The magnetic closure cat flap was purchased to replace a Safe pet four way closure one. We have been visited by a stray cat that accessed the old cat flap, eating our cats food and being threatening towards them. The new flap is identical to the old one except for the magnetic closure. The entrance hole to the house protrudes more on the outside of the door and this confused our cats who are used to an immediate entrance. The magnet release for the closure sits on the protruding platform and when the magnetic sensor on the cats collar meets the platform it always the cat entrance. It is sticking open at times as the cats cautiously get used to the longer length of the platform.My first order from Amazon resulted in the wrong cat flap being sent ,

After receiving one cat flap from this company that I couldn’t get to work with the magnetic collar key provided I asked for a replacement item. Another cat had been coming in the house and leaving a very pungent smell and stressing my cat out. They replaced it immediately, the replacement flap arriving the day after I’d placed the reorder. The second flap works fine and after testing it I now wonder if there was anything wrong with the original; I don’t think I was being forceful enough. It was a little stiff to open the flap in the beginning but it’s loosened up now. The magnet works 99% of the time and my cat is always able to enter after a couple of attempts on that rare occasion it’s temperamental.

We have two cats and I didn't really think this through as it comes with only one magnet. I'm not too keen on fixing something to a cat's collar because collars should be designed to come off if the cat becomes stuck and if it holds something it needs to be able to get in...I disabled the magnet feature for these reasons. Don't want just one of our cats coming in plus neither wear collars and to disable it I had to use duct tape to hold the clip down.We were replacing an old cat flap that out dog broke trying to put his head through it when it was locked. He's a big German Shepherd and a bit clumsy. No injury, just cracked the door.This one was purchased because it was the same dimensions as the old one and it fit right in.

I bought this cat flap as we were having replacement doors. It replaced a Ferplast cat flap, which although did the job well, sometimes didn't shut behind the cat properly so needed to be weighted slightly in order to swing shut heavily enough to lock in place.So far this Staywell flap has functioned perfectly and always lets the cat in and shuts it properly behind him. If you're looking for a cheap way to stop other people's cats coming into your house, this is it. Before we had a magnetic flap other cats would enter the house and my cat would fight them making a tremendous noise. This has stopped all that. It doesn't take long for them to work out how to use it,

Easy to install (and I'm a woman), although a bit nervous cutting a hole in my UPVC door. My cat took a few pushes through it from both sides, bless him (he'd never used a cat flap before).. Wouldn't be without it, he comes and goes as he pleases until I lock it to keep him in. It has 4 settings locked / unlocked / locked from going out and locked from coming in... although the lock is quite stiff to turn! Comes with 2 magnets so if like my cat you cat loses his collar you have a spare, although you can buy more spare magnets if required. I would recommend this if you want to make sure your neighbours cats cant get into your house :)

I replaced the non magnetic that was letting in all the local cats, it was very easy to install as it fitted exactly, only needed a screwdriver. My cat would not use it at first as it was harder for her to push than the old one, and she wouldn't put her head through to allow the magnet to open the door, so we tapped down the button just to let her get used to pushing a bit firmer, when she was happy we then released the catch and she is now happily using the cat flap. We are now hoping that we will no longer be feeding all the local cats.

We have the microchip cat flap. It works perfectly for our 2 cats. If there is ever a problem with the flap not closing properly and other cats getting in the house then refer to 'Lock Return Time - 5 Beeps' on p17 of the manual. The factory setting for the cat's microchip to be recognised is 4 seconds. However, if you have a particularly timid cat, or if your cat is frequently chased by other cats, the lock return time can be lengthened or shortened. We lengthened the lock return time and the problem was immediately solved.

We recently moved house. There was only a bog-standard cat flap. After a short while, I suspected that other cats were getting in and eating our cat's food, and possibly peeing in the house. since we got this cat flap, the cat's food is secure, and the house doesn't smell of wee.It was easy to fit for me, as it fitted in the hole from the old cat flap. I have fitted one of these elsewhere, and it is quite easy. You juts need some basic DIY skills, and the confidence to cut your door up.

Had these previously, but the cat lost his collar a week or so ago (with the magnet that releases the flap on it), and was so desperate to get out of the rain that he forced his way in and busted the flap.Swapping it was so easy, just two screws.I realised after I bough this that I could probably have got just the flap-part on its own, but the original was a bit grubby anyway, and now it's nice and clean, and not broken.

Purchased this flap to replace an old one of the same design - so it would fit the uPVC door and not require a new bottom panel - It is just a shame that the manufacturers of an otherwise superb product, dont make the outside parts uPVC too as the tunnel had become brittle and broken due to sun and weather exposure. As usual Amazon's service was excellent and delivery very quick - just over 24 hours from start to finish!

This was a replacement to an existing cat flap. It was absolutely no trouble to fit, and within a few minutes my two cats were coming in and out as usual. It is well manufactured and sturdy, and the only reason I had to replace my existing one was because a piece of the outside part had broken off, probably because it was so old. I don't think that you will be disappointed with buying this item.

Love love love this!! I have a house cat and a cat who is very independent and like to come and go as he pleases. So I fitted mine back to front. This is perfect. No problems fitting or with him learning how it works. The only problem is when he looses is collar, but that's just one of those things.He loves it. My house cat is still bemused why it doesn't work for her thoUgh. Very funny.

Needed this type of cat flap to keep another cat out of the house but couldn't install direct into wall or door, so could use this one on an inner wall. Rigid enough for my cat to have to push quite firmly against the plastic door to enter but not so hard as to give her a headache! Had to take the little bell off her collar as kept sticking to the magnet and interfering the mechanism.

AS WE ARE A REPAIR COMPANY FOR ALL THINGS UPVC, GLASS AND GLAZING WE OFTEN HAVE TO FIT DOG AND CAT FLAPS INTO GLASS OR PANELS, OUR CLIENT NEEDED A MAGNETIC FLAP TO STOP OTHER CATS ENTERING HER HOME BUT NEEDED IT TO BE QUIET AS HER CAT SPOOKED EASILY, JUST TO SAY THEY ARE VERY HAPPY AND THE CAT IS ALSO HAPPY. Our cat liked going outside. I gave her a set of keys but she couldn't work the lock mechanism on our door despite me trying to train her for 4 months.We saw this item & she now is able to have a better social life with other cats & animals of the forest without pestering us to open the door.Great value & easy to fit using the templates provided.
