitive games while others, such as Metroid Blast are designed for team work. In the team games two or more players play together as a team against the console. In my opinion Luigi’s Ghost Mansion is the best individual game. One player is a ghost in a haunted mansion and the other players have to chase around after him or her carrying torches. It is a great team game and encourages cooperation and team work in children. It has real playability and is guaranteed to keep children entertained for a long time.I bought the game for my four year old great grandson and, with a little help from me, he can get along just fine with most to of the games. The games all have good staying power and will hold your interest for a good long time. Even seasoned gamers will find some aspects quite challenging. There are coins and other things to find and collect as you go through the various games. The coins can be saved up and used to win prizes at various points in the theme park. The coins are a bit like the stars in the Super Mario games and you soon find yourself hunting for them. They work very well to increase the staying power of the games. The graphics and game play are excellent; just what you would expect from Nintendo. The games involve everything from excitement to humour and have real child and family appeal. The possible downsides are (a) you can't play most of the games properly in single player mode even if you want to and (b) it has a kind of 'compilation feel' about it. It is essentially a mix of adapted forms of classic games. It works well but the feeling that it is 'bolted together' is always there. For this reason I have given it 4 stars.Overall I would say this is a great all round compilation and ideal for people who are new to the Wii U. it is also ideal for younger children and families. At around £20 I consider it a good bargain.

Nintendo Land is, quite simply, the best demonstration available for Wii U and its Game Pad. Whereas the original Wii console used sports as a way reference motion control, Nintendo Land is focused on much broader styles of gameplay that also test more of the users skills. The package features 12 mini-games that are contained within a circular park attraction, and controlling their Mii character, a user has the freedom to wander around and explore the different activities on offer. These mini-games are well documented, but it's important to note that they all have vastly different requirements - be them the minimum number of players or indeed the type of controller being used. Because of this,Nintendo Land cannot be completed alone as it designed to be enjoyed with other players around you, and it does an excellent job this. Luigi's Ghost Mansion demonstrates 'hide and seek' capabilities in a group game, Mario Chase requires teamwork, Yoshi's Fruit Cart teaches you precise stylus input and memory techniques, and so the list goes on... There really is something for everyone! Some longevity exists in the form of Stamps and Trophies, but the main attraction are Coins. These can be spent on a classic look 'Coin Drop' game in which you must land the tokens over awkwardly placed targets; doing so rewards you with a Prize for each stage. It's pretty addictive, and is certainly one of the highlights of Nintendo Land. The Mii community eventually gathers inside your Land, making it a bustling and funny place. You can meet other Mii's and survey their posts, which is good as you realise you weren't the only one frustrated on a certain level of a game! The community is controlled nicely. To improve on the experience, I feel Nintendo could have done a little more with the Prize scheme (which is featured in the central 'coin game'). They are nice tokens, but in reality serve no purpose other than to make a small sound and action when you click on them. It would have been better if they actually provided some sort of enhancement to the gameplay, or were even just bite-size arcade games to play on the Game Pad. Another suggestion might be to improve the navigation between the mini-games themselves, as you have to walk around looking 'up' in order to find the desired boarding, and the train only speeds this up slightly.Niggles aside, Nintendo Land is a perfect family and party game. It offers challenges for players of all experiences, and at some points can even go beyond 'difficult' in possibly the most respectful way - Nintendo just know how to make simple but effective games. Just make sure you have a healthy supply of other controllers!

