We have 2 kittens who have taken to losing collars on a regular basis. Wi the collars are, of course, the id tags and entry keys. For this reason we are buying rather a lot of these at the moment. They arrive on time, do what they are supposed to until they end up in a tree until winter when we will find them and the whole thing starts again.Hubby has just pointed out that they also help gather any and all lost nails, pins, screws or anything else metal from the neighbourhood. Thanks pet safe for enabling the purchase of spare keys and keeping the neighbourhood tidy,... Kittens!

There is one magnetic type or locking cat flap and this fits it. So as cats will scratch and wriggle, the collar can slip off if loose or the split ring can rust through, and noone wants their pet locked out from their food bowl!So you need a reserve: Here are two. Stainless steel split ring attachement or a standard size so that even a small cat will manage. Sturdy. Now your next question outght to be, do I need a spare collar too? Or will I only reorder when (not if) moggins gets out of that and looses it too!RECOMMENDED

These little magnets are necessary to enable your cat to access its cat flap if you buy in the shops they are a lot more expensive I have paid £6.50 from a garden centre!! this £ is a lot more realistic......we have 2 cats and they seem to loose their complete collars with the magnet still attached at regular intervals! so we always have a couple in the cupboard just in case....the magnets seem robust and well made it would just be nice if our cats took more care over their collars!!

One dejected cat now over themoon as she can come and go once again at her leisure without unwanted friends. Of course, you already need to have Staywell's superb 4 way magnetic cat flap to have replacement magnetic 'keys' - we are on our second such flap in 10 years and now on the 5th 'key' as we have a careless puss who keeps losing them - they are designed to have a weak point to avoid snagging mog up a tree etc. Nice you can get replacements

Great product and rather powerful magnets. Opens my cat flap no problem.I would not advise using this on smaller cats or kittens. I put this on my 8 month old kitten when she was 1st venturing out. I heard a clunking noise keep repeating. After some investigation, I realised the magnet was sticking to the metal sheeting that I have on top of my shed roof. The cat was too little for such a strong magnet so removed it to use when she is bigger.

These came in slightly different packaging to the last lot I ordered but if you intend to buy them yourself just pay attention to the items picture and code number and you cant go wrong. the keys are almost exactly the same as previous purchases i.e no improvement on the thin flimsy bit where the ring attaches it to the cats collar hence only 4 stars I assume this is built in obsolescence they still only stay on her collar about 3 months.

Bought these as replacements to have in as my cats especially one is always losing his collar. As I work long hours I need my cats to be able to get in the house and a magnetic flap is ideal. After shopping around it is difficult to find these replacements and when you do they are not cheap. These were good value for money.Would recommend.

Our cat came home one day missing her collar ??‍♂️ It happens from time to time I know they get up to mischief when there out and about.. having only the one magnet she had on her original collar I was straight on amazon to find a replacement.. these work perfectly with our catflap and now we have a spare too if this one goes missing ?

These are slightly different from the original supplied with the cat-flap and they look much sturdier. The old ones look like little mice and the split ring barely went through its head meaning that eventually, they wore out and fell off the collar. These ones have the ring going through the magnet much deeper so should last longer.

Yeah, they do what they're meant to do for the cats to gain access to the cat flap, but god, they're only little, so to me, far too expensive.Especially considering how often cats lose their collars. Ho hum, the joys of being a crazy cat lady. BUY IN BULK, you WILL need replacements . Don't forget to get extra collars too.

The catches are not on the heavy side so the cat does not realise she is wearing if, though to date she has not figured out how to enter the flap, as she uses her feet first so the door of course will not open, early days, seems a good product and the delivery was first rate as was postage and packaging, highly recommended.

My cats have been using Staywell collar keys for many yearsI've had to replace them from time to time mainly due to the cats loosing there collarson one occasion one of the magnets casings split in two halves I think water got insideand the magnet got rusty and expanded splitting the casing, over all a very good product.

Does what it is expected to do. Difficult to attach to a cat collar but stays in place when fixed. Main problem is to watch out for various metal objects being attracted to the magnet e.g. nails, screws etc. Also, you cannot use any metal food bowls any more as they are tipped up by the magnet as the cat goes to eat!!

Its good to keep spares of there in case your cat loses it collar. We keep a couple on stand by because the cats seem to lose a collar every year or so. If you try and purchase these magnets in your local pet shop it costs around £10 per magnet in some places. Happy with the purchase and the price.

I bought these 2-pack because my cat lost his original collar with the key attached. He obviously got stuck somewhere and the collar snapped open. I have a Staywell Petsafe cat flap and these are perfect so he can come in and out on his own. They arrived super quick and would definitely buy again.
