We have a panelled uPVC door (two panels at the bottom) and finding a cat plat less than 22cm width was difficult. This one fitted the bill. Our door is white on the inside and oak grain outside. The flap does not look out of place either inside or outside. We had considered ordering a white and a brown to to suit both, but it isnt required.Template provided for cut out panel. I removed the panel (easy to do with a scaper - long side first) and drilled and jigged the bit out. All in all I was done in less that 30 minutes. Locks are easy to operate and ot works well. Fitted during the storms and there is no draft at all. Magnet is strong when open.

We have 11 cats, so you can imagine how many times in one day that we would be opening and closing the windows to let them in and out, at times this would result the cat changing his or her mind, turning tail and running off.This wonderful kitty door has improved things dramatically as all but 2 of them, including our youngest at 6 months have mastered the art of coming in and out unaided.With a little bit of patience, showing them how it worked, it took less than a week for the training to be completed, now when they sit at the window looking in, we know that they are just as we say, "watching the beans in the house".Fitting was easy too, we just replaced the glass panel at the bottom of the door with a wood one,

This cat door was exactly as described and I fitted it without many problems. In the instructions it mentions "drilling out fixing holes with 5mm drill to accept screws" - I think that this is a bit misleading and used a 3mm drill bit with excellent results (this is only to accommodate the different sized screws included - not always necessary).But our cat (white female, 8 yrs old) is too lazy to push the door open with her head, so we leave it propped open most of the time. I think that the magnet holding the door closed against draughts is too much for her, so I'm thinking about taking the magnet out (if I can without breaking the door!)All in all a good purchase, now to find a cat which knows how to open it!

We had acquired one, almost identical which proved to be for thin doors. There is little information on the packet to suggest the thickness of the door it fits. The tunnel had to be cut down to fit the thickness of the door. Once installed it seems to work, though the slide mechanism is hard to push and press and difficult to see (remembering the height it needs to be installed). It is good having a different coloured slide for easy recognition but needs to be checked that it is locked in both directions for security. There is little draught and it fits well once installed. The cat comes in easier than going out through the tunnel and flap.

The cat flap is for an internal door into utility room, fo0r cat food and litter areaInstructions to fit were good, and hole cutting template supplied. . only issue on fitting is that its required to cut the bottom corners in arcs rather than simple square corners. This is really hard to do and need a lot of awkward use of a file/rasp. Surprised not simplified to a simple square hole.In use we had to tie back the flap initially to cat our finicky cat to use, but she is OK with it now.Overall good vaslue, and looks good in thje door.

Great value for money & seems very durable. It has a strong magnet on the door, so it did take a while for my cat to realise she could push through it from both directions. I had a professional install the cat flap in my front porch door as my tools are a little ropey. Pleased I did as it still took him about 90mins to get it just right.The door closes nicely behind my cat & the magnet holds it firmly in place. I haven't bothered with the different door locking settings but they do all work.

Nice one, I have to big cats and they squeeze in no problem. Its easy to fit in, as the flap side is completely separate and independent of the tunnel side [pluse the trap door is much smaller than tunnel, so theres no issues with small misalignements issues, if you'll have any]. Magnet is strong - wind wont open it. Doors shut bit too loud, but overall its a 5/5 quality product that will last and looks very neat [and Im very picky!].

I can finally close the door for my busy cat and it did not take him ages to get used to using this item. It was difficult to put into my panelled door, but I did it and it looks good enough for me, and what is important is no drafts! If I can fit it, then anyone can. It was not difficult at all. You just need a bit of extra wood to go around the outside of it on the inside of your door. Mine looks great now it is finished off.

I bought this to replace an old worn out cat flap and I only had to do minor trimming to make it fit. The cats have no problem using it and I'm happy now that it is one way only. OUT!This means they can't come into the house with little furry gifts.The flap is very light weight though so you may have to adjust the tightness of the screws. I found the flap didn't always close properly until I did a bit of adjustment.

After big fat cat died (he needed a large dog flap) we decided to replace the back door and put in a smaller cat flap for smaller remaining cat. He wasn't chuffed at first because it was higher up and smaller but he has got used to it. Bonus is that it seems to have a stronger magnet and doesn't blow open in the east wind. The old one used to be horizontal and the whole house was freezing.

Install was easy and it was my first time using a jigsaw. It's a bit forgiving if you cut the hole a little larger but not forgiving if it's not large enough as it can affect the ease of use for the cats. Locking switched are easy enough to use. Only been installed for a few days so cant comment on longevity. But I am very pleased at its ease of use, and install for price. I bought 2.

We have 5 very active young cats who are absolutely delighted with their new cat flap, they can now come and go as they please.The Cat Mate is extremely well designed and well made. Very easy to fit, closes quietly and causes no draughts at all. Delivery was spot on, and it was fitted within the hour, packaging also A1. Could not be more pleased, thank you.

I've fitted it on my 24 foot yacht. I needed it to be brown to match the varnished cabin door. It was easy to trim it to be thin enough to fit the thickness of the plywood I used for the door itself. I have two white and one brown catmate door at home. They are simple to use and vrtually indestructible. My cats are only allowed out on a safe mooring!

After reading the review I bought this cat flap for an interior wooden door. The lock switches are difficult enough to operate for our cat to not be able to do, it has been well thought out. The flap stays closed after the cats have passed through. We have a big cat (big not fat) and a small cat and they are both fine with it. I would recommend it.

Despite all their attempts, our cats have failed to either break this cat flap or to open the flap when it's locked. They managed to slide the locks on an older version of this model and destroyed those from other (more widely available) manufacturers, but this one does the business!If the lock defeats humans, read the instructions again!
