Being a keen gamer theirs always a heap of controllers lying around , but the one thats the most recognisable is the wii mote.===Size===One of the most important things for a controller is that it fits snug into your hands , so you can play for a good amount of time and not feel pain or discomfort. The controller is 15cm long , this allows it too be small enough to hold in your hand , but big enough to feel in control of. The top end of the wii mote curves in leaving an ergonomic design for your trigger finger to fit snuggly onto the B button. It also comes with a wrist strap to stop any accidents , such as getting a bit over keen on the golf and striking it through your telly. The strap is big and has a small stopper that you pull up so the straps secure.===Feel===You want the controller to be easy to hold and no resistance when making a quick movement. The wii mote has a very smooth surface , so you can easily press the buttons, however due to the main controlling being movement , this doesn't affect the wii mote as much. Although the controller has a slippery surface so if your hands get sweaty you soon start to feel it moving around.===Responce===The wii mote is relatively responsive , the wii mote only notes movement in certain directions although this has been reworked with the addition of wiimotion plus, although this is an addon and personally think its a rip off that you must pay extra to make the controller do what its supposed to. You wouldnt buy a playstation controller without the joysticks. The buttons don't have a lot of resistance so its responce in that sense is very good, although the B button is quite heavy coming back up after being pressed.===Build===Because the wii mote does get chucked around and used vigourousley ,its a good job its rugged. The wiimote is built to take small knocks when being used , which is to be expected.===Buttons===A run down of the controller. On the top of the wiimote is the sensor , you want this pointed towards the reciever on top of your tv.Moving to the face of the remote you have a small power button which will start up the wii but not the controller. Below this is a D pad to move around menus easier. Underneath this is the A button usually used for selecting options or objects. In the middle of the mote is a minus and plus button used to pause the game, to be honest these are barely used. Inbetween these is the home button, this can be pressed to pause the game and go back to the main screen of the wii. Below this is the wiimotes speaker. At the bottom of the face is a 1 and 2 button , these are used in a multitude of ways based on the game. And finally the controller number at the bottom, out of the 4 squares , whichever ones blue is your number. On the bottom of the remote is the adapter to the knunchuck and chargers. The back of the mote has a B button , generally used for shooting and turning on the controller.===Speaker===Although the speaker is small it's actually surprisingle clear, when using it with wii fit you can easily hear the trainers voice through the remote , even when it's in your pocket.===Price/Availability===1 comes with the wiiAlso available in blackVarying skins and covers are availableNeeds 2 AA batteries===Overall===An ok controller but the movement aspect needed work.

The Wii Remote Controller is shaped like a standard TV remove, and has motion sensing ability. You wave it around, and your on-screen character waves their wand! This isn't an add-on controller - this is the actual, standard controller that most if not all games on the Nintendo Wii use as their primary control unit. There is also a "nunchuck" that can be used in your off hand, but many games don't use the nunchuck. The aim of the Wii was to make gaming as simple and intuitive as possible for the casual non gamer. Pretty much every person with a TV is comfortable using a TV remote. You point, you click. The Wii Remote Controller works in the same fashion. The motion sensors know what you are doing with the remote. If you're playing a baseball game, you swing at the ball. If you're playing a bowling game, you bring your arm back and swing it forward. Everything "makes sense". A sword swing? A light saber battle? Just move your arm and the character does the same thing. There are only two buttons that really matter. There's an A button on the front that you push for most operations. There's also a trigger underneath that is the B button. Depending on the game, they will have you use one or the other button. There are also a few other buttons for more complex gaming. There's a D-pad. A "home" button lets you go instantly back to the main Wii menu if you're tired of playing. There's a plus and minus button, a 1 and 2 button. There's even a power button. You don't have to walk over to your Wii any more to turn it on or off. Just hit the power button on the remote and you're all set.The remote runs on two AA batteries, so there's no USB plugging in or charging up, as with the other systems' remotes. You do get a wrist strap, though, so the Wii remote doesn't fly out of your hands while you're doing a super powerful golf swing. There's even a speaker in the remote! This is great if you're playing a game against another player. Say I'm boxing my boyfriend and I am the winner. *My* remote says that I triumphed, to me. Neat!I definitely love the Wii remote controller. It's light, it's super easy to use, it's intuitive and I can just pop batteries into it when it runs out, instead of having to wait for a recharge. Highly recommended. Just note that if you want to play a game that needs a nunchuck as well, that you have to buy that separately.

