like most I bought this sander for hobby work and it's proven to be a very good investment. I use it for wood and metal shaping and sanding which it does with ease. powerful and quiet motor deals with anything thrown at it so far. the adjustable speed control is very handy allowing for precise detailing or rapid roving of excess.the easily removable sanding discs supplied are of good quality. I did have an issue where one disc overheated and stuck fast to the silicone backing but that was my over eagerness. I bought replacement adhesive silicone backing which made it as good as new.more expensive than some alternatives, I'd say if you want a price of kit that won't let you down and u plan to use a lot,

I've had three other disc sanders, and they didn't last more that a year or two of moderate usage making radio-controlled aircraft. I've generally paid around £30, so I suppose they were reasonable value.I decided to try better quality this time around, and so paid £132 for this unit.So what's the verdict? Rolls Royce quality, which should last me a lifetime. I don't like the price, but I love the sander! Really quiet too. Much more powerful motor, which shouldn't burn out, as my previous units have done when sanding ply ribs to shape.I'm looking at buying some more Proxxon tools now, to replace less precise items.

Just received this and put it to the test,very impressed quality product as with all PROXXON tools super model making sanding perfect straight edges rounding off corners and more. I should of bought one before now I can see lots of projects that will benefit from this machine. Highly recommend for small work pieces saves so much time as a opposed to hand sanding, perfect mitre sanding as well overall very pleased with this product dust extraction also so no more mess.

The sander is just right for the wood craft that I do which is carving, scrolling and wood turning. I only require a small amount of sanding as most sanding is done by hand.The machine works very quietly and cuts the wood extremely accurately. This tool would be perfect for model makers and people that make small items I would recommend this tool for reliability, and performance.

This is the sander to beat all sanders! Pricey it may be and I thought long and hard before spending this much on a sander. But I am glad I did, like the other Proxxon machines I have it is the ultimate nothing to match it I don't think.

Great product - pity we have huge import charges - we pay about double of what you pay in Germany on less than 30% of income. Nevertheless - just great, exactly what I need for my model ship building.

This machine was bought for a specific purpose and it has proved to be a great compact sander in use. Well made and solid it has the advantage of variable speed as well.

This is of the usual Proxxon high quality. Very quiet in operation and with excellent torque. The abrasive paper is easily changed and can be easily reused many times.

This machine is powerful, accurate and above all quiet, it's absolutely perfect for modelling and perhaps even heavier work.Typical Proxxon engineering.

Very sturdy piece of kit. Does everything I purchased it for and maybe more as I haven't explored all of its capabilities yet.

got for my partner for his hobby and he loves it he has always wanted one of the disc sanders and i got him one

no allen key for removing the table so the sanding disc can be replaced