Great Game, I love that you can play 5 players on many of them as me and my four friends find wii games frustrating as we have to rotate turns. Moving on to the actual gameplay, the lobby is well designed, giving people a motive to try harder and try and get on the leaderboard. I have played this game both by myself, and with friends.Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest:This game is by far my favourite, I have lost track of how many hours I have spent playing it. I am usually on the gamepad, playing with the bow and arrow, the controls are great and levels entertaining. There's a good mix of easy and difficult levels, with the first 3 being ones I play with family and friends for some light-hearted gaming, and the final 5 ones I play with select friends when we're looking for a more immersive and competitive experience. 5/5Pikmin Adventure:I've never been a huge Pikmin fan, but this game is good, the controls are good, with the gamepad controls catering for lefties also. The levels are good, and sticking relatively close to the original. 3/5Metroid Blast:This is my sister's favourite game, with lots of fighting and different modes, you can play airship vs land, land vs land or as a team. The controls are well thought out, although they are quite complicated, and for that reason I would not recommend it for young children (under 10?) or gamers who prefer "light" gaming. 4/5Mario Chase:I love this one, very competitive and tense, you can here a lot of screaming (in a good and excited way) when we play this game! It has good, simplistic controls and a simple yet fun gameplay style, chasing mario is more fun than you'd think! 4/5Luigi's Ghost Mansion:A good game, you have to find the ghost while the ghost tries to hunt you down, I love the integration of the gamepad to allow someone to take on the role of the ghost without the other players being able to see their actions. A great party game. 4/5Animal Crossing: Sweet Day:A good game, not quite as tense and exciting as the other two games in the 'competitive' category, but fun nonetheless. I love the use of animal crossing characters and integration of the gamepad to have two characters being controlled by one person. 3/5I'm not going to go into detail about the solo games, as I do not find them the highlight of the game, but as a whole they are unique and a definite bonus for the game. Personally I mainly play them when playing the tour mode, where you take turns playing multiple games. As a whole, I love nintendo land and I think it is a must have for any wii u owner looking for some fun party games that all ages and gaming repertoire can play.

Nintendoland is great party game, especially played in a larger group. The game overs 12 attraction games that are presented as a large carnival. The player can play 6 solo games, which include, Fruit Cart a Yoshi game. The player has to guide Yoshi to all fruits and the goal by drawing his trail on the game pad. Other games are: Takamaru's Ninja Castle: You fight against other ninjas. Octopus Dance: A rhythm-based game where you must memorize the movement of the character in a short amount of time. Captain Falcon's Twister Race: A race where it's goal is to survive. Donkey Kong's Crash Course: where you control a fragile kart through course.Balloon Trip Breeze: The player navigates their miis through many obstacles by creating a breeze .The game also offers attraction games that can be played both solo or in a co-op team. In The legend of Zelda: Battle Quest, you and/or your team must work through a path where the goal is to defeat monsters. In Metroid Blast: Deep Space Shootout which works similar as to the zelda attraction. This Attraction also offers a versus mode, where the wii-mote players play against the gamepad user. Next to those games is also Pikmin Adventure, which is a good preparation for Pikmin 3 (projected for release spring 2013). Similar to the Metroid game, there is a story based mode and a versus mode. The main 3 attractions are Luigi's Ghost Mansion, Mario Chase, and Animal Crossing: Sweet day. They shine with at least 4-5 players (though they are playable with at least 2). These games base off highly on communication and cooperation to beat the gamepad player. I don't want to go into much detail, as these are the best attractions in Nintendoland.I lusted for more 2-5 player games than solo attractions. Additionally the multiplayer games seemed to have undergone more balancing, as they bring out more emotions while playing. There wasn't much variety when playing with friends, we did get bored playing Nintendoland after awhile.Aside from this crucial mistake, what it had to offer was still fun. The graphics were beautiful, peaceful, and silly. The atmosphere was perfect. But this game isn't for everyone.

just before we start im going say, im not going to do individual reviews of the "attractions" or mini games, as i belive enough reviews have done that. im going to review the product as a whole and genrally.gameplaythere are some stand out mini games such as mario chace, donkey kong kart game (i cant remember the name) along with the metroid one, then you get the games which prehapes arent to amazing infact the one that comes to mind is complete rubish such as the the octopuss dance one, while all the games have the extra depth that wii sports lacked so paying £30-40 i wouldnt mind doing (in my case i had it as an xmas present as i had the zombiu pack)it truly teaches you the way that the gamepad can be used and does it in such a fun way.the franchise they use are all supprisingly fin and being a nintendo fan myself i know the majority of them theres one which i have no clue about but thats because it never saw a european release, it also always new fans to get to know the charcters that are perhapes less reconisable such as the legend of zelda, ballon fighter (which is a vitual console game i completly recommend) and animal crosiing.the graphics look fantastic and fresh, they look like they have been sown, infact when link takes damage in zelda battle quest part of his stiching rips which is truly a nice thing, this game has a childish falre to it espacilly with its graphics but as an 18 male i find it fun.the true reason though to get this game is for the multiplayer experince such as mario chace animal crossing sweet day and lugis ghost mansion, these are what make this game worth the purchase, if you play more solo games there are the zelda and metroid games which i whole hartedly think that these have more depth than any mini game i have played before. and forthat i think this game doesent deseve less than 5 out of 5 although in a way i wish i could give it 4 and half because some of the games lack the fun i would have expected.

