The Razer basilisk is a high end, high configurable; and high quality feeling wireless gaming mouse. If you are giving this as a gift to yourself or another the experience starts with a pleasant unboxing; it is very much part of the experience. . In the box I had the mouse; some stickers, a USB Micro cable, a little paddle button you can optionally add to the mouse, and a charging dock. I then spent a few minutes trying to find the wireless dongle to actually use it; turns out its hidden behind a door on the bottom of the mouse. The door isn't retained so you make sure you put It back quickly. It does mean for LAN parties its easy to transport and you don't need to leave it sticking out theside of your computer.I can't fathom why this mouse has launched with a USB-Micro charging cable; given the price this should be USB-C to reduce the cable count of its users. For a while I have been using a Logitech MX mouse for work and play. I have cast an eye on gaming mice before; and the ergonomics have always turned me off. The Basilisk Wireless is lighter weight than the MX; and the if you are a right hander it fits nicely in your hand. The buttons all feel close to hands; and they have a nice positive click when you use them. The wheel has a friction dial on the base so you can make click less or have a hard detent. (Sadly it doesn't have the freewheeling option you get on the MX series of mice.)I have used it for work on my company laptop; and discovered my company blocks Razer.com for some reason so I couldn't tailor the 11 buttons. Though in visual studio i'm not sure I have a need for much more than left and right. On my home PC I downloaded the comprehensive button and light colour configuration app Synapse (and its worth noting its a windows only app.) The buttons are all nicely in reach; though I found the right hand squeeze button problematicThe mouse works just fine and without fatigue for work purposes and even coding benefits from a high DPI - especially when you have a 49" supersede monitor; but without the config app to setup the buttons you won't get a lot of benefit for gaming. I have used it for a couple of days as my daily driver mouse for work and maybe an hour of games in the evening; the battery life has help up nicely from the first charge (though there is no indicator to tell you where you are at without the app - though it will warn you have 5% ( = 5 Hours left though flashing colours.)You can configure and save 5 game profiles to the mouse; which you toggle between using a button on the base. (This also means I was able to setup some of the buttons for work purposes and switch to work /mode/ using the switch. These settings include altering the 20,000 dpi to lower levels.Playing FPS with super high DPI has been an eyeopening experience - I have been hamstringing myself out for years; you only need to move the mouse a tiny amount to get a lot of movement in the game; so far less repositioning. You can also toggle the sensitivity (say when you are aiming a gun) - using that little paddle button in the box; and its an excellent feature to be able to switch between moving around and precision aiming at a flick of your thumb. (once you remember to use it.) There are some staggering settings (for someone used to using an office mouse) like adjustments for those times you do need to lift off and reposition to stop it messing around in game. This is high end mouse; in price and features. I was surprised that it did notably improve my gaming experience. At its launch price you will likely need to be an aspiring or serious gamer to really take the full benefit out of it. That said the unboxing experience would make an excellent gift. You can use it comfortably for work and play; it really does feel very well made and fits nicely to your hand with textured surfaces to assist. The configuration through the app will let you play games the way you want to; for hours without your wrist aching.

To me this feels like the spiritual successor to the RAT 9 wireless mouse I had uh..about 8 I think...years ago, which was amazing but ate batteries for lunch. I think saitek are no more having been absorbed into another massive brand, or at least, you can't buy that mouse anymore. Anyway, its unapologetic battery life would be pretty bad in 2019.So where was I. Yes, this mouse feels like it's the modern version of that, which is a complement, it was a more expensive mouse. Granted there's no weird customisation screws and bits on this one, but eventually that got boring. You have some clever software that does home automation, but who and why...not me, that's for sure.I have hue at home but the idea of changing colours based on the game I'm playing is...well..if it's your kind of thing, sure. The macros in the software however, they're useful. You can assign any set of keystrokes including keyboard ones to any of the buttons so far as I can tell,Charging is interesting because it shows a mouse cable going into it in the product photo - but you don't want to be charging it like that! It comes with a magnetic dock thing that it can charge on. Much easier. I guess the photo is for wired mode which again, if that's your thing....go for it. I don't play games seriously enough to be a "mouse must be wired or I'll lose" kind of mentality. You can choose the dpi but it gets out of control fast, the highest rating is just silly, 20000dpi I think it is, you move the mouse 2mm and it traverses the whole screen - can't imagine who needs that, so I'm fine with the initial settings on that one. I like how it shows on screen when you press a button for that. There's a dial under the mouse that tensions and loosens the wheel spin click, this is cool - it's been a long time since I had a mouse that does that, an old logitech I had you could click the wheel in and it would freewheel. In summary then: it's definitely a mouse I would choose for myself having big hands and preferring a mouse with some weight and a decent wireless battery life (it lasted I think about 4 days solid between first charge and first needing to recharge). Hopefully it will stand the test of time.