I'm not going to go into detail about the Wii or the games, because thats not what this is about. The controller is simply what makes the Nintento Wii the console that it is. The motion sensitive controls have proved popular even with my grandma who found it perfectly easy to use and ended up bowling a couple of strikes. For the most part this controller works excellently, however, If there are alot of 2.4ghz wireless connections around you the one on the Wiimote will cut out occasionally, this isn't normally a problem as most software seems to cut down the rumble or speaker signal, and keep the motion sensitive and pointer signals. However, other do not do so (such as red steel, which loses the pointing capability occasionally). This is not Nintendo's fault however and so you can make do by turning off the speaker and rumble features and you're playing quite happily after that.A little pointer to the one of the other reviewers, the motion sensing has nothing to do with the Wii-mote 'seeing' the sensor bar, as you put it, that is only used as a light source for the pointer to orient itself. The only real problems with this controller are that it's not quite sensitive enough for little movements (i.e. putting in Wii Golf), and it absolutely eats batteries. You have a choice, either buy duracell Alkaline's for £[...] a week, or buy some 2400MaH Ni-Mh batteries with a charger for around £[...], which should only need charging once every 3-4 days (with constant use). The truth of this controller is that it is just plain fun, it is the ultimate party controller and one that allows you to interact with your games on a whole other level, and in some cases, streamlines the way you've played games before now. Enough talk now, go try one yourself and make your own mind up.

Nintendo has, once again, completely reinvented the game controller. Like the D-pad, like shoulder buttons, like the analog thumb-stick, they've taken what we *know* to be the right control scheme for console games and thrown it completely out the window in favor of something.... else.By this time, everyone should know what exactly this thing is supposed to do, so I won't reiterate. What I will say is that, quite simply, it delivers on the promises. It works. It does exactly what they said it would.Motion control, rumble, speaker, pointer, everything. Just like before, *this* is the way a console game should be controlled. My only minor gripes:Batteries: I really wish they had seen fit to provide a rechargeable battery option.I can only hope that a 3rd party will solve this problem, and solve it well (bonus points if they *don't* use the extension port of the Wiimote to charge the battery... so you can keep the nunchuck attached while charging)Ergonomics: This is 90% perfect ergonomicaly, but I wish that come controls were a *bit* easier to access during play. I have fairly large hands, and I need to shift my grip to reach the top of te D-pad and the 1 & 2 buttons. I imagine that children or those with smaller hands will have even more trouble.

The Wii controller is a revolution. Everybody is raving about it. The next generation of consoles (and perhaps even updates to the PS3 and XBOX360?) will sport similar controllers. But the controller does have a couple of minor weakpoints:1) the pointing function (e.g. shooting) needs you to point it almost directly at the screen. It's quite common to see people, especially new users, "lose" the pointer because they are not pointing directly at the TV screen.2) games that require you to hold the controller sideways like a steering wheel aren't as sensitive, because the infrared receiver on the controller can't "see" the sensor bar.3) the nunchuk isn't detected in as much detail as the Wii controller itself (the nunchuk doesn't "see" the sensor bar). This shows on games like Wii sports boxing, where you have less control over your left hand than your right. So the Wii controller is more like a reasonable start, and currently the best gaming controller, rather than the best controller that WILL ever be built.

There's not much to really explain since this is just a Wii remote but if you are thinking of buying a generic brand of remote it's a bad idea.If you ever buy one of these I would definitely buy the Nintendo brand ones I have went through three of the Nyko brand ones and now I buy only Nintendo brand. It's really bad if you use the battery packs with either of them but if you use one with a Nyko don't expect it to last more then three months. The best setup would the Nintendo remote with normal heavy duty batteries or to save money use Energizer lithium rechargeables just the normal ones not the packs they destroy since you charge them with the energy going through the remote also and this willkill them off eventually.Overall the Nintendo brand may be expensive but they will last forever. If the new Nintendo brand ones seem too expensive try buying used ones on this site you can get very nice ones on here for like 20$ if not less.