I have spent a solid amount of time playing the various games in the Nintendoland collection. The idea behind Nintendoland is to demonstrate the various aspects of the controller but giving you some interesting ways to play.Games which we are hooked on include Yoshi Fruit with it's unique challenges, Pikmin Adventure which feels like a complete game by itself and Zelda Quest. The ideas behind each game have been thought out enough to make it enjoyable but challenging which in some ways keeps the various games interesting and rewarding with it's unique stamp achievements. One game which I'm not overly impressed with is the Octupus Dance, it feels far to difficult and frantic compared to the other games. Also you might only get a tip on how something needs to be done after losing a life.Overall with a few of you playing the game is fun and certainly held our interest for several hours in numerous sittings.Certainly a title I can recommend, if only ZombiU was as fun.

Nintendo Land has well-thought-through games. They are tons of fun. What also raises how good it is is it's difficulty. Most party games like this are far too easy, but this one is actually difficult at places. Especially the Donkey Kong Game. I spent hours trying to complete it. Not to mention that my sister, really enjoyed it, which is weird because she doesn't really like any games. This is a game for the entire family, even those who find games pointless. The variety of games is a little short - 15. It'll keep you occupied for days or even weeks, but some may find the lack of variety tedious. The game does require wii motion plus for some multiplayer games. It's not impossible to enjoy the game without them, but I recommend you get them before.

We have a large collection of Wii U games to choose from. This has been helped by the excellent prices you can get Wii U games for. Kids keep going back to this game though as its so entertaining. Lots going on for multi play, lots of fun for all ages including us parents & great graphics. We did not buy this game as it was included in our first bundle console & for the price brilliant. We bought a second Wii U with this included as well in the bundle & we even use that copy as its that good!!! The Kids have not been bored since & we are even taking our Wii U (only one of the consoles) to Tenerife south (apartment) next week cause its that good. Have fun with a Wii U.

I found this a really helpful introduction to the Wii U. Each game area provides a guide for how to use the game pad with each type of game. This gives you a good idea as to how to get the most from your Wii U experience. As a complete novice to the world of gaming, I enjoyed each of the areas and found this game to be an essential starting point. With regards to the service and communication, I also found these to be excellent. The delivery was next day and the company issued clear dispatch information. Product was new and sealed, exactly as expected.I wouldn't hesitate to use this supplier again - many thanks!

2.11.2013

I got this from Argos with the Wii U deal anyway. Not as fun as I expected it to be by yourself this is why.The game only has 6 1 player modes to pick all others are 2 player you need more players to play the other games that's not good if you don't have any friends to play this with.Downside was the long intro you been intro by a robot then after you do a game and quit he pops up again to say more things about it just let us do it our selfs.I guess this is like a party game after all just like Wii Sports which had better games.

11.10.2013

This is a well made game, in my opinion as good as wii sports was when launched if not better. Great graphics, lots of collectible items and very addictive games. My personal favorites are the Zelda and Metroid game when playing solo or with friends, and luigi's mansion and mario chase for local multiplayer. For 15 pounds that is the price at the time of this review, it's a bargain. You should not have the slightest consideration when you purchase this at this price. Definetely worth the money.

NintendoLand is just another reason to own a Wii U. I've rarely had more fun with friends in videogaming than when playing the Luigi's Ghost Mansion mini-game - it's simple and brilliant, much like most of the games in the collection. Very reasonably priced now and for parties it's a no-brainer. Alongside Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World and the upcoming Smash Bros, the Wii U is the couch multiplayer console of choice, and NintendoLand is a great place to begin.

29.5.2015

Found this really useful to learn all that the wii u game pad can do. I was honestly surprised to see what you can do with the game pad. It's great for all ages with some very addictive games! Loved it but must say that I lost interest quite quickly (that could be because I played it so many times with different people in a short space of time though!). This was a very good price when I brought it and would definitely recommend to anyone that owns a wii u :)

4.12.2012

In a word this game is fantastic, although it does need to be played with others to get the most enjoyment. The one player games are ok but do become a little tedious after a few hours. However, this games was clearly designed for multi-player and it does exactly that. The fact that one player using the new game pad is fantastic which gives a different complex on the games.I would highly recommend if you have plenty of friends.