The most important things about this mouse: extremely smooth, very comfortable, very precise, plenty of customisability. It is a wifi mouse, not a bluetooth mouse. So you need a USB port (or adapter) to plug it in.Less important, but anyway: In the box there is quite a bit of gubbins - a charging dock, a very superior charging cable (USB-micro), and a small "paddle" which can be added on the side to temporarily change the sensitivity when held down. (There is a sensitivity dial on the sole of the mouse, and more options via the downloadable Razer Synapse software.) There's also - inside the mouse - the USB dongle. I was a bit dismayed by this baggage at first, but as soon as I started using it,all those concerns went out the window. I already have a top notch Logitech mouse, and apart from the fact that the Logitech has Bluetooth and (I think) even more buttons to customise, I prefer the feel of the Razer over the Logitech. It fits beautifully in my hand, and when i'm not using it, it glows with a softly changing trim of electric light on the logo and highlights on the wheel and a strip down the thumbside. I found the packaging a bit hard to break into, until I realised that the box was taped up. There are some stickers to adorn your laptop or wherever else you want to stick them. But all that is just flimflam. I love the mouse.

Perhaps I am just a Luddite, but I’ve previously avoided using wireless mice for gaming, as I find it hard to believe that there isn’t any drop in response when using a wireless mouse instead of a wired one — and when gaming, milliseconds can often be the difference between success and failure.Having now spent almost a week using this Razer wireless mouse, I am a convert; plus I feel somewhat daft for having stuck to using a wired mouse for so long. It’s easy to install (as all mice are these days - just plug and play, in this case using the wireless dingle hidden inside the mouse) and you’re off and away. It’s incredibly responsive, fits well in the hand, and definitely my favourite gaming mouse to date (although I still prefer to use joypads whenever possible).I’ve so far programmed it just once, which was relatively easy (just follow the instructions) and has worked well. My only small complaint is that you have to be careful when using the charging dock, as if you don’t ensure the mouse is slotted in properly then you’ll come back two hours later to find that the mouse hasn’t charged (as I did). Other than that, I’m very impressed.

If you think £150 for a mouse is insane then... youre right. However, its just amazing. Its almost worth it just for the ease of the charging dock which adds some rgb to your desk and its so useful. If im playing a game with controller, i pop my mouse on the dock and boom, instant charging, no cables. The mouse just fits into your hand perfectly, it just feels right. The mouse wheel has adjustable tension for either a super smooth feel or a tactile click with each scroll. The buttons on the side have a nice click to them aswell. The 'sensitivity clutch' button is really useful for you snipers out there, temporarily dropping your dpi to whatever youve chosen while holding it.My rbg brightness is set to 20% to preserve battery but it still pops and looks amazing. If you're worried about latency then dont, i swear its faster than my previous razer mamba elite, wireless technology has came a long way and some tests show its actually better. The buttons are light enough to be instant when you click, very little travel, but not too light you accidentally click them. Take the plunge, get this mouse and take your game to the next level!

The matt black Razer Basilisk Ultimate wireless gaming mouse is supplied with a charging dock and is easy to install (via USB dongle), as well as being lightweight and comfortable to use. Visually the mouse is stunning with its ergonomic design and light bars along the sides, in the mouse wheel and under the Razer logo. It is well built and has a total of eleven programmable buttons and a scroll wheel which can be fine-tuned. Overall it is both accurate and very quick to respond although the sensitivity clutch button can be slightly difficult to reach. The lighting zones are controllable via the Razer Synapse 3 software which itself is fairly intuitive although tutorials are included in thesoftware if necessary.Good quality comes at a cost and this premium mouse and charging dock is no exception. However, for those who require a quick response, programmable buttons, a good battery life and a mouse which is still comfortable to use after several intense hours of play, then the Razer Basilisk Ultimate fits the bill and is well worth the money. 5*

if you're buying serious gaming gear for buttons then you might need to rethink your budget.I use this for work and it's very good for that purpose. Comfortable, reconnects quickly (needs a mouse click instead of just a movement to wake-up), the click is very quiet which is exactly as I wanted for meetings (and as described).the side buttons do click as does the middle button. I was a little worried about the signal, because my computer is on the opposite side to the mouse, over a metre away, with lots of wires, wood, cds and junk in the cupboard dividing it. But I've had no signal problems so far. -Edit- From the second day using the mouse, it started having signal problems, stuttering across the screen or not scrolling down properly. I had to unplug it and use up one of the front usb slots in my pc.your thumb and ring finger rest comfortably and aren't left hanging. The DPI options are a great feature. Saves me having to pick up and move the mouse (if you know what I mean) which I hate doing. Makes the mouse pointer make unwanted movements.