Ok so I first looked at the Wii Controller's and thought Eurch! It differs so much from the normal hand held controllers and the fact that you have to swing it around is a just cause for accidents (as we have recently seen in the news), However I also read a review by a woman who has lost all four fingers on her left hand and now only has the use of her thumb, she is an avid gamer but finds it difficult to play games obviously, with the new Wii Remote having difficulty playing games is now a different matter, I am unsure whether Nintendo had the disabilty factor in mind but they've certainly scored well with the Wii Remote, however being some what of an avid gamer myself the controller still differs to much from the conventional controller and is one of the first that can be a damged to your health and those around you for me to like it 100%

This is GREAT! I can just point it at the screen and the cursor appears there (or a bit below, but that doesn't matter)! Then there's the motion sensors which are also outstanding (e.g. when you`re playing tennis, you can just pretend to be holding a racket and swing your remote and your on-screen charecter (or mii) whacks the ball! There's also a speaker in the remote which makes it better (e.g on Wii play when you are playing "shooting range" when you shoot it makes a noise like a gun). There's also vibration (e.g when you're playing monster 4x4 WC when you get hit by a barrel the controller vibrates). Vibraition and the speaker can both be turned off to stop the batteries running out quite so fast.Talking about batteries, that leads us to the only bad bit: it eats batteries quite quickly.

Pros: I was looking for a wiimote for my computer, because the one from my wii is the newer "RVL-CNT-01-TR" which is not easy to make work with Linux, WIndows, or Mac. The old fashion on (this one) is the "RVL-CNT-01" which has no problems. I have made this one connect to the Manjaro (ARCH) Linux and Ubuntu Gnome Remix Linux. Easy to map; I used it to play some games and browse the web far away from my laptop.Cons: I would have liked a silicon cover...Other thoughts: I look forward to play some steam linux native games that are out right now and even more, the one's that I supported via KickStarter. A lot of native linux games are coming out this year(2013), like Left 4 Dead 2, Portal 1&2,Half Life saga, Wasteland 2(new), Divinity Original Sin(new), and many other new titles. (^o^)

I recently purchased this item, it was packaged well and in manufacturers packaging with authenticity certificate.I am well pleased with this item and now that i av this extra wiimote to my package, no more moans from my dad that i take too long passing him control, he can now av 1 jus for him.Only thing av trouble with is my room is fairly small so i haven't managed to play 2 person table tennis for fear hitting each other - perhaps need more space! But I don't regret buying this product and reccomend buying from here if ya need an extra wiimote.1 more thing the price was the cheapest around for the official wiimote at time of purchase saving valuable pennies - always a gud thing!!

Once you've decided to buy a nintendo Wii you're going to need to get at least one of these to play games. If you buy a package deal, like the one I got on Amazon for 129.99, this comes with the console and wii sports/sports resort cds, but you'll need a controller for every player, so to have a four player game of Mario Kart, you'll need to buy three more of these. They don't come cheap, but in general Amazon is the best place to get them for price. I bought this one from Amazon marketplace, so of course there is the extra 2.80 you have to add to the price for postage and packaging, but there is no way round having to get this essential piece of kit.

This controller would have five stars if the teeny tiny cord that connects the wrist strap to the controller gave me more confidence. I simply do not trust that it will hold together and I've seen evidence from others that it does indeed tend to break.I love the gameplay you have with this and am looking forward to other controller types being released. Perhaps they will have something you can attach to your feet for some kick boxing :-)UPDATE: I wanted to update this review since Nintendo has addressed my main concern. They added a thicker strap and also added the rubber grip to this controller. With these additions this deserves 5 stars.

My first remote lasted almost six months with daily use. I called wii to see if anything could be done (1-800-255-3700). They were very helpful and ran through a couple of options but nothing worked. The cost of repair is [...] (odd?) plus S&H so buying a new one is the best option. The old remote has only some functions that do not work so we still keep it. It was placed in a Mario Cart wheel and tossed onto our sofa a few times but that, apparently, was enough to throw it off. These remotes are very sensitive and I think my son learned that lesson the hard way ([...]out of his allowance).FYI: the wii accessories have a 90 day warranty.

I ordered two of these remotes from Prime Ventures. The first set I received had a problem connecting to the console that would cause the game to hang in the middle of play. The seller responded almost instantly to my email inquiry about their return policy and sent out replacements right away. I was very impressed with their quick and courteous service. The remotes themselves work well, with one caveat: unlike the remotes that came with the system, they have to be manually connected each time the console is turned on. This seems to be a feature of the remote, as I have seen this comment in several reviews.

My experience with fridayplay (fridayplay I beilevee is the name of this seller). I bought 3 remote controllers. One of them was not working and still not working. I tried to contact the seller after I contacted a Nitendo technician who concluded that the remote was defective and inoperable. I never got a response from them up until now despite their claim of working with buyers to solve the issue or even refunding me the full amount paid for the defective controller. I submitted a complaint to Amazon with no success. I really regret having had to do business with this seller. How can I get my money back?