I dont think I can prise this mouse enough.First off you can have it plugged in as a wired mouse or have it wireless. the charging dock also serves as an extension for the blue tooth Donegal for the wireless mouse which is brilliant and make's the distance you can use the mouse away from the tower much greater. the reaction time is on par with a wired mouse and I have noticed no delay when gaming.I love that you can customise the mouse key's as well as the mouse light colours, you can even set the colours to whatever gaming profile you make for whatever game you customise your mouse keys for. you can store 5 profiles that you don't need to hook up to the internet for and the downloadablesoftware for the mouse is outstanding. The look and feel is brilliant and I have less wrist strain than with my old mouse which is a big bonus for me. the freewheel scrolling Is handy and I like that you can customise the dpi setting with just a click on the mouse its self. This is an outstanding gaming mouse and I absolutely love it.

After buy the new huntsman te keyboard with red optical switches I really thought this mouse would be amazing but the switches on this mouse are nothing like the red optical switches..These are just normal purple switches basically they take more pressure to actuate than the reds and they have quite a bit of travel 1.5mm meaning it feels like more effort to press witch is useless in fast paced fps!! I set my lancehead 2019 up along side this and tried each one and I'm much faster and much more accurate with the lancehead the button's on the lancehead feel far more responsive an just more natural effortless so yer not impressed for the price hate the purple optical ?..I'm going to give it a fewday's then probably return for refund really don't no why razer used purple optical there actually pritty crap 1.5mm actuation on a mouse very silly the reds are amazing much faster ?..

This was an impulse buy after my Logitech G703 Lightspeed (with the Hero sensor) decided to get a faulty right-click button, only 6 months after purchasing it.I`ve been using Logitech mice, since the original MX revolution back in 2007(which I still have and use at work), BUT the Basilisk here, is the next level. If you want to have that truly wireless experience, then this is definitely what you are looking for.I have to say, I'm impressed, there is literally no delay in movement and clicks, which does help when you play shooters competitively. It feels very smooth and precise, something that was lacking with the Logi. The price very high and I know its not something everyone would consider, however, the optical switches are amazing. Will be looking at pairing The Basilisk Ultimate with a Huntsman Tournament edition next month for that zero-lag feel

This wireless gaming mouse is such a hit in our household, teenage son thinks it’s the business. Fast responsive to the slightest touch and looks good too. No more trying to game but wires getting in the way crucial they don’t if you are driving at stupid speed on games according to son. Charging dock within it so makes charging for those times when you know you are going to be gaming for ages easy to do. Also useful for non gaming too he’s found when studying and being on the web. It’s a make he thinks of as one of the better ones as the shape of it makes it comfortable to hold and use for longer stretches of time too. I must say I suffer with OA in hands and using this wireless mouse doesn’t seem to make my joint hurt as much as previous mouse I was using.Son said even at price it is worth it and well worth five stars I have to agree with him.

So my husband is a huge computer gamer and so I got this for him to try and he was very pleased with the mouse as a whole.First thing he said is that he will not be going back to a wired mouse again in the future as this has now shown him what he was missing. It has 11 buttons which are all very useful especially as this is a gaming mouse and can be set up to what works best for you.The best thing though is that there is no delay what so ever, because of the great software the mouse processes fast and that is exactly what you need with a gaming mouse. Also this is a great mouse for first person shooter games specifically. It's currently available for £159.96 but my husband feels it would bebetter valued between £120- £130.This is my honest and unbiased review.

Ok, I'll be honest, I didn't need the whole bells and whistles that RGB brings, I just wanted a decent wireless mouse.I admit to preferring the idea of AA batteries Vs a cable to charge, but this mouse has a dock, I've turned RGB off and I'm at 70% after 3 days... So yeah happy with that!Asides from that, a brilliant mouse, comfortable, you can adjust the mouse wheel resistance, overall, the best mouse I've ever used.Coming from a Logitech G602 which was much loved, this is the next level of mice!Is it worth nearly £150...not sure about that but it's a good mouse all the same...

Amazing gaming mouse, has all the great features of a razor mouse but without the fancy RGB if your looking for a beast of a gaming mouse this is it! I’ve had no problems with it lighting fast response and multiple ways to change speed with the button on the mouse in dedicated software the only thing I would say is invest in some rechargeable batteries as if you game for long periods of time daily then you will find yourself replacing the single battery needed to power it every 2-3 weeks (10hrs a day 5 days a week) if you opt for regular batteries remember Duracell lasts longer ? ?

Bought this to replace an old gaming mouse of a different make. I worried that it would be too large for my small hands but I needn't have because it was very easy to adapt from my old mouse and is extremely comfortable to use, every button being within easy reach of my fingers. This mouse is extremely quick to respond and if there is any lag at all I have not seen it!! I'm only a casual gamer and so I don't need the lighting gimmicks etc, all I need is a solid quality mouse with no discernible lag and now I've got one!!....brilliant...
